i played the originals on ps1 when they were out. the remastered version looks great and pretty much exactly like the old games. I've had more fun and found it more challenging then most new games out now.

Sidenote - Crash 2 was the first Crash game I owned (I later got 1 for being good at the dentist).
For anyone who doesn't know, when you perform a slide-jump if you immediately spin upon jumping, you'll go higher. for reference, a normal jump is about 2 boxes high, a crouch or slide-jump is 3 boxes high, and a spin after a slide-jump (specifically a slide-jump, not when crouching nor when doing a regular jump will this work, at least as far as I've got to work) is 4 boxes high. the ability to jump extra high helps tremendously when going for the relics, as you can jump gaps that normally weren't meant to be jumped over, may not save the most time, but it adds up and is quite satisfying. It can also help increase your reaction time from having extra air-time. You can also get over 99 lives, a video showing this is quite easy to find, you just leave the level after you collect a life, but before it's actually added to your count. These aren't new, been there since the original, but it's nice to know regardless.

This game actually looks a lot more forgiving than the original version. Less reinforced crates near the end of that second boulder level, for example. I guess it makes it a little more accessible, but there's something special about that nail-biting last-second grab at victory!
I don't know whether anyone else feels like this but these games don't seem as bright and colourful as the old ones to me? But I mean still, it's amazing that such iconic games were remade at Ray kills them every time.

I completely disagree. 1 new game in 2017 can cost upwards of 60 dollars. 3 games for 20 dollars less than that is a steal, especially a remaster of pretty much everyone's favorite childhood games. Not to mention, the developers put in COUNTLESS amount of hours to code these games, as the original code was pretty much all useless.
These games do such a good job of teaching patience as a kid. I only had the third one and wrath of cortex sadly though, third was great but wrath or cortex not so much.
So frustrating to watch you miss all the hidden areas but I have to say for a first timer you're not bad. I haven't had time to go buy the game and use my friends ps4 so I'm playing vicariously through you because crash is everything to me and I can't wait to play lol

It is NOT a 2.5D platformer. LIMBO and INSIDE count as 2.5D because you cannot move off the left-right axis. A game is NOT 2.5D just because the path to the goal is linear. If you can move in all three dimensions, it's a 3D game.

this is no more difficult then the original. You just don't remember dying as much as a kid as you didn't care as much. You just cared about playing. So you ether used trial and error and fumbled your way thru as a kid or you gave up and never finished it.
