    I think when he said he put 600k in the kids college fund, he was saying the kids', plural, as in a fund for all four of them. I dont think he meant it as instead of just saying his daughter's name. But i can definitely see the confusion.

    If he did provide money to the kids, he provided financial support. It doesn't seem like he did any of the other things that a parent should though like be there emotionally or support them in their interests. Perhaps it's more complicated. i mean him providing 600k college funds unconditionally seems like supporting their interests cuz she was able to go to be a screen writer ,a famously unsuccessful degree and one of his kids is teaching english to first graders in a poor nation over seas which also doesnt pay well. both these things are passion projects that alot of people would look down on, i dont agree with those people but yeah i wouldnt say he didnt support them in his interests and id love 600k so i could go and get my mechanical engineer degree but i have to pay out of pocket like 90% of the other non trustfund babies. tho yes agreed he wasnt there physically and emotionally and thats shitty but i think absent father that provides for his family vs a deadbeat that runs off from his family to pursue his own life are two very different things ,both are varying levels of bad but one is putting food on the table and is a parent still, the other is sub human.

The mom didn't have the choice of moving away and not dealing w the kids like he did

      It is very hard to come to a definitive conclusion with the little information we've got, all we can do is to assume. I am on the camp that believes that it is likely that the ex-wife badmouthed him to the kids constantly, which soured the relationship and created this divide.
      I say this because, not only is it a common occurrence on divorces, for the one with the kids to almost weaponize them against the other parent; but also because he lived close to them, I may have grown up with both my parents, but if my parent lived one mile away from my house I'd visit them every now and then. But, according to her, she has never been to his house, which is odd. The more plausible reasons are either because the mother didn't allow them, the father/new-wife didn't allow them to visit, or- because they never wanted to visit him because they had a negative perception of him, due to how they trusted their mother and she told them how terrible of a person he was.
      But again, it's just an assumption. He could very likely be a piece of shit, and her mother a sweetheart.

      @@LikeAFemaleDog a kid doesn't need a parent in their ear telling them anything to see w their own eyes that the other parent isn't around or doesn't even know their birthday. a parent who wants to be an active part in their kids life wouldn't move states away. and if the mom truly wasn't allowing the dad in their life, a good parent would take them to court. he had enough money for attorneys. i'm just not buying it

    • @LikeAFemaleDog
      @LikeAFemaleDog 7 місяців тому +21

      @@evtv304 True, but if a 5 year old asks her mother, "Why isn't Daddy home?" and the mother doesn't explain it properly, or doesn't try to defend him, the child could very well grow with some resentment on their own. They'd attribute their actions to malice, even when they could very well have valid reasons.
      But you do bring out some good points, him not remembering the birthday is weird, he never mentioned that he visited them, and she says he was never around, so we could assume he never did, which is weird, considering he "lived 1-2 miles away." It is just odd how, neither party wanted to be around one another. Only justification I can think of is due to work (although not really,) or due to bad blood between him and the wife, making it a bad environment to be around, specially kids.
      But again, we don't know. I don't think we, as outsiders, should spend much time, or do anything about it in the end. I feel like the people who messaged her, or her father are in the wrong, as they're almost treating it like a fictional story, with fictional characters, and we are the "detectives trying to solve the case."

    I feel for this girl, my biological father was literally a criminal, which I won’t get into, and I’m GLAD I have zero contact with him, but it’s much easier to deal with it all by laughing and trying to make it a silly story version. I’ve talked out the hard details in therapy and I much prefer now to just consider it a crazy experience in my childhood, and I’m extremely grateful that my mother is the person she is, because she’s so loving and supportive, so I don’t care that he’s not in my life.
    If I had made a fun version of it on TikTok and he hit back with HIS version of things, I’d be *pissed* because I KNOW he would lie. Lie and deny and massage the story so much and add delusional shit in.
    This girl’s dad doesn’t come across at all like an evil person, just someone weird and, well… eccentric maybe. Whether he told the truth or not, you can tell he’s an oddball. I can’t say I’m not impressed at his dedication to breakdancing though!

Breakdancing dad sounds like a narcissist, an asshole, and a bad father. He deserves to have his kids not talk to him. But he's not a monster, he kept supporting his kids in the shallow way he wanted to. He deserves every way his kids treat him, but I don't think he deserves to be "cancelled" or lose his job or something. But the internet seems to lump him and others like him in with monsters, which gives me a sense of "boy who cried wolf."

    Tbh I think the Tucker comparison tainted your view on the guys video. He makes a solid argument from a standpoint who wants to see his kid grow. He understands that what she views is true to her own experience. When he said, and I’m paraphrasing, that though what she believes might have slight details skewed, speaks to a bigger truth, says a lot. I think he understands in this scenario there can be multiple right answers to the question. Did she feel abandoned? Yes, and that’s okay. Did he abandon the family? No, and that’s also okay that she doesn’t immediately see that. It’s just a divorce with more emotion, not necessarily abandonment. But you can still feel the feeling of abandonment.
    I can’t speak on his personal relationship with his daughter, but by the way he presents himself, I believe he in no way wants to tarnish his daughter’s reputation or familial relationships. He addresses his POV in a way that does not attack hers, but shows in a way (as a father should) the reality of the situation.
    TL;DR The guy gave some good insight, they can both be right.

    I mean based on what was said the fact is that the dad abandoned the family. But its also true that before and during the abandonment he gave them a tremendous amount of money that should have easily sustained them through childhood and if smartly invested then also their adult lives as well. Yes, growing up without a dad is tragic, but at least they can work through that trauma with resources greater than 99% of the population.
