Honestly a great pack from DE, no cosmetics to try and bait in longer term players who have all the gear, no junk that would be useless to a brand new player. Just a great get up and go boost to the start of your adventures. For us more experienced players, it can also be a great gift to give a friend or significant other if they've seen us playing and want to get into the game and catch up fast.
@@lookalike4805You can play the entire game without spending any money. Warframe is absurdly friendly to f2p players. How is something a deal breaker when it's entirely unneeded? Games take one of two things to progress in: Time, or money. Which you have more of at any given moment and what each is worth to you is up to you to figure out.
@@lookalike4805 I look at it more like paying that price to get a friend to a point they can enjoy the game, or if I were to make a new account for any reason a price I would pay to avoid a whole lot of early game frustration. It's certainly not for everyone, and definitely not for anyone who's been playing more than about a month casually, maybe even less, but it is great to just grab someone who knows they'll like the game but hate the early stages and get them straight into the power fantasy and fun with no delay. Getting people into the game like that is a difficult balance, but it's well done here while still leaving a lot to accomplish and do.
@@stefanlewis7773 I'd say it's a bit more tedious than it should be at the start, since the start of a game is when you want the big action and excitement to draw a player in and get them hooked on the experience. But yes, that is one of their monetization strategies with certain aspects like the foundry timer and certain resource farming.
It really feels like that 475 platinum is specifically mostly for buying a Necramech. It baffles me that DE still have it set as a prerequisite for New War when realistically a beat up loaner build from Father would do the exact same job against those low level enemies in the brief segment you use the mech. Getting a Railjack isn't so bad and can be done in a few hours. Getting a Necramech requires you to farm standing for days to get the necessary mineral blueprints, mine said minerals, go into the vaults to fight mechs, then wait for at least three and a half days while it builds. They removed needing to be MR1, 5 and 7 at certain points to get round the star chart, but there's still a nech shaped road block that DE really need to reconsider.
I personally would have liked if it was Nova and Styanax instead. Nova is a great frame to include within the pack, not only does her kit contain many aspects of Warframe gameplay (Damage, Movement, etc. etc.) she is also a semi late star chart farm. Rhino on the other hand I disagree with for a few reasons. As the very first boss (Jackal who is also a great introduction to boss farms) players can farm for a Warframe, I think that he should remain as so. Understanding the process of boss farming and the subsequent building of a Warframe as early as possible is crucial in my opinion. Continuing that, Rhino also feels like a considerable increase in power for a new player, leading to an elevated sense of progression. As a replacement I would suggest Styanax. Styanax has a perfect kit for new players in my opinion. A strong grouping tool, armor / shield strip (VERY important to introduce to players early on as it is crucial in late game builds) a DPS ability and energy regen. That last point is a big one. Energy, or the lack thereof is a pain point for early game players that I'm sure your aware of, Rally Point does a great job in allowing players to use their abilities semi consistently while not being able to be spammed without tools only late game players would have (Zenurik, Energize, etc. etc.) Also, as an INCREDIBLY late game farm, new players wouldn't even have the opportunity to get a Styanax for a very long time. Overall, Rhino and Nova does work though I believe Styanax is a better option. Mods and weapons, everything seems good there!
rhino is a much easier to understand frame, that unlike styanax also teaches new players the importance of energy management, as getting a new player to swap from styanax to any other waframe would be a major pain for them, because they have much stricter energy economy. Also, defence strip isn't valuable to new players and therefore won't teach them anything about late game and is frankly isn't needed, considering that a lot of people haven't unlocked/ don't bother with steel path
The current frames seem fine, the only frame I could see being okay to give would be harrow or trinity, leaning toward trinity because that woukd open up a area not covered by the three starters which is support.
Rhino is fine imo, since it's one of the first if not the first warframes people craft anyway. But instead of Nova a support frame would be better, since all 3 starter frames are dmg dealers. Somebody like Oberon, who is perfect for newer players with his easy to use kit, but acquired quite late in the game in what is an exceptionally annoying rng farm when people usually have stronger picks to choose from, that he rarely sees much playtime.
Absolutely not Styanax for a new player. He has too many modern crutches compared to the earlier frames. You wouldn't learn of the energy economy, it would be discouraging to seek different types of power since his 4 would be too good compared to earlier unlocks, and his tharros strike is very much the odd one out of defense strips as he can easily remove a chunk of shields from many things that others cannot and on top of that he has survivability through shield gate regen that gives a false sense of why you'd die on other frames.
The pack is aimed towards the new player and mid game experience so it wouldn't be good to give new players a Warframe that needs to be modded correctly with mods the new player may not even have certain mods to make the build work which may end up making more problems instead of improving the new game experience
Personally I love that the Sobek is in here. It's a fun shotgun with some effective enhancement mods that I really wanted to make good in the late game, but gets overshadowed really easily. So to have it in a starter pack lets newer players experience it with fresh eyes without the shadow of a lot of the other content dampening it, so they'll get to enjoy it the way I wish I had when I got it.
I'm a nova simp so i can appreciate them adding nova into the back but...why? Nova requires a lot of duration and minimum range to feel anything but wet paper, she is a very odd choice for a 'starter pack'. The only reason she was added with rhino is likely due to that non cannon teaser trailer for the new war where its implied we are going to kill natah, as nova was the focus.
I don't think anything in base star chart is going to challenge Nova with some fully levelled mods in her. Vitality, Stretch, Streamline, Intensify, sorted.
From saturn onward players who don't have healing will constantly be taking slash procs from grineer, and other status effects that will make them crumple. I watch new players play the game a lot and if they don't know what they are doing and when the carrying stops like for a solo only quest, they struggle and its probably frustrating. Granted, you get the frames already maxed so you can slot mods in but without having Nova's null stars constantly being refreshed as high as possible she is wet paper @@Joe90h
Remember, you are not a new player, you know techniques to survive, a player boosted does not. Stuff you take for granted like rolling or using your operator to avoid damage is not a concept new players will know unless taught or told@@DawnAfternoon
You're concentrating on the DR (rightly for end game) but a newer player will probably be using intensify full strength MP for CC along with the damage boost like we did in the early days. While that's more of an issue in later planets farming defence missions, that's not relevant to a new player who will want more breathing space.
Level 30 enemies can kill nova pretty easily if you don't know what you are doing. Lots of slash procs and no DR due to having no narrow minded for null star particle increases, no augment mods to recast them, so you often will have low DR if any, etc@@sabreracer
Here's the issue I have with giving players fully maxed out mods: they might not be able to use them since the pack doesn't have any added forma. I guess you can buy them with the plat that comes with the pack, but than why even give players the plat to begin with?
They have 60 Capacity Minimum.... Every Single Mod will Fit without Issues... But Yes .. the Lack of *Forma* is a Good Point ... But for the purpose of Educating The Player rather than Empowering them.
Even as a 10 year vet I still havent maxed out some of these mods for that very reason. The cost vs value of the last rank is often negligible, and makes it harder to make a decent build on new weapons /frames, especially if the default polarities aren't ideal. So I can absolutely see new players building their first weapons after using this pack and being confused why they cant use their powerful mods, or being so disappointed that they need to use lower rank mods that they'll just not bother and stagnate.

Probably would've been worth including the extra 125 plat for rushing the frames in the foundry to the overall value, bumping it to around 1380 plat total. Otherwise great analysis! I remember checking this in the market last week and being pretty surprised at the *amount* of good value in the pack.
Why would you add the plat that would have been spent rushing them when they get added fully built? They also come with free slots so there's some added plat value there as well.
I meant moreso in Ken's plat value analysis of the pack, seeing as they do come pre-built that would calculate into the minimum plat saved from buying the pack for instant access
The new player experience is extremely good right now. They've swapped the flawed mods out for real ones, they've drastically reduced junction requirements, shield gating exists, Duviri supplies plenty of Orokin Catalysts/Reactors and some powerful melees while allowing players to gain a lot of easy MR and a chance to try out equipment with fully levelled mods to get a taste of later power, and they've put some of the crappier quests as optional.
The new player experience is fine. The fact of the matter is, jumping in to a 10 year old game is difficult no matter what you do. You can't just "make the new player experience better lol" it's simply not possible.
We have reached the point where people are actually arguing for a cash purchase over a reworked tutorial. At the end of the day, i don't think there's a great argument for buying things you can earn in game pretty easily. You still need to fight your way through the star chart, and by doing so you're going to get all of these mods and enough resources to build those weapons. I don't think this grind is that bad. Building a Necramech and ranking up open world factions, THAT is the grind. And there's no avoiding that.
in worth calculations you forgot two moments 1. WF have a regional prices 2. All this stuff without mods are MF fodder. And some mods a bit obsolete too. for new player on regional price - worth absolutely. I remember this grindwall as I was a noob - no endo, no credits, no forma, no slots, etc. AFAIK, many players drop WF in this state. I think its a more plus than a minus. If you can afford this pack.

So for us more experienced players, might not hold great value, but for newcomers, it'll hold way more. Problem is, when he mentioned the idea of some players not liking to play on "easy", some players only want to play on "easy" and get really annoyed when the game gets harder, which is my issue with this pack. It's giving you one of the tankiest warframes out there with all the core mods for him. Problem with that is these newer players may become the Warframe equivalent to whiny kids when things get harder for them. Bosses become more difficult, enemies will cause them to either rethink their strategies or fall, and the players will not want to change their "bash my head into the wall until breaks" strat. This is a bad thing and is typically charged with these kinds of "pay to win" style packs. Anyways, that's my sight of this whole thing.
I'm relatively new to warframe (sub 100 hours) and think this pack would have only hurt me; I've managed to get by most content without much difficulty anyways until I hit what feels like a wall around obtaining Necramech parts for a New War. You can pretty comfortably play nearly exclusively story content and star-chart nodes on the path to the next junction all the way up to this wall. I think getting that gear wouldn't help as much as you need to catch up with MR.
I will mention that this pack is a much better buy than something like the new war power bundle for someone looking to advice someone else to rush to steel path and play with their more experienced friends. As that is a pretty common scenario nowadays : there's a bunch of friends who have already grinded to steel path. A new friend wants to play but nobody really wants to play with them because they aren't steel path ready. With a bit of research and buying the initiate pack you could easily either boost yourself or get boosted to new war in like maybe a day for the more dedicated gamers. The main grind to skip with the plat here is the necramech. Which normally requires a huge wait for the faction rep for the necralisk itself not to mention the actual wait for the necramech itself which is enormous.
Honestly it's a good pack, maybe it should have come with a few formal as well, but coming with everything already leveled up is a revolutionary addition
After playing for hundreds of hours, I recognize the huge value in the ranked up mods this pack offers, so it is a "good deal". But your last point stands: knowing myself, I would still not get the pack if I started fresh. I just enjoy the fresh start on every game too much. It is fun to start from nothing and find out where stuff drops, farm them, and in this way build your toolset. That is the core gameplay loop here, and I think the mentality of "it's a marathon, not a sprint" can give you the peace of mind that you don't need everything immediately.

@@LuigisPikachu The power pack really just removes the hook of the looter shooter gameplay by making it extremely monotonous to go through the startchart just devastating everything. You'd kinda need to get hooked by the story quests alone, and in time their quality has dropped.
Further counter point, if you're the sort of player that stuck through the old early game, this pack wasn't ever going to marketed at you. This is for the player that hops in because a friend told them Warframe is good then gets shafted when a new update comes out that they can't take part in because they're still working their way around the map and haven't found a frame or weapon yet that they gel with. Warframe needs to fix its high turnover, and some people genuinely will choose to pay for this sort of skip. I don't think it's perfect, but it's not egregious.

Hey I was wondering if you could look into Qorvex's 1st ability, it has a visual interaction with the grimoire and vauban's 4th ability and I'm not sure how it scales or what else it interacts with.
also got one more downside. u entered game buy this packet . cool rhino etc. since they are new players, they cant use focus schools so zenurik is of the chart. warframes tend to use energy, energy comes from mostly enemies and loots. no problem so far. How they get energy orbs? ın fast paced games like this collection of energy kinda low to me. Atleast they shoulda add companion durability mods so newbies really benefit from warframes.
I have to say this was such a fun pack. I bought the cheap Warframes volt Excalibur and I had mag. Now I just mix and match while playing the star chart. I’d definitely recommend to anyone you know likes this style game but would like to enjoy the beginning a little more due to the story being kinda hard to follow at first.
This is not an initiate pack. I wont recommend this to anybody . No ice breaker price , Rhino too easily obtained , max mods are useless without forma . 1 aura mod is wrong polarity . Plinx pistol ? Really ? All those mods except stance mods ....
way too expensive. $30 would be tempting but id rather just buy the 1k plat for 50 bucks as a new player. Source: Im new and opted to not buy it and got plat instead. rhino is too easy to get i had him building on day 2 and built on day three and instead used my plat to buy 2 different warframes i wanted and some good guns. much better imo. got the exact guys i wanted and guns i wanted and got rhino along the way.
Im getting back into the game (@ mr7) after a year and a half break bc of college..... but my 2 cents about this back is its insane value but its a warp straight to "intermediate" game as someone who bought prime access (khora i just like the frame) and pretty much skipped most of the early game and now im going back to do early game shit its less fun... but that's my 2 cents. warframe is a slowburn game. You kinda just play it . Next thing you know, you have 10k hours now, and know all the niches. Play the game at a slower pace being op asf early will burn you out... unless you're like me and dont burn out easy. Also im newer still so wow cares what i have to say 😂
I am a returning player and i am going to create a new acc. As I understand, unlocking steel path is the top priority. Earlier as free2player i was grinding for xoris and broken war ( that sword from stalker as a quest reward). Not mentioning grind for base damage mods in spy or cetus missions. I agree, that for completely new player this pack will ruin progression. But i think it is ideal for gaining access to steel path asap. If you have ideas or recommendations on this topic - i wiil be glad to read them
Only thing that is honestly worth it is prime access 90 days of every booster Stuff you can never get again and platinum that you can use to buy warframes you dont want to grind for its pricy but in my opinion as a MR 33 the best bang for the buck.
@@Mastrmyrtr9tf accessory pack are you looking at? Accessory packs themselves and the 1k plat they come with, along with 3 month boosters, are 60 USD, not 140. Neither option is new player friendly, spending money at all is inherently not friendly in a f2p game, but no need to jump the price up that much to make your argument sound better.

Not to mention, the big draw of this pack is that everything you get is fully leveled. There's simply no other pack in the game that offers that kind of value for new players. As Kengi said, you'd need the pack to give you over 5 million credits and 100k Endo to give you similar value to this pack. Not to mention, if you're brand new and buy nova+rhino prime, you then need the resources to craft them. This pack is unbelievably valuable.
Sadly this game is not meant for you then. This game is 100% grind. Time, resources , parts, weapons, clans, and so on. It's designed for you to sink your time into it. Buying this pack is only a Kickstart. I suggest playing a few days actually grinding a weapon or two and at least 1 warframe to see if you wish to purchase the pack.
thank you for this video, i was contemplating on getting this pack. was a beta tester back then at 2012.. played when launched on steam at 2013. 11 years later i pickup up the game again. i was overwhelmed by the amount of content warframe has. i dont know where to start. i've subscribed for more guides :D
My issue isn't the "worth" but the true value of buying the pack. I don't think any of this is needed. I started Rhino my first day two weeks ago, and even these weeks later, I don't have all of these mods maxed out, and don't need them. Nova can be useful, but you can farm her very easily. A lot you're paying for here just doesn't need to be had any time soon, and by the time it does, you'll have most of what the pack is truly "offering." I was craving a 4.99, 9.99, and 19,99 style packs when I started two weeks ago, but by the time I checked the shop and saw this, I was a bit taken aback knowing that Rhino and Nova were only a couple days away, and a lot of the other aspects of the pack were just overkill and not what I was looking to gain for spending 19.99. I needed slots for all of the assassination frames, not mod cards. I think they should give you a pack to spend your starter 50 plat on. The 45 plat one was cool and I missed it, but leaving people with 5 plat is weird. Give us slots to work with and introduce us to spending plat on them. Then put out some cheap packs, potentially for the starter frames, and just leave them in the game. Give a slot, give a skin, give a weapon, etc, and let new players skip the wait times on farming the other starter frames. Hell, make it a dynamic pack where you get the other 2 starting frames, plus 3 skins, 3 weapon loadouts, etc. It would be sweet, and make them a lot of money. The first thing I spent plat on was Kavat Genetic Code, and simply because it's faster to farm a mod worth 20 plat than it is to farm 4 genetic code for newer players, but even that was earned through trading. I've yet to have them motivate me to give them any money, and I'm completely okay with doing so. I want my "starter" packs so I feel like I "purchased" Warframe, you know? This pack ain't it, at least, not in my opinion. I'd buy it for a kid, I'd buy it for a casual gamer/spouse you're trying to get into the game, but for anyone willing to wait a few days to get rolling, you're not truly "gaining" anything but the slots and plat in my honest opinion.
If DE is willing to just hand newer players this stuff, perhaps it's time to rethink how the game and its systems work, to be honest. You're basically telling newbies that they gotta grind their eyeballs off, or, they can have the "choice" to hand DE ~$30 to actually be able to play the game without being stuck knee-deep in grind until you can actually kill something worth a damn. Maybe instead of just handing out stuff like this, they should make improvements to Endo gains and/or Endo costs for ranking up regular mods, and perhaps speed up affinity gains a little at earlier mastery levels, like MR
I picked it up for myself sonc ei started a new account to llay with my gf. The power boost is lretty signifigant early game. Fully modded fully formaed Nova and Rhino, a 4 forma akstilletto, a 5 forma sobek with fully rnaked mods accross the board. I mean it's all stuff that i could see easily carrying through the whole story. Even up to whispers.
WF is not a p2w game. But with this pack you have wery well boosted initial conditions. At least you must have some practice on parkour and game mechanics 😁
I do think this pack might hurt DE more than it will help. One major aspect of the game is grinding and some people just don't enjoy that. So By offering this pack what they essentially did was give non-grindy players a few more hours in the game to see some more content but at the very moment they need to get further/encounter an obstacle and realize that they need to grind for it- they will leave. It is akin to the tactic mobile games use, where first couple of levels come quick and easy to give that satisfaction of completion but further wait times are long and people just drop the game because of that. So i see this going both ways: players who buy this will either get a nice power boost from the beginning and stay in the game just for the time while the power feels powerful and then drop the game when it gets hard OR players who buy the pack will appreciate the gameplay and just get a good use out of this pack to get them through the "boring" stuff and get them into the interesting stuff that comes later. But the latter are players who i feel like would enjoy the game either way- with or without the pack, so i don't know how much this pack will actually impact. Who i do think this will help, and what has been brought up before in the comments, are players who are getting into the game with friends that are WAAAAAAAY down into the loop of grinding and have been playing a long time. They could use this pack to reunite with their fellow tenno and play together sooner. Just my 10 cents, my 2 cents is free (eminem)
These are cool but the best starter pack is a friend who’s been playing the game for like 8 years and just gives you some of his spares of all the important mods for free 😂
doesnt help with issue that early game is a slog tru dead starchart with plenty of waitwalls and no interesting gameplay and removing any natural progress makes it even more boring (unless I missed DE reworking starchart last momths as well)
The grind is the content. When you spend money to skip grind, you're spending money to reduce the amount of gameplay available to you. You're paying to NOT play the game!
I really don't think this is worth it. Half the stuff in the pack is super easy to grind and most of those maxed mods would happily be given by any vet to a new player. It really seems way overpriced. They should have included Warframes that are not early game farms (ex: boss farms) such as Gyre (in place of Nova as a caster) and Nidus (in place of Rhino as a tank). They both have simple kits with some skill to learn them properly and both are later game farms. Hell something like Gauss, Hildryn, or Baruuk would work better. I could excuse the price a bit more in that case since those aren't something you can get within days of starting the game. The sobek and fragor are also both really easy grinds and should have been switched out. The point of this pack should have been to introduce new players to the game with items they can't get within days of starting imo. I also could excuse it a bit more if it was 25-30 bucks. Right now it just feels like a scam for new players like the recent Destiny pack did.
Slowly but surely DE is headed down that road. They will continue predatory monetization then apologize and the simps would eat it up. Just look at all the simps in these comments.🤣
As a Vet I say the pack is worth it, since selling all the fully upgraded mods/weapons and Warframes gives a heavy nice amount of creds if your running low on em
This is exactly the wrong way to break down what the pack is worth to a new player. You are still looking at the items from the perspective of an endgame player looking back at early missions. Rhino and Nova are both irrelevant to new players. The powers from either of them make no difference to a new player because they can't use them consistently - A NEW PLAYER DOESN'T HAVE THEIR ENERGY ECONOMY SORTED YET! Frames like Lavos or Hildryn who don't use energy or Trinity or Styanax who can just generate it for themselves would be much better picks. An honourable mention would even go to Valkyr who has so much armour that a single maxed out Steel Fibre mod being included in the pack can make her impossible to kill on normal star chart so she doesn't need to use powers. If DE really wanted to give new players a boost, the pack should unlock the Operator with Wellspring maxed out. That's the moment when players actually feel like they can start playing the game properly. The weapons with mods are fine, but how is a new player who just buys the pack supposed to understand which mods are boosting their effectiveness and how? It's all well and good giving the player a power boost, but the early game should be aiming to TEACH a player how to play it (ideally by making them feel like they're learning it for themselves)

You clearly don't know what you are talking about because you are talking from a late game stand point and you are completely missing the point of the pack. It is not suppose to give you access to endgame level weapons like Tenet/Kuva/Incarnon weapons, it's suppose to give brand new players access to weapons/gear they wouldn't have access to until the 50 hour mark at least, skipping a huge chunk of the grind for people who just want to focus on the Story.

There are many people who do spend money within the first few hours, buying a platinum pack or a prime access. Trying to educate them on the best bang for their buck somehow equates to selling out for the company? This is literally the same kind of video as his ones on how to make plat through ingame trading. Talking about a monetary service does not immediately equal selling out.

Honestly a great pack from DE, no cosmetics to try and bait in longer term players who have all the gear, no junk that would be useless to a brand new player. Just a great get up and go boost to the start of your adventures. For us more experienced players, it can also be a great gift to give a friend or significant other if they've seen us playing and want to get into the game and catch up fast.
I have no Gripe with the Items inside the Pack.... But paying AAA Full Game Price just to get a Mid Game Boost is an Instant Deal Breaker....

Games take one of two things to progress in: Time, or money. Which you have more of at any given moment and what each is worth to you is up to you to figure out.
@@lookalike4805 I look at it more like paying that price to get a friend to a point they can enjoy the game, or if I were to make a new account for any reason a price I would pay to avoid a whole lot of early game frustration. It's certainly not for everyone, and definitely not for anyone who's been playing more than about a month casually, maybe even less, but it is great to just grab someone who knows they'll like the game but hate the early stages and get them straight into the power fantasy and fun with no delay. Getting people into the game like that is a difficult balance, but it's well done here while still leaving a lot to accomplish and do.

@@stefanlewis7773 I'd say it's a bit more tedious than it should be at the start, since the start of a game is when you want the big action and excitement to draw a player in and get them hooked on the experience. But yes, that is one of their monetization strategies with certain aspects like the foundry timer and certain resource farming.
I think this is the best initiate / beginner pack that DE has ever marketed. The endo farm saving for beginners is amazing.
It really feels like that 475 platinum is specifically mostly for buying a Necramech. It baffles me that DE still have it set as a prerequisite for New War when realistically a beat up loaner build from Father would do the exact same job against those low level enemies in the brief segment you use the mech.
Getting a Railjack isn't so bad and can be done in a few hours. Getting a Necramech requires you to farm standing for days to get the necessary mineral blueprints, mine said minerals, go into the vaults to fight mechs, then wait for at least three and a half days while it builds. They removed needing to be MR1, 5 and 7 at certain points to get round the star chart, but there's still a nech shaped road block that DE really need to reconsider.

I personally would have liked if it was Nova and Styanax instead.
Nova is a great frame to include within the pack, not only does her kit contain many aspects of Warframe gameplay (Damage, Movement, etc. etc.) she is also a semi late star chart farm.
Rhino on the other hand I disagree with for a few reasons. As the very first boss (Jackal who is also a great introduction to boss farms) players can farm for a Warframe, I think that he should remain as so. Understanding the process of boss farming and the subsequent building of a Warframe as early as possible is crucial in my opinion. Continuing that, Rhino also feels like a considerable increase in power for a new player, leading to an elevated sense of progression.
As a replacement I would suggest Styanax.
Styanax has a perfect kit for new players in my opinion. A strong grouping tool, armor / shield strip (VERY important to introduce to players early on as it is crucial in late game builds) a DPS ability and energy regen. That last point is a big one. Energy, or the lack thereof is a pain point for early game players that I'm sure your aware of, Rally Point does a great job in allowing players to use their abilities semi consistently while not being able to be spammed without tools only late game players would have (Zenurik, Energize, etc. etc.) Also, as an INCREDIBLY late game farm, new players wouldn't even have the opportunity to get a Styanax for a very long time.
Overall, Rhino and Nova does work though I believe Styanax is a better option.
Mods and weapons, everything seems good there!
rhino is a much easier to understand frame, that unlike styanax also teaches new players the importance of energy management, as getting a new player to swap from styanax to any other waframe would be a major pain for them, because they have much stricter energy economy. Also, defence strip isn't valuable to new players and therefore won't teach them anything about late game and is frankly isn't needed, considering that a lot of people haven't unlocked/ don't bother with steel path
The current frames seem fine, the only frame I could see being okay to give would be harrow or trinity, leaning toward trinity because that woukd open up a area not covered by the three starters which is support.
Rhino is fine imo, since it's one of the first if not the first warframes people craft anyway. But instead of Nova a support frame would be better, since all 3 starter frames are dmg dealers. Somebody like Oberon, who is perfect for newer players with his easy to use kit, but acquired quite late in the game in what is an exceptionally annoying rng farm when people usually have stronger picks to choose from, that he rarely sees much playtime.
Absolutely not Styanax for a new player.
He has too many modern crutches compared to the earlier frames.
You wouldn't learn of the energy economy, it would be discouraging to seek different types of power since his 4 would be too good compared to earlier unlocks, and his tharros strike is very much the odd one out of defense strips as he can easily remove a chunk of shields from many things that others cannot and on top of that he has survivability through shield gate regen that gives a false sense of why you'd die on other frames.
The pack is aimed towards the new player and mid game experience so it wouldn't be good to give new players a Warframe that needs to be modded correctly with mods the new player may not even have certain mods to make the build work which may end up making more problems instead of improving the new game experience
Personally I love that the Sobek is in here. It's a fun shotgun with some effective enhancement mods that I really wanted to make good in the late game, but gets overshadowed really easily. So to have it in a starter pack lets newer players experience it with fresh eyes without the shadow of a lot of the other content dampening it, so they'll get to enjoy it the way I wish I had when I got it.
If you want to make it work in late game then check out a Sayrn Venom Dose build with Acid Rounds.

I'm a nova simp so i can appreciate them adding nova into the back but...why? Nova requires a lot of duration and minimum range to feel anything but wet paper, she is a very odd choice for a 'starter pack'. The only reason she was added with rhino is likely due to that non cannon teaser trailer for the new war where its implied we are going to kill natah, as nova was the focus.
I don't think anything in base star chart is going to challenge Nova with some fully levelled mods in her. Vitality, Stretch, Streamline, Intensify, sorted.
From saturn onward players who don't have healing will constantly be taking slash procs from grineer, and other status effects that will make them crumple.
I watch new players play the game a lot and if they don't know what they are doing and when the carrying stops like for a solo only quest, they struggle and its probably frustrating. Granted, you get the frames already maxed so you can slot mods in but without having Nova's null stars constantly being refreshed as high as possible she is wet paper @@Joe90h
Remember, you are not a new player, you know techniques to survive, a player boosted does not. Stuff you take for granted like rolling or using your operator to avoid damage is not a concept new players will know unless taught or told@@DawnAfternoon
You're concentrating on the DR (rightly for end game) but a newer player will probably be using intensify full strength MP for CC along with the damage boost like we did in the early days. While that's more of an issue in later planets farming defence missions, that's not relevant to a new player who will want more breathing space.
Level 30 enemies can kill nova pretty easily if you don't know what you are doing. Lots of slash procs and no DR due to having no narrow minded for null star particle increases, no augment mods to recast them, so you often will have low DR if any, etc@@sabreracer
Here's the issue I have with giving players fully maxed out mods: they might not be able to use them since the pack doesn't have any added forma. I guess you can buy them with the plat that comes with the pack, but than why even give players the plat to begin with?
They have 60 Capacity Minimum.... Every Single Mod will Fit without Issues...
But Yes .. the Lack of *Forma* is a Good Point ... But for the purpose of Educating The Player rather than Empowering them.
Even as a 10 year vet I still havent maxed out some of these mods for that very reason. The cost vs value of the last rank is often negligible, and makes it harder to make a decent build on new weapons /frames, especially if the default polarities aren't ideal. So I can absolutely see new players building their first weapons after using this pack and being confused why they cant use their powerful mods, or being so disappointed that they need to use lower rank mods that they'll just not bother and stagnate.
I saw a reddit post of a new player asking for help about the 5 on his sobek. It had 5 forma on it to fit the mods...

Probably would've been worth including the extra 125 plat for rushing the frames in the foundry to the overall value, bumping it to around 1380 plat total. Otherwise great analysis! I remember checking this in the market last week and being pretty surprised at the *amount* of good value in the pack.
Why would you add the plat that would have been spent rushing them when they get added fully built? They also come with free slots so there's some added plat value there as well.
I meant moreso in Ken's plat value analysis of the pack, seeing as they do come pre-built that would calculate into the minimum plat saved from buying the pack for instant access

The new player experience is extremely good right now. They've swapped the flawed mods out for real ones, they've drastically reduced junction requirements, shield gating exists, Duviri supplies plenty of Orokin Catalysts/Reactors and some powerful melees while allowing players to gain a lot of easy MR and a chance to try out equipment with fully levelled mods to get a taste of later power, and they've put some of the crappier quests as optional.
The new player experience is fine. The fact of the matter is, jumping in to a 10 year old game is difficult no matter what you do. You can't just "make the new player experience better lol" it's simply not possible.

At the end of the day, i don't think there's a great argument for buying things you can earn in game pretty easily. You still need to fight your way through the star chart, and by doing so you're going to get all of these mods and enough resources to build those weapons.
I don't think this grind is that bad. Building a Necramech and ranking up open world factions, THAT is the grind. And there's no avoiding that.

for new player on regional price - worth absolutely. I remember this grindwall as I was a noob - no endo, no credits, no forma, no slots, etc. AFAIK, many players drop WF in this state.

So for us more experienced players, might not hold great value, but for newcomers, it'll hold way more.
Problem is, when he mentioned the idea of some players not liking to play on "easy", some players only want to play on "easy" and get really annoyed when the game gets harder, which is my issue with this pack. It's giving you one of the tankiest warframes out there with all the core mods for him. Problem with that is these newer players may become the Warframe equivalent to whiny kids when things get harder for them. Bosses become more difficult, enemies will cause them to either rethink their strategies or fall, and the players will not want to change their "bash my head into the wall until breaks" strat. This is a bad thing and is typically charged with these kinds of "pay to win" style packs. Anyways, that's my sight of this whole thing.
I'm relatively new to warframe (sub 100 hours) and think this pack would have only hurt me; I've managed to get by most content without much difficulty anyways until I hit what feels like a wall around obtaining Necramech parts for a New War. You can pretty comfortably play nearly exclusively story content and star-chart nodes on the path to the next junction all the way up to this wall. I think getting that gear wouldn't help as much as you need to catch up with MR.

I will mention that this pack is a much better buy than something like the new war power bundle for someone looking to advice someone else to rush to steel path and play with their more experienced friends. As that is a pretty common scenario nowadays : there's a bunch of friends who have already grinded to steel path. A new friend wants to play but nobody really wants to play with them because they aren't steel path ready. With a bit of research and buying the initiate pack you could easily either boost yourself or get boosted to new war in like maybe a day for the more dedicated gamers. The main grind to skip with the plat here is the necramech. Which normally requires a huge wait for the faction rep for the necralisk itself not to mention the actual wait for the necramech itself which is enormous.
Honestly it's a good pack, maybe it should have come with a few formal as well, but coming with everything already leveled up is a revolutionary addition

After playing for hundreds of hours, I recognize the huge value in the ranked up mods this pack offers, so it is a "good deal". But your last point stands: knowing myself, I would still not get the pack if I started fresh. I just enjoy the fresh start on every game too much. It is fun to start from nothing and find out where stuff drops, farm them, and in this way build your toolset. That is the core gameplay loop here, and I think the mentality of "it's a marathon, not a sprint" can give you the peace of mind that you don't need everything immediately.

The power pack really just removes the hook of the looter shooter gameplay by making it extremely monotonous to go through the startchart just devastating everything.
You'd kinda need to get hooked by the story quests alone, and in time their quality has dropped.
Further counter point, if you're the sort of player that stuck through the old early game, this pack wasn't ever going to marketed at you. This is for the player that hops in because a friend told them Warframe is good then gets shafted when a new update comes out that they can't take part in because they're still working their way around the map and haven't found a frame or weapon yet that they gel with.
Warframe needs to fix its high turnover, and some people genuinely will choose to pay for this sort of skip. I don't think it's perfect, but it's not egregious.

Hey I was wondering if you could look into Qorvex's 1st ability, it has a visual interaction with the grimoire and vauban's 4th ability and I'm not sure how it scales or what else it interacts with.

also got one more downside. u entered game buy this packet . cool rhino etc. since they are new players, they cant use focus schools so zenurik is of the chart. warframes tend to use energy, energy comes from mostly enemies and loots. no problem so far. How they get energy orbs? ın fast paced games like this collection of energy kinda low to me. Atleast they shoulda add companion durability mods so newbies really benefit from warframes.

I have to say this was such a fun pack. I bought the cheap Warframes volt Excalibur and I had mag. Now I just mix and match while playing the star chart. I’d definitely recommend to anyone you know likes this style game but would like to enjoy the beginning a little more due to the story being kinda hard to follow at first.

It's funny over there it's 32 quid, which is roughly 41 dollars
way too expensive. $30 would be tempting but id rather just buy the 1k plat for 50 bucks as a new player. Source: Im new and opted to not buy it and got plat instead. rhino is too easy to get i had him building on day 2 and built on day three and instead used my plat to buy 2 different warframes i wanted and some good guns. much better imo. got the exact guys i wanted and guns i wanted and got rhino along the way.
Im getting back into the game (@ mr7) after a year and a half break bc of college..... but my 2 cents about this back is its insane value but its a warp straight to "intermediate" game as someone who bought prime access (khora i just like the frame) and pretty much skipped most of the early game and now im going back to do early game shit its less fun... but that's my 2 cents. warframe is a slowburn game. You kinda just play it . Next thing you know, you have 10k hours now, and know all the niches. Play the game at a slower pace being op asf early will burn you out... unless you're like me and dont burn out easy. Also im newer still so wow cares what i have to say 😂
I am a returning player and i am going to create a new acc. As I understand, unlocking steel path is the top priority. Earlier as free2player i was grinding for xoris and broken war ( that sword from stalker as a quest reward). Not mentioning grind for base damage mods in spy or cetus missions. I agree, that for completely new player this pack will ruin progression. But i think it is ideal for gaining access to steel path asap.

Only thing that is honestly worth it is prime access 90 days of every booster Stuff you can never get again and platinum that you can use to buy warframes you dont want to grind for its pricy but in my opinion as a MR 33 the best bang for the buck.
Hoesntly better to buy the prime accessory pack and use the plat from those to buy the prime version from the market

Neither option is new player friendly, spending money at all is inherently not friendly in a f2p game, but no need to jump the price up that much to make your argument sound better.

Not to mention, the big draw of this pack is that everything you get is fully leveled. There's simply no other pack in the game that offers that kind of value for new players. As Kengi said, you'd need the pack to give you over 5 million credits and 100k Endo to give you similar value to this pack.
Not to mention, if you're brand new and buy nova+rhino prime, you then need the resources to craft them. This pack is unbelievably valuable.
So this is how they decided to let people pay to skip ahead.

Sadly this game is not meant for you then. This game is 100% grind. Time, resources , parts, weapons, clans, and so on. It's designed for you to sink your time into it. Buying this pack is only a Kickstart. I suggest playing a few days actually grinding a weapon or two and at least 1 warframe to see if you wish to purchase the pack.
thank you for this video, i was contemplating on getting this pack. was a beta tester back then at 2012.. played when launched on steam at 2013. 11 years later i pickup up the game again. i was overwhelmed by the amount of content warframe has. i dont know where to start. i've subscribed for more guides :D
My issue isn't the "worth" but the true value of buying the pack. I don't think any of this is needed. I started Rhino my first day two weeks ago, and even these weeks later, I don't have all of these mods maxed out, and don't need them. Nova can be useful, but you can farm her very easily. A lot you're paying for here just doesn't need to be had any time soon, and by the time it does, you'll have most of what the pack is truly "offering."
I was craving a 4.99, 9.99, and 19,99 style packs when I started two weeks ago, but by the time I checked the shop and saw this, I was a bit taken aback knowing that Rhino and Nova were only a couple days away, and a lot of the other aspects of the pack were just overkill and not what I was looking to gain for spending 19.99. I needed slots for all of the assassination frames, not mod cards.
I think they should give you a pack to spend your starter 50 plat on. The 45 plat one was cool and I missed it, but leaving people with 5 plat is weird. Give us slots to work with and introduce us to spending plat on them. Then put out some cheap packs, potentially for the starter frames, and just leave them in the game. Give a slot, give a skin, give a weapon, etc, and let new players skip the wait times on farming the other starter frames. Hell, make it a dynamic pack where you get the other 2 starting frames, plus 3 skins, 3 weapon loadouts, etc. It would be sweet, and make them a lot of money.
The first thing I spent plat on was Kavat Genetic Code, and simply because it's faster to farm a mod worth 20 plat than it is to farm 4 genetic code for newer players, but even that was earned through trading. I've yet to have them motivate me to give them any money, and I'm completely okay with doing so. I want my "starter" packs so I feel like I "purchased" Warframe, you know?
This pack ain't it, at least, not in my opinion. I'd buy it for a kid, I'd buy it for a casual gamer/spouse you're trying to get into the game, but for anyone willing to wait a few days to get rolling, you're not truly "gaining" anything but the slots and plat in my honest opinion.

Buying the grimoire mods so i can skip the abysmal drop chances for 20 minutes of Munio, grinding the much easier tennokai mods in solo Alchemy
If DE is willing to just hand newer players this stuff, perhaps it's time to rethink how the game and its systems work, to be honest. You're basically telling newbies that they gotta grind their eyeballs off, or, they can have the "choice" to hand DE ~$30 to actually be able to play the game without being stuck knee-deep in grind until you can actually kill something worth a damn. Maybe instead of just handing out stuff like this, they should make improvements to Endo gains and/or Endo costs for ranking up regular mods, and perhaps speed up affinity gains a little at earlier mastery levels, like MR
I picked it up for myself sonc ei started a new account to llay with my gf. The power boost is lretty signifigant early game. Fully modded fully formaed Nova and Rhino, a 4 forma akstilletto, a 5 forma sobek with fully rnaked mods accross the board. I mean it's all stuff that i could see easily carrying through the whole story. Even up to whispers.

I do think this pack might hurt DE more than it will help. One major aspect of the game is grinding and some people just don't enjoy that. So By offering this pack what they essentially did was give non-grindy players a few more hours in the game to see some more content but at the very moment they need to get further/encounter an obstacle and realize that they need to grind for it- they will leave. It is akin to the tactic mobile games use, where first couple of levels come quick and easy to give that satisfaction of completion but further wait times are long and people just drop the game because of that.
So i see this going both ways: players who buy this will either get a nice power boost from the beginning and stay in the game just for the time while the power feels powerful and then drop the game when it gets hard
OR
players who buy the pack will appreciate the gameplay and just get a good use out of this pack to get them through the "boring" stuff and get them into the interesting stuff that comes later. But the latter are players who i feel like would enjoy the game either way- with or without the pack, so i don't know how much this pack will actually impact.
Who i do think this will help, and what has been brought up before in the comments, are players who are getting into the game with friends that are WAAAAAAAY down into the loop of grinding and have been playing a long time. They could use this pack to reunite with their fellow tenno and play together sooner.

You would only get a fraction of the Endo that it would take to level the mods if you want to buy Endo just trade for sculptures

doesnt help with issue that early game is a slog tru dead starchart with plenty of waitwalls and no interesting gameplay and removing any natural progress makes it even more boring (unless I missed DE reworking starchart last momths as well)

I really don't think this is worth it. Half the stuff in the pack is super easy to grind and most of those maxed mods would happily be given by any vet to a new player. It really seems way overpriced. They should have included Warframes that are not early game farms (ex: boss farms) such as Gyre (in place of Nova as a caster) and Nidus (in place of Rhino as a tank). They both have simple kits with some skill to learn them properly and both are later game farms. Hell something like Gauss, Hildryn, or Baruuk would work better. I could excuse the price a bit more in that case since those aren't something you can get within days of starting the game.
The sobek and fragor are also both really easy grinds and should have been switched out. The point of this pack should have been to introduce new players to the game with items they can't get within days of starting imo. I also could excuse it a bit more if it was 25-30 bucks. Right now it just feels like a scam for new players like the recent Destiny pack did.
Slowly but surely DE is headed down that road.

This is exactly the wrong way to break down what the pack is worth to a new player. You are still looking at the items from the perspective of an endgame player looking back at early missions.
Rhino and Nova are both irrelevant to new players. The powers from either of them make no difference to a new player because they can't use them consistently - A NEW PLAYER DOESN'T HAVE THEIR ENERGY ECONOMY SORTED YET! Frames like Lavos or Hildryn who don't use energy or Trinity or Styanax who can just generate it for themselves would be much better picks. An honourable mention would even go to Valkyr who has so much armour that a single maxed out Steel Fibre mod being included in the pack can make her impossible to kill on normal star chart so she doesn't need to use powers.
If DE really wanted to give new players a boost, the pack should unlock the Operator with Wellspring maxed out. That's the moment when players actually feel like they can start playing the game properly.
The weapons with mods are fine, but how is a new player who just buys the pack supposed to understand which mods are boosting their effectiveness and how? It's all well and good giving the player a power boost, but the early game should be aiming to TEACH a player how to play it (ideally by making them feel like they're learning it for themselves)
zenurik is already unnecessary, doubly so for newer players...
@@omnie22 "necessary" is a charged term. Very little is necessary in Warframe. The question is what's fun in order to keep new players playing? I'm telling you now, preaching what you think is "necessary" at them won't keep them around.
That's me not engaging with the utterly stupid idea that somehow newer players are getting twice as much energy without Zenurik compared to endgame players who actually have other methods of generating it...

You clearly don't know what you are talking about because you are talking from a late game stand point and you are completely missing the point of the pack.
It is not suppose to give you access to endgame level weapons like Tenet/Kuva/Incarnon weapons, it's suppose to give brand new players access to weapons/gear they wouldn't have access to until the 50 hour mark at least, skipping a huge chunk of the grind for people who just want to focus on the Story.

There are many people who do spend money within the first few hours, buying a platinum pack or a prime access. Trying to educate them on the best bang for their buck somehow equates to selling out for the company? This is literally the same kind of video as his ones on how to make plat through ingame trading. Talking about a monetary service does not immediately equal selling out.
