I loved the Buffy film. So much so, I never could get into the TV series all those years later. This song was a great part of the film, integral even to the nostalgia. I want to find a HQ version of this video now.
This amazing and woefully underappreciated band did the same thing to the Easybeats several years earlier that they did here to the Rascals.....took one fantastic tune from each.....applied a little Divinyls magic....and presto! The proof is always in the listening......Nobody could deliver like Chrissy......with style and panache!
YEAH... YEAH... I admit you got the biggest brown eyes And you know how to bite your lips to tantalise Sure YEAH... You can get any girl you want going (and you do it) And don’t say you don’t know ‘cos you do Well baby... [Chorus] I ain’t gonna eat out my heart anymore I ain’t gonna eat out my heart anymore I ain’t gonna eat out my heart anymore So quit it... [Bridge] I love you, I love you, I do boy But you ain’t gonna cheat on me I need you, I need you I do boy Choose is it her or me? Choose is it her or me? YEAH.... Just cause I have a say input You should be ashamed of what I've been seeing YEAH.... You better watch your step Or boy, you're gonna loose The best thing you ever had Oh-Oh-Oh.... Now he ain't gonna eat out my heart anymore [Chorus] [Bridge] [Chorus] x 3 with ad libs to end
So so many times I'm also surprised that such and such song is a cover. I have a theory that more often than not, bands break into the charts with a hit that's a cover .... and from then on we get to hear there own material. One of my biggest "cover surprises" was The Angels classic "Am I ever gonna see your face again" !!! P.S. and I did not know that this Divinyls song was also a cover! P.S.S. Divinyls would have been "top of list" for bands to see reformed ..... as I missed them first time around :-(
This kicks
Chrissie and Macca's interpretation of this Little Rascals song is brilliant.
i agree but it's The Young Rascals

Lindsay I saw them reformed in 2007 as they had not missed a beat too bad it culminated with Chrissy’s declining health
