I had a level 3 holster that my brother in law got from the national guard. I played with it awhile but yeah it was like trying to unlock a middle school locker before the bully rounds the corner. Gave it to a friend I didn't like lol

Great analogy...depends on the job...if I was LE going into peoples nasty apartments with people everywhere I'd prob want a level 3

@@DanTheWolfman If you were running or had to climb a fence . Would these Dara Holsters retain your gun from falling out ? I have a job that requires I carry . But also requires I climb ladders . Get on roofs . Even occasional go on high rise structures yet closed in . New safety guidelines because someone lost their gun . Require I have a Level II setup. Dara and Hammer Armament are the only places that make holsters for the gun I carry. It's hard to see in pictures . Although it appears Dara's hood system is better quality . IS it ?

@@cramerlong2276 You literally see a Hood retaining it in the video besides it being locked in. It's a certified level 2 retention holster...so yeah. Get the Dara level 2 or the Alien Gear level 3.

@@DanTheWolfman really good review! Any tips on setting one up in a drop leg configuration? I got mine for my kit set up but I’m not 100 on how I should be rigging it.

If your 100% aware of your surroundings you won't need a holster like that! The only real weapon you have is your brain! EVERYTHING ELSE IS ANCILLARY!! I digress. Good video. 👍

Good video Dan with some flaws. You don't show that a weapon is clear by racking the slide back and then pulling the trigger. You lock the slide back and show an empty chamber. Doesn't matter if no one is around or if it's just for the video. Always show an empty chamber. Also, don't dry-fire your weapon. I've seen too many people train by dry firing and the firearm ends up at the gun Smith. I was in Law Enforcement for 21 years and I've been doing armed security for 8 years. I've trained with the best firearms instructors in my state. Not trying to give you a hard time. I will be calling Dara next week to order my level 2. I'm replacing my Safariland level 2 which I've had for over 15 years. Overall good video. Stay safe.

Lol, enclosed range Camera angle wouldn't allow the scared people across the internet in the future to see well into the chamber...maybe it's for UA-cam employees...., and HK don't give a crap if I dryfire it's not an old .22. Alien Gear's pretty fast intuitive Level 3 is also worth consideration Depends on your environment and how much protection from rear or getting sucker punched you may need
