- Actor Christopher Reeve, known for his role as Superman, died in 2004 nine years after he was paralyzed in a horseback riding accident. Dana Reeve died from lung cancer just a year-and-a-half later. Will Reeve, now 26, discusses overcoming such tremendous grief at a young age, pursuing a career in sports journalism and continuing his parents' work to cure paralysis. In a note to his 13-year-old self, he says there's nowhere to go but up after his lowest point.

Will is the perfect combination of his mother and father both physically, emotionally, and of course - within. What a fine gentleman he has grown in to. Will, your father and mother are looking down on you and are so proud of the man you have become.
This made me cry.. what a lovely tribute to his parents and to the couple that he stayed with.. very touching ❤️

The story of the Reeves family always breaks my heart. The world was better when they were in it. We lost the real world Superman and Lois Lane. And like the comic, they raised one heck of good son.

I think his parents raised him with lots of love. I also think they prepared him for the worst also.

My brother became a quadriplegic at age 20 due to a gymnastics accident. I know what a horrific thing it is for the victim and the family. It takes great courage and grace to deal with it. My brother was my hero and so was Chris Reeve. Both so strong. Seems like Will is strong too. So happy he had good people to care for him. My best wishes to you Will!

Why was what happened
I am a mother of 20 year old boy girl twins and a 23 year old son. This really teared me up. Christoper and Dana did a great job with this young man. Thank you for sharing the love.

What a strong young man. Losing both parents over a short period of time is enough to drive anyone crazy.
He's remarkable. All this kid went through and yet he turned out to be a wonderful young man. They ARE proud of you Will.

I'm speechless...and teary-eyed. I'm so glad his Mom had someone she trusted enough to raise him and it seems like she made the perfect choice because he has turned out to be a wonderful person just like his Mom and Dad.
I lost track of their son and always worried about him.Now I watch this and I see he is just fine.What a wonderful tribute to his late parents.Will ,You are awesome !!

This reminds me of the quote from the first superman film,the father becomes the son,the son becomes the father. Will is a mini version of his dad,his parents did an amazing job raising a talented lad who embodies his parentts same talents
He was raised well by his parent and adoptive parents. So lucky to have neighbors like them who became his guardians

Heartbreaking but at the same time so Heartwarming and uplifting. It gives great Hope for Humanity.
Will, there is a lower point in life than losing your parents, and that is losing your child. My 86 year old grandmother cried at my 58 year old fathers' funeral as if he were a lifeless infant! I dread that experience and commiserate with parents who suffer that absolute helplessness!
Did you lose both parents at that young of an age and within two years apart? Probably not, so you really have no idea. Only someone like himself, can speak from his personal perspective
