- In this video,Mr. Quarshie a very experienced onion farmer, shares knowledge with us on how to plant onions, the best seeds to use,the best season, the best maintainance to implement and also helped us with a budget for farming onion on an acre of land.
Onion farming doesn't require a huge sum of money to start and it is very profitable.
Despite the challenges we face as young start ups in Africa,we must put in all efforts and take advantage of our fertile lands and favorable weather to make Agriculture attractive.
The youth of Africa must be involved in food production and Agriculture in general
because obviously there are a lot of opportunities in the sector.
We can export to other countries like
United States of America,Europe and other places.

My name is Efo Selasi and I make videos of entrepreneurs, talents and tourist attractions in Africa.
There are a lot of potentials and talents on the continent of Africa that can change the economy positively but without these stories being told and possibilities exposed, we will remain in the dark.
Especially in Agriculture, the prospects are endless. The youth need to be aware of these opportunities in order to take advantage of them that is why I started creating videos back in 2019.

Efo, you answered most of the questions in the view but two. How wide should the bed for the onions be and how many lines should be planted in a horizontally or row per bed? This video gives a general idea of onion farming and everything can easily be calculated using those numbers, thanks a lot
Thank you boss. I’ll get that information for you the next time I visit Mr Quarshie.

Efo Selassie, thanks for the video. But you missed the cost of the bed/ridges in your interview.
I will humbly suggest that before carrying out the interview you acquaint yourself with the process first and then ask question in sequence with the process and cost every process to make a more beneficial view. Thank you for helping Africa. God bless you
I don't know for now but during our onion farming exercise with my dad, we've never used pesticide but use to have high yields. Our only problem was storage and preservation
Good to know. Every area is different, where is your farm?

You can.
Hi try to convert your currency in US dollar for us out side the country to understand
Thanks for the feed back.
Since some of your viewers are not from Ghana could you convert the cost to Dollar next time. Thanks. Watching from Nigeria.
Alright I will,thank you.
I'm curious about how his beds have been made. What informed that method? Is it because his land is prone to flooding or its a way to harvest the water to water the onions?
I believe it's for both reasons. There's a dam in the area that is used to irrigate so there farms are leveled in a way that ensures water flows to every farm in the area and back into the dam.
Please i need onion seed to buy
I want to know more about the land preparation because my onion root rot last year and I don't want it to happen this year
Alright I will work on that for you.
You both are champ Congratulations 👍
