Sometimes, even when you're late, you're exactly where you need to be. You put a lot of good into the world, Katrina. Thank you for sharing this piece of your Grandpa and your family's history with us. May his memory be a blessing.
Disappointment is a strong word, I don't think that necessarily applies to being late every time. Being on time is very important to some people, sure. But everybody has different things that they value highly. I've probably disappointed my grandparents a lot by showing up in jeans and tshirt, rather than something nicer, cause they value appearance a lot. 5 minutes late to coffee to me is basically on time ^^ But I also totally get that life is busy and things (or lost tourists) get in the way, so I still wouldn't say I'm disappointed if someone is later :) So so much good has already come out of you :) Thank you for sharing your family's story. May the good memories of your grandfather live on.
Thanks for sharing this about your grandpa. It sounds like you learned a lot from him. I think you demonstrate a lot of care and respect for others, and it shows in many ways - I'm sure people feel that even when you're late.
I love hearing about how your family shapes your identity. I also have a feeling that many of the people you're late for know you're the type of person who stops and helps people!
