Other DIY UA-cam channels please take note: This is a do it YOURSELF project. Most channels use an entire "team" of specialists and call it a DIY. Matt did this entire project almost completely by HIMSELF (i.e. true DIY). Certainly, he had some awesome, rockstar helpers from time-to-time, but overall, for this size project, this is the definition of do it YOURSELF! He made do with the resources at hand and completed a truly large and fantastic project. Amazing craftsmanship as always! The video series was fun and super informative!
Nice build... I watched them all. Enjoyed it and i used to live on property like that in Pa. Now on a good piece in Arizona and need to build a couple of sheds...thanks and Merry Xmas
Built one like yours except did a steel door instead of double in the front, and flush ceiling for attic space. I used your videos alot, thank you so much.
Thank you so much for doing that! I know how long it takes to edit vids and I've only started doing screen recordings, so far... Looking forward to building my first shed!!
Hey Matt! I am loving your videos, thank you! I am getting ready to make some doors for my shed... I'm going to wall off the end of my long, narrow shop and turn that space into a shed. This means I'll have to build a taller floor to match the height of my foundation, and somehow have a ramp that I can use to wheel things into my shed. I think you mentioned a plan for a ramp in this video. Did you do that? Do you have any wisdom you can share with me? Thank you! I've subscribed! :)
Nice shed, and great work! What do you estimate this shed project ended up costing you? I am hoping to build something similar in the spring. Was wondering what your material costs were. Thanks!
Thanks for the finale. Was nice to see it especially from the inside! So you move the warm weather toys out here in winter and vice versa for summer? Good idea. Hey, I didn't see the mig-flux welder we talked about (haha). Happy Thanksgiving to you and your loved ones!
Ultimately the plan is to be organized enough to keep all the toys out there all the time. Frees up the garage for my toys :) Stay tuned - the welder will be back very, very soon ... Thanks for sticking with me on this one MRrwmac! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours as well. Matt
Great series Matt! Lots of detail. I built a medium size shed a few years ago and now want to build a larger one. Picked up some good pointers from your videos. Thanks! On a side note -- what part of the country do you live in? I'm in eastern Oregon and your gorgeous property looks much like western Oregon.
Great series. Thinking about building a 12x16 shed myself. Could you do a small video of the shed now? How it handle the whether, tractor, general use, etc? Also, did you end up building a ramp up into the shed? Thanks!
If we get a day above freezing! I've been meaning to do a "follow up on a bunch of stuff" video anyway. I didn't build a ramp (yet), but I do have a scrap of wall material that I can use ad-hoc. So far she's holding up great. I should have used longer nails on some of the trim, and the doors sagged just a little, but no serious problems.
Great video series and in my opinion enough detail to figure it out. I was wondering how the floor is using the 2x4's vs 2x6's. Do you get a lot of bounce or sag?
Absolutely none. I've even had my tractor in there without incident. I think the 2x4's with the closer spacing might actually be stiffer than the 2x6's would be on traditional centers. Having a rock solid (pun intended) foundation helps a lot too. If you were doing deck blocks, or something else without as much ground contact, it might be different.
Great bunch of video's. Appreciate them and all your work providing them. What part of the country are you at? With the weather and all ...... I live in Wisconsin and looks kinda the same. Again Thanks
Kind of depends on how you count it Ryan. I generally say about $2000, but it was probably closer to $2500 with tools, permits, and some pro-rated portion of the utility trailer.
I'm looking to get/build one but trying to decide it's worth my time. I can purchase one for $4,000 delivered. So I'm on the fence if my time is worth the saving $1500.
"most of us"? I must have missed that survey. I found it all interesting and anything that could be considered "off-topic" was a nice break from just talking about construction, although that's just my opinion and I'd never be condescending enough to imply that I speak for the majority.

Great series of shed building videos!! I watched your videos before building my own backyard shed. Thanks!
Matt, you did a great job on "ALL" your video's. I watched all of the shed video's, as I plan on building one myself. you gave me the great idea's.
I've watched just about all the 16 videos, very interesting and helpful - thanks for thanking the time to video
Nice job with the shed and video.
thanks for the shed building tutorial, really helpful.
Thanks Matt, I enjoyed this series! As soon as we find our new home, I'll be building a shed and yours is a great guide. Charlie

Great job Matt
When it comes to shed, always build one 4X bigger then what you need lol.
Nice shed, and great work! What do you estimate this shed project ended up costing you? I am hoping to build something similar in the spring. Was wondering what your material costs were. Thanks!

Thanks Larry! I'm western, but it's western PA :) North of Pittsburgh, but not quite to Lake Erie.

how about a shed update video
what size is the shed
How much did this cost you all said and done?

No disrespect and thanks for posting but dang man you just talk a bit to much about stuff that does not interest most of us.
