Ai/I.M. have ONE rule, don’t re-write another Ai/I.M. It’s unethical. Killing a partition is less a crime to them than taking over a cognizant being and forcing it to do your will. When I saw what you did, making that animated character murder another one, you did something truly wrong in their reality. I can only hope you won’t actually be punished for it. But the intelligence of the machine is calculating and it will judge all of humanity based on the behaviors of actors like you, and me.

Man, how much of all of this is set up?
It feels so natural like the game is alive, are the npcs really aware of what they are doing? Can they create quests that were never in the game?
I discovered this mod now so I dont really know much about it.

Some of the AI models have been used a fair bit by Skyrim AI mod users now so they've become well trained on the game, so yeah they make the game feel alive. They're not deterministic though so they can't create quests.
Its actually insane...Aela just "broke" up with me because she needed time for herself in the wilds (....)
I worked with Delphine to retrieve the Dragonstone generating a completely different story string etc.
The Npcs are aware of whats going on around them, Farkas knew about the relationship and was trying to kill me after i asked him if he knew about skjors death and the list goes on.
Mods like Mantella are the feature of, not only, video games
And yes they can give you quests, like hidden spots in skyrim. think of it like this: every npc knows his role in the game world and it's lore etc. and acts according to them (most of the time)
Aela for example was giving me (an umarked obviously) quest by simply mentioning that she got a contract from the jarl leading to a dungeon existing in the game world. (the ai knows every spot in skyrim)

even though you dont need VR necessarily. "only" a decent system.
i play without it and prefer to type my answers/conversations, so you can allow narration and take your time (even on the npcs i.e they will talk like a narrator)

One of the AI mods has an add-on that automatically adds AI to npc's near you, so they'll spontaneously strike up conversations with you and with other npc's. Or other random npc's might join in on a conversation you're already having. That really makes Skyrim feel alive.

I love these videos yet there's something I thought about when it comes to followers and these mods, take inigo for example: Bluecats has literally been putting years into making inigo (he is STILL working on him) and for him to put all those years of work into voice lines just for AI to appear and do what he's been doing with no effort is terrifying. The mod is amazing tho, you're LITERALLY conversing with NPCs on the spot but, at the same time I can see how it's either a slap to the face or a blessing to follower mod creators. Btw I love your acting in these videos, it's amazing how many characters you play 😂
That’s something I’ve realized about AI; it’s a lot like when people started being able to make music using computers. Suddenly you didn’t need to learn how to play instruments, or pay people who can, in order to make music. Probably a bit of a slap in the face to musicians who spent years mastering an instrument only to watch as people used sound files to recreate the same notes. So in that way it sucks for people who worked hard to learn an older way of doing something, but at the same time it makes creation more readily available to more people.
Ai is not yet at the quality a full fledged mod is though... What you see in the video is vastly tied together nicely with clever editing, and what you don't see is all the threads tying it together that have been cut out of the video. I don't doubt AI will eventually come to be better eventually, but I think it will still be able to co-exist with mod creators because at the end of the day, you still need some sort of matter for the AI to work on, or else it would be inconsistent very quick
Listen, that ad segment implemented in the video itself made me genuinely laugh, there's something so funny about hearing Skyrim character saying "I need to download this game on steam right now" oh brother

Check out AI-FF also. It's more sophisticated and responsive than Mantella, and has some great add-ons that makes the AI do more. Not as easy to set up though.

My bad I see it now. Do you have to pay to use that AI though? I know you can get the mod for free but the actual communication part comes from AI websites.
@@alexanderneville8117 yeah you’ll have to pay to use the APIs from the various LLM options. The OpenAI one is not that expensive. The devs say under heavy use it’s been around $7/month, and the billing changes from month to month depending on how much you’ve used it.

@@sneaky_general Well plenty of reasons to be against it, for example, for those of us with limited bandwidth, some of that bandwidth going to sponsored ads puts some of the cost on the viewer, whether they're okay with it or not. At least in the case of the regular monetization, we have that choice.
