His grandfather and grandmother's story mirrored my uncle and aunt. She took care of him as long as she could at home until one day he overpowered her for some task she wouldn't let him do, because she knew he no longer could. She wound up injured and sadly he had to go to assisted living to live the rest of his days.

Love David. A brilliant and very funny man. I just lost my Dad because of this horrible disease after 14 years. It's also referred to as The Long Goodbye. So sad indeed.

I am sorry. My husband has end stage Parkinson’s with severe dementia. He has been declining for almost 20 years. I had to give up caring for him when I got a compression fracture in my spine from trying, yet again, to lift him from the floor. He is still home, but the pain of all this is beyond description.

My grandpa had Alzheimer’s in the 1980 was still considered dementia... 😭 as his granddaughter, I am a candidate hence it skips a generation. I’m 50... should I get tested?😭
