- Duewag tram classics between glittering skyscrapers - Germany's financial metropolis has a lot to offer for the eye! There are three vehicle types in use on the tram network: 5 cars of the Pt series from the 1970s, the first low-floor types from the 1990s and the current “Flexity Classic” series by Bombardier.
The Frankfurt U-Bahn is actually a light rail system with three underground trunk lines in the city center and above-ground sections on the outskirts.

7:12 Die Konstablerwache ist einer von nur ganz weniger Bahnhöfen in Deutschland, bei denen man am selben Bahnsteig von der S-Bahn auf die U-Bahn umsteigen kann. Die anderen sind Köln-Chorweiler, München Neuperlach Süd, Berlin Wuhletal und Leinenfeld. (Desweitern kann man auch Norderstedt Mittte hinzuzählen, wenn man die AKN als S-Bahn sieht)

2:10 Es gibt 3 Museumsfahrzeuge 128, 138 und 148 ;) Alle 3 sind in Orange Elfenbein Grau lackiert.

Yes, a great invention by Duewag. But probably difficult to repair, especially when they're not really needed...
Super Video (Wie erwartet). Kleiner Fehler: Es gibt insgesamt noch 7 Pt-Wagen im Einsatz auf der 15, 17 und 18 [18 nur früh HVZ] (128, 138, 148, 720, 727, 736, 749), die Wagen 128, 138, 148 sind die Museumsfahrzeuge (Stadtwerke Lackierung).
Meine Lieblingswagen ist der O-Wagen. Und ich hasse den S-Wagen ;)

Honestly, I hate the company alstom. I think their products are just hideous. Im dreading the day they introduce those ugly new pointy nose trams. I don't like alstoms design choices. The look of the tram Is too aggressive and doesn't fit in with the rest of the city's mobility. I think Frankfurt could have chosen a nicer looking train. They could have gone with the siemens avenio which also has a pointy head but just looks less terrible. Even in the US, Alstom made the worst looking train ever, the avelia liberty.
Omg, it looks like a duck on wheels. I also disagree to many modern train design choices and prefer the designs from the 1970s to 90s.
Frankfurt has stopped the cooperation with DüWag/ SIemens because of the R1-Wagen fiasko.
Because Siemens delivered such poorly designed products. Well i don´t know what Frankfurt was expecting when they gave Siemens only 3 Months to design the type R1.
Eventually the type R2 was built and there were even plans for the Type R3, but like i said, Frankfurt stopped the order for 100 Type R when they got those 40 poorly designed Tramways.
Siemens even wanted to give Frankfurt 60 Combino Trams as a Replacement for the 60 missing Type R Trams, but Frankfurt declined and shortly after, the Bombardier Type S was bought.
