+Mike Baker I guess his cold disgust is more hurtful than anger and bloodlust... emotionally. When you are safe and sound of course, or else being speared is a strong candidate in the hurting thing.
Well I am just sitting here like..."Well why dont you open the door and see if she is dead. Try me sans I might be scared of you but you dont know where I am so you cant hurt me! -.-"
"AND, AND, I MISS UNDYNE, TOO. SHE NEVER ANSWERS MY PHONE CALLS... SHE MUST BE HAVING A LOT OF FUN ON VACATION. I JUST WISH SHE'D SEND A POST CARD" That brings tears to my eyes.
Yep I think he’s just trying not to teach a child about death because he doesn’t know if they killed anybody or not, so he doesn’t really want to point out that she died and interprets it in a different way It just gives me a skele-ton of chills down to the spine
I like how the endings here slowly turn from "you fucked everything up big time and we don't want your ass back here again" to "We love you, we're doing fine, we need to meet again!"
+SuperLlama42 "WHATEVER YOU DID... COULD YOU PLEASE BRING HER FRIENDS BACK? SHE'S... NOT DOING VERY WELL..." G'awww... my heart!!! I'm blue now... that's his attack. ;_;
To be honest, I find the Papyrus only ending the most depressing. He doesn't know the truth, and he has a sprite never seen anywhere else in the game. I guess Sans knows he couldn't take the truth.
Actually, in one of the rooms where you can see the CORE, he makes the face after he says you're getting close. This is only if you don't befriend Undyne.
I personally think that the Mettaton ending is the worst. Everyone else is dead and the people that lived have to be MTT's servants. And if they don't like him, they die. Doesn't help that he's also my least favorite character ;-;
I love it though because you actually can bring her friends back. It's like the game is constantly telling you to do the pacifist run even after you've finished the game! :D
Yeah. On my first play through, I didn't even know you could spare anybody, so I did a neutral genocide run, and boy am I regretting it :( Right now I'm working on my genocide run, and I've been having a bad time for, like, 2 months.
It was really hard for me to bring myself to do, but Undertale is my most favorite game ever, and I wanna play all the content that it has to offer. Plus, there are tutorials online and I know how to wipe my progress after I've done it, so there's that.
I feel kinda bad at papyrus. He's too innocent to know everything. His friends are all dead and he just assumed that they are on a vacation. I wish I could hug papyrus.
Or maybe... he could be lying to himself. He's always shouting and quickly saying things like "I CAN DO THIS! I AM CAPABLE OF BEING THE BEST!" and to me, it gives off a panicked emotion. People say that if you say positive things about yourself over and over again, you'll start to believe it. Maybe that's what Papyrus is doing. Maybe he's unhappy of not being able to fix anything.
i'm a year late but yeah, i'm pretty sure papyrus praises himself so that one day, maybe he'll believe it himself. so he''s probably lying to himself to keep himself positive
Yeah, and judging from his expressions, I think he's at least starting to realize what happened. His expression when he mentioned he couldn't keep *everyone's* hopes up, he can't be unfamiliar with the concept of death. Plus, how he checks that Sans is gone before dropping a lot of that cheer.
I don't like how everyone's laughing at Mettaton's ending, when he rules over the underground. To me it's as dark as most of the others. Mettaton was appointed as the leader of a land in despair. They lost Asgore, and Undyne : it's no wonder everyone's feeling wounded and has lost hope down there. Mettaton knows that. He wants the underground to be happy and lively, yet he knows he doesn't want to start a war on humanity. He knows he doesn't have what it takes to do this. And he's all alone : he has no-one to help him. So he does the only thing he is able to : he entertains the underground. He continues his show, spread it everywhere, covers the world in never-ending glamor. He knows he can't solve the troubles of the underworld, so he bets on the slight hope that he might be able to entertain them... so they forget. He says it. He quotes all the troubles they have (education problems, economic collapse, dreariness...?). And "who needs the sunlight when you got the spotlight"... is to me one of the deepest sentences of the various endings.
***** Yeah, what about it ? It sounds like they are "forced to disappear", but honestly, I don't really believe that. Now that's only my personnal opinion. But Mettaton would need the help of an entire group - somewhat similar to the royal guard - to make people who don't like him quiet. However, what kind of group would he have ? I don't think the royal guards would accept killing monsters just because the new king says so. Sans and Papyrus would probably not either. And the underground is not that vast : if it was truly mettaton doing that, it'd become known of everyone. I think that those who don't like Mettaton's show disappear because they choose so. Now, I know, said like that, it sounds stupid. But in what I said, I pointed out how the only thing mettaton can actually do is hiude the underground's despair behind a fake curtain of glitz and glamor. Those who don't like the show, however, see behind that curtain. They see that they ARE condamned to be trapped down here feorever. They see that even their new king cannot do anything about it. They understand that he's just trying to keep them distracted until they die. Knowing that, I don't know about you, but if I were them, I'd probably commit suicide. Having to chose between death, or despair and pain followed by death ? It's quickly decided... Eh, it remains a personal opinion. But I like it. I think people are a little to quick when judging that if monsters disappears, it's because mettaton kills them.
It's certainly still dark, either way. It's especially sad, the line about "I can't find her anywhere. And trust me, *I've looked.* " It sets off some pretty awful alarm bells.
Oh Papyrus...Undyne's never going to answer her phone again. :( This ending is really sad, I've never seen that face on him...poor Papyrus is so naive, it hurts my soul to see him sad like that. Aw, Mettaton...his face when he couldn't find Alphys. :( He really is a good guy. I actually wonder...if his ending is probably a little optimistic...after all, it doesn't seem like the Underground is in despair? It sounds like he's keeping their spirits up at least. (And then Papyrus pops in and says monsters that don't like Mettaton disappear. 0_0) Oh no Undyne..."Revenge won't bring anyone back" "I couldn't protect her." Seriously, that's actually really sad.
+Aphot Nuit I didn't get that impression. I just figured she locked herself in with her amalgamates and anime and refuses to communicate with anyone ever again out of fear.
Pyritie She would eventually have to leave because food and stuff, but in the short timespan between the Mettaton fight and the ending, this is entirely plausible.
Pyritie I remember her saying in the pacifist run, "I didn't think I would leave the lab. It's good you got here when you did, because I thought I would do something...... cowardly."
5:52 "Maybe she's not feeling well... Or maybe... She's not feeling anything at all?" That's messed up. SInce you didn't kill the others, he either knows and is guilt tripping you, or doesn't know, or he was just interrupted by papyrus.
Xelios the Determined Jolteon (TheDimLamp) if you killed papyrus, he's going to assume correctly that you killed toriel. if paps is alive, he's just wondering
I feel like he was interrupted by Papyrus, he probably also didn’t say it on purpose as he doesn’t want papyrus to know about the murdery human he considered a friend same way he didn’t want toriel to know about the child she cared about
Think that's true but don't quote me. also it's very possible that the dog is Toby. Toby Fox in dog form. There's a few secret things stating this fact... but some of them spoil the game big time. If you're a dirty "behind the player" person who watches the spoilers, just check the wiki.
When Sans' eyes go black... chills, every time. There's something astoundingly creepy about an otherwise good/happy/funny character going so... dark, like that.
"maybe she's not feeling well? or maybe she's not feeling anything at all...? you'd better watch yourself, kid, things are lookin real bad for you" Jesus, alot of these neutral endings are much worse and depressing than genocide.
+acetrainer95 and unlike the neutral endings, genocide effects all gameplay you do afterwards. Literally. Like if you try to get any of the good endings, they will turn bad at the end after the credits.
+Quote (Link Nintendo) E.g do pacifist after genocide and go home with Toriel, and you get a scene with Toriel banding you cake whilst you're in bed and then leaving, and then your face turning into Chara's one.
I'm seeing everyone saying that this video's missing the "Alphys Hates You" and "King Annoying Dog" endings, but am I the only one that remembered the "Dirty Hacker" ending?
Isaiah Awsome Dude That's actually the first one in the video. However, if you're talking about an aborted-in-Hotland Genocide, that's the "Alphys Hates You" ending.
+Krispy Bacon explain the endings are you refering what happens in the ending: "alphys hate you", "annoying dog king" and "dirty hacker" and how reach at those endings?
+YORCHspartan117 Okay, for the "Alphys Hates You" ending, do the Genocide run, but DON'T exhaust the random encounters before fighting Mettaton. In this one, Sans immediately hands the phone over to Alphys, who explains that while she hates you, you actually made her face her problems and become a better person, before saying she should have killed you. For the "King Annoying Dog" ending, kill ONLY Toriel, Papyrus, Undyne, and Mettaton, and NO ONE else. In this one, the Annoying Dog becomes king of the underground, and does nothing but sleep on the throne. This somehow bring the underground to a new age of prosperity. And for the "Dirty Hacker" ending, you have to hack the game to where you somehow meet none of the requirements for any of the three endings. Sans will say that this is an error message, and tells you to tell the developers to add a new ending, but also saying that you might just be a Dirty Hacker.
I had no idea some of these endings even existed. Toby and his team put so much detail into this game, it's incredible. Incredible and emotionally scarring.
0:43 "... that's a joke. this is what happens when people like me take it easy." That breaks my heart because he knows he fucked up and it's kind of his fault for not caring too much, and when he tries to laugh it off he can't bring himself to do it, even when he does that all the time (I suppose). I just find it sO SAD
+Nael i am sorry, that this doesn´t have to do very much with your comment, but, does anybody know what ending you get, if you spare all bosses, but kill one enemy? or if you spare all bosses, but kill more than 20 monsters? sorry, just curious.... and also, there is another ending missing: the one you get on a pacifist run, if you don´t befriend undyne.
+Mothimas well, most. You have to have a genocide run up to Hotlands and then kill Mettaton Neo with all your might without first clearing out Hotlands completely. Because he also remarks about how everything's much more empty now....'cause of all the people you killed. If you do kill off everything in Hotland and then kill Mettaton NEO with all your might, you'll end up having a bad time instead. But at least sans will still tell you to go to hell.
The endings where Papyrus is sad about his "missing" friend and the miserable conditions of the underground really get me. It just feels like the characters are genuine people who've been heavily affected by what the main character has done, and I applaud Toby for being to able to capture that type of sense in a game
“Really though.” “I realized I was...” “Not the greatest to her.” “So I went to apologize.” “And to ask her to help me rule.” “...” *”But I couldn’t find her”* “Trust me. I looked.”
Undyne and Sans are your biggest threats, both in the Genocide run and after a violent Neutral Run. Papyrus is a paragon. Mettaton is scarier after he becomes more humanoid. And Alphys needs help.
The Mettaton Ruler Ending is actually really horrifying if you think about it. As Sans had said, he's brainwashed everyone with his TV show. Mettaton also mentions problems happening in the Underground, but nobody minded because they were brainwashed. This means the Underground is slowly falling apart with nobody noticing it. Final verdict is: The Underground is fucked.
*music stops and sans closes his eyes* OOOOOOOOOOH BOY THIS ISN'T GOOD *sans does the creepy thing with the eyes* OH GOD I KNEW THIS WASN'T GOOD JESUS CHRIST.
+vcom741 Sure. I'd be like "I'm here to see my funny bone guy, I hope you allow a temporal visit". What's there to fear, you're gonna be older and many times stronger (against them). "You suplex 7 Undynes, just because you can!"
The Papyrus ending was the saddest. When he said that they "were on vacation" I felt a little bad for killing them, but what made me lose it crying was when he said it was hard here as well as him saying that Undyne is showing no traces of life which will one day end up with Papyrus thinking they're actually dead. Imagine how that must feel, having all of your friends dead with a hard life... STOP GIVING ME THE FEELS TOBY!!!
Papyrus is the most pure-hearted person in the whole game. Even if you slaughter him in the Genocide run, he still believes you can become a better person, and offers you redemption right up until the end. His character is so much better than it first appears, even more so than sans or the others.
He’s right about believing the player can be a better person most of the time. A lot of people have abandoned their genocide runs after fighting Papyrus
In the ending where only Papyrus survives... It's really heartbreaking when a character who's normally so upbeat and optimistic about everything be genuinely upset about something...
One thing I find interesting. Papyrus being dead or alive is the difference between Undyne being vehement about destroying humanity and Undyne being depressed and jaded. Does Papyrus make her hate humanity less?
I guess Papyrus sets a bar for her. If you kill Papyrus, Undyne has no reason to believe humans have any goodness in them and develops a deep hatred for humanity. If you spare Papyrus, Papyrus probably reasons with Undyne that humans aren't all bad. She takes his words to heart and only feels distrust and resentment for humans, but nothing really beyond that.
+daskrip Well if you kill a whole load of monsters, Undyne usurps Toriel and goes back to the original plan of collecting souls to cross the barrier even if Papy's alive. He even joins Sans and Toriel in the ruins. So it's possible to piss her off while not killing Papy.
I just did a neutral run today, guess what? I got a bad ending. I killed Toriel, all the Dogs in snowdin and a (probably) 10 monsters. That resulted in Undyne ruling the underground and planning to destroy humanity. I spared Papyrus though. So Papyrus's life doesn't really matter in Undyne behaviour.
6:35 "And it's all thanks to you! And the horrible things you did!" This is subtle, but it suggests that Undyne (unlike Sans) won't hide your sins from Papyrus.
The endings where you spare Papyrus are the saddest...... He's just so inoccent...... And when Sans was talking about Toriel not feeling anything, I was so shocked.
"And, and I miss Undyne too" "She never answers my phone calls.." "She must be having alot of fun on vacation" "I wish she'd just send me a postcard" *(Heart breaks into a million tiny peices)*
Some of these endings are pretty deep. The music cutting at each important part makes that feeling so much more intense too. Also, either Papyrus is slightly dull, or he's just too pure hearted for the world.
Huh. Strange. I had gotten the first ending...but at the very end, Sans said something about how that at least it's less crowded thanks to the all the people I've killed. And then he goes something like, "..Just kidding. Go to hell." What triggered that ending?
+Amber J. Gardner Did you actively seek enemies or only kill those that showed up as you played regularly? No Mercy run while sparing Toriel could've done it
I think this video is missing at least "Alphys as queen" ending. Which is what happens if you kill everyone(and all random encounters) up to Mettatton Neo and then don't hit him with full power. I wonder if there are more variants if you do friendships and then kill random encounter enemies or such ._. Like if you friendship Undyne and then kill metattton or don't kill mettatton but kill random encounter monster
+ShadowoftheMask Oh yeah you are completely right. The ending ends with her wishing she kills you. I have it saved somewhere and i'll upload it separately
+Tuxwizzle There's another one where you befriend undyne, kill some monsters and metatron, where she will cut ties with you through the phone and Alphys is implied to have committed suicide
+ShadowoftheMask There's also an ending where you kill all the main characters (Toriel, Papyrus, Undyne, Mettaton) but not the more minor enemies, in which a small dog becomes ruler. There's also an ending that is very close to genocide where Sans tells you to go to hell.
MrTherandomguy42 I'm not sure. According to the neutral endings page on the Undertale wiki, it makes it look like you kill everything except maybe spare a frog or something.
In regards to the Toriel/Papyrus/Undine ending, I believe there's a slight variation if you've befriended Undine (as opposed to 'only' sparing her). Something about how she's feels betrayed that you convinced her to be friends when she should have killed you... and then murdered someone immediately afterwards. It's more or less the same, but still.
+Omegaboy345 - Minecraft and More! That's because he's a little fourth-wall breaking, manipulative, betraying LITTLE SHIT. Yeah it's because his plans for (SPOILER STUFF)
Sans: So I've been knocking on the ruins door, but the woman isn't there.. Maybe she isn't feeling well.. *or maybe she doesn't feel anything at all...* You better watch yourself kid.. Things are lookin' real bad for you...
Out of all the neutral endings, the one where Papyrus becomes king hurts the most, second only to the one where Mettaton becomes the ruler of the underground along with Papyrus. He just reminds me so much of my little brother, whose personality is almost identical to Papyrus, loud voice all the time and everything. It really hurts to see his sad expression, as well as the confused and pained expression he shows when Undyne doesn't answer his phone calls anymore. Thanks for the video, but the feels hit hard on this one.
I don't know how that could potentially happen in that scenario, but I would like to see an ending with Napstablook becoming the leader and giving a phone call.
@@alexsieh3089 no, woshua would make sure all of the underground is clean, and have some monsters to clean the underground *for* him also, mad dummy as the ruler, now that would be fukin sick!! loll
I swear some of the neutral endings can be more emotionally jarring than a genocide run. Hearing Papyrus talk about the people you killed or hearing what happened to Undyne.... it's just a roller coaster.
God, some of these variants are so creepy, like for example Sans saying you better watch out after he said Toriel wasn't answering him. Also, I thought you could kill Sans as well? What if you kill him during the neutral run, who will make those phone calls then? Or is it impossible to kill Sans while doing a neutral run? Sorry, I don't know too much about the game, I didn't play it yet.
You can't kill Sans on a neutral route, that can only be done on a genocide route - and since you kill everyone in that route, there's no message whatsoever.
It's probably because the only people that he truly cared about in his life is Toriel and Papyrus. He doesn't talk much to other monsters, he just knows that they're there. But he still knows that you have sinned, and therefore he's leaving a message to call out your crimes.
if you killed undyne or mettaton or muffet it's actually quite fair... They had the intention to kill you, so if you didn't manage to pass without killing them it's reasonable imo. Killing papyrus and toriel is different, cus you wont even die in their fights. They always spare you when you are going to die. If you killed them you definitely deserved to get the blank eye look from sans.
The ending where you only killed the boss monsters creeps me out. Specifically when Sans said "see ya". He said it with his eye-less expression. He only uses that expression when he's warning/threatening you. It's like he's saying he WILL see you later, and you're gonna have a bad time.
After watching this video my heart quit it's job. Guess it couldn't deal with the feels. So, uh, yeah. I'm having to hire a new heart. While I'm dead. Not easy, I'll tell you that.
Sans punches you by letting you know just how much of a bad time you're likely to have. Papyrus punches you without even knowing it because he's just that innocent and unassuming. But yes I like everyone assumes King Papyrus is a joke ending and then suddenly 'I MISS UNDYNE. I WISH SHE WOULD WRITE. I HOPE SHE COMES BACK SOON' and you know and sans knows exactly what you did. Which is why sans put Papyrus on the phone in the first place. Oh yeah, you missed the alternate near-genocide miss where you do hit Mettaton NEO with all your might, but neglected to clear out Hotland before you killed him. If that's the duplicate ending you're talking about, yeah, it's basically exactly the same as the 'everyone's dead' up to before the 'see ya' part, but sans is much less ambiguous about where you should go. Edit: Whoops, noticed you added the annoying dog ending in another video. Watch that for yourself, guys. But yes it's amazing how much variance the neutral endings have. It's almost like it's trying to encourage you to...play around with killing all the friends you've made just to see what changes. Sounds like something only someone with the power to SAVE would do.
Hmmm... Mettaton ruling the underground with unchecked power, took away and/or misused resources to benefit himself and his rule's security, put many honorific buildings of himself, people who oppose or don't straight up worship him just "Disappear". Mettaton started thhe equivalent of the Kim Dynasty of North Korea.
Older video had a duplicate ending in it. Revised and remastered for a better viewer experience. Also i definitely can be missing endings, if you found one that i haven't just post requirements and i'll check it out. ua-cam.com/video/ptg2TO_fn3Q/v-deo.html - The two endings i kept getting comments about missing. There shouldn't be anymore missing from this list.
+Tuxwizzle I have to give you some serious credit man, I was hoping somebody would do all of the neutral endings for Undertale. I really appreciate the work you've done here, it must have taken a long time. Thank you though! I bet you can beat Asgore with your eyes closed by now.
+Tuxwizzle I got a neutral ending where I killed every enemy that I encountered without going out of my way to find them. One of the more memorable lines from the phone call was Sans hoping that "I had a good experience. That's a joke. I don't really hope that. Go to hell." Hope that's helpful input!
Somehow, I find these even more sad than the genocide ending... In these, there's just a sense of hopelessness, like nothing will ever go well again. It's like the game is saying "Ya dun goofed, you murdered an innocent person." It's sorta like a extended game over screen, in the way that there isn't really any credits, and you just sorta get dumped back into the title screen...
Since there are 4 bosses in the game that can optionally be spared (Toriel, Papyrus, Undyne, and Mettaton), I'd say that there are 16 combinations, not counting the ones where you go out with Undyne and Alphys (although I only see 10 of these combinations here in this video). Speaking of, what happens when you managed to date Undyne, but later kill Mettaton or any of the normal monsters within Hotland? What happens when you managed to date Alphys (which would probably only happen if you dated with Undyne), but don't visit the secret lab? What happens if you visited the secret lab, but kill any of the abominations within?
+ShadowWolfTJC Mettaton doesn't affect many endings. Alphys date and not going to truelab is shown in the video. Amalgamations (Abominations) Cannot be killed in the true lab.
it's pretty much the same ending as 15:35, but with a few minor dialogue differences. I think it's also kind of implied that she gets slightly more depressed.
+ShadowWolfTJC There aren't 16 combinations. You see, 16 would include results like Papyrus + Undyne and Undyne + Papyrus as if they were two different options. Correct me if I'm wrong.
shotgun6X You are. Here are all 16 possible combinations that I mentioned before: Dead, Dead, Dead, Dead Dead, Dead, Dead, Alive Dead, Dead, Alive, Dead Dead, Dead, Alive, Alive Dead, Alive, Dead, Dead Dead, Alive, Dead, Alive Dead, Alive, Alive, Dead Dead, Alive, Alive, Alive Alive, Dead, Dead, Dead Alive, Dead, Dead, Alive Alive, Dead, Alive, Dead Alive, Dead, Alive, Alive Alive, Alive, Dead, Dead Alive, Alive, Dead, Alive Alive, Alive, Alive, Dead Alive, Alive, Alive, Alive Again, this is not counting whether or not certain characters were befriended in a date afterward.
There are more state conditions than just sparing their lives. If you spared Undyne but didn't date her, the ending is similar to if you had killed Mettaton, where she still has to live on the couch at Papyrus's place. She'll just be less depressed. So maybe you might also get different endings depending on whether or not you dated Papyrus. Or maybe if you didn't give Alphys the letter, it could change it slightly as well. So factoring in whether or not you dated Papyrus, Undyne, and gave the letter to Alphys, there could potentially be more than a hundred endings from all the combinations. It wouldn't be a straight multiplication, because some of those events depend on one another. EDIT: Another state condition would be whether you killed all, none, or some of the normal monsters.
"Undyne's not doing very well." This ending probably hurt me the most. It was the one I got first time around. Got frustrated on Mettaton and gave in. It hurts all the more now knowing just how amazing Undyne is. She's a mentor, a friend, a dedicated partner, and a true hero. *And I ruined her life*
There's something super depressing about Sans saying "Never come back, you're not welcome here."
+Mike Baker I mean...you (meaning the character) killed his brother...I'd be pretty pissed too...Lol
+Demarcus Oglesby One would be lucky that he didnt murder you. Just...letting you go. count your blessing, and live in shame
+Mike Baker I guess his cold disgust is more hurtful than anger and bloodlust... emotionally. When you are safe and sound of course, or else being speared is a strong candidate in the hurting thing.
is this scary?
+da taco gurl um no one said it was scary, just sad
"or she isnt feeling anything?" that seriously scared me

"The Underground's problems are over, baby!"
Meanwhile, children are screaming. Everything is covered in glitter and fire. Nothing is okay.

+Gamzee Makara Dammit Gamzee XD
"AND, AND, I MISS UNDYNE, TOO. SHE NEVER ANSWERS MY PHONE CALLS... SHE MUST BE HAVING A LOT OF FUN ON VACATION. I JUST WISH SHE'D SEND A POST CARD" That brings tears to my eyes.
Youre acting like crying papyrus
Yeah
Toby fox is a pro at making people cry
Yep I think he’s just trying not to teach a child about death because he doesn’t know if they killed anybody or not, so he doesn’t really want to point out that she died and interprets it in a different way
It just gives me a skele-ton of chills down to the spine
*Reads comment.* Why does my heart hurt reimagining Papyrus say those words?
I like how the endings here slowly turn from "you fucked everything up big time and we don't want your ass back here again" to "We love you, we're doing fine, we need to meet again!"
One person can make all the difference, as one butterfly can make a town burn.
+Inaccurate Prophecy "I DIDN'T BURN DOWN THE SCHOOL! IT WAS THE BUTTERFLY!"
+Sapphire Shard Gotta lighten it up somehow, the neutral endings are potentailly more heart breaking depending on your actions
I thought it was like, "Even a flap of a butterfly's wings can cause a tornado"
+Pamela Rodriguez not good enough
Calling these endings "depressing" is an understatement
*hide the pain harold face*

that it, soul-crushingly, is.

Extremely depressing too
Well, not all of them.
@@curtisleblanc5897 well that was a bit of a rib tickler ay!

This ending I think hit me really hard. Was tough to watch really...goodness.
+SuperLlama42 Better than dead Papyrus.
To be honest, I find the Papyrus only ending the most depressing. He doesn't know the truth, and he has a sprite never seen anywhere else in the game. I guess Sans knows he couldn't take the truth.
Or maybe he knows deep down
@@zhengwenyu1587 this. It seems he knew very well what was going on, but was keeping up a cheery façade for sans.
Actually, in one of the rooms where you can see the CORE, he makes the face after he says you're getting close. This is only if you don't befriend Undyne.
I personally think that the Mettaton ending is the worst. Everyone else is dead and the people that lived have to be MTT's servants. And if they don't like him, they die. Doesn't help that he's also my least favorite character ;-;
I was okey with this ending until i watched the pacifist one...
Papyrus: "I don't know what you did but...can you bring back her friends?"
Yup, that officially killed me. And I didn't even do the killing.
I love it though because you actually can bring her friends back. It's like the game is constantly telling you to do the pacifist run even after you've finished the game! :D
Yeah. On my first play through, I didn't even know you could spare anybody, so I did a neutral genocide run, and boy am I regretting it :(
Right now I'm working on my genocide run, and I've been having a bad time for, like, 2 months.

I feel kinda bad at papyrus. He's too innocent to know everything. His friends are all dead and he just assumed that they are on a vacation. I wish I could hug papyrus.
+Kira Sensei Yea.... Its really sad XD
Or maybe... he could be lying to himself.
If I was there I would hug him as well and I would also be crying because that's just so sad

If they're good... we also give them puzzles!

Ten people should unlike this.
Also it’s implied that Alphys killed herself
Alphys in the neutral route, she's nowhere to be seen, in undertale Wiki, it says that Alphys just flees from her lab or commits suicide.
YES
He tried to be a good king-but he wasn't prepared, and he's loosing himself to grief.

Oh Papyrus...Undyne's never going to answer her phone again. :(
This ending is really sad, I've never seen that face on him...poor Papyrus is so naive, it hurts my soul to see him sad like that.
Oh no Undyne..."Revenge won't bring anyone back" "I couldn't protect her." Seriously, that's actually really sad.
+Sir Kel Not _directly_ you can't.
+Sir Kel It's heavily implied that some endings lead to her killing herself thanks to your actions.
+Aphot Nuit I didn't get that impression. I just figured she locked herself in with her amalgamates and anime and refuses to communicate with anyone ever again out of fear.
Pyritie
She would eventually have to leave because food and stuff, but in the short timespan between the Mettaton fight and the ending, this is entirely plausible.
Pyritie I remember her saying in the pacifist run, "I didn't think I would leave the lab. It's good you got here when you did, because I thought I would do something...... cowardly."
5:52
"Maybe she's not feeling well...
Or maybe...
She's not feeling anything at all?"
That's messed up.
Mara Dulog he is pretending to be wondering because he is happy that you didn't kill his brother
I feel like he was interrupted by Papyrus, he probably also didn’t say it on purpose as he doesn’t want papyrus to know about the murdery human he considered a friend same way he didn’t want toriel to know about the child she cared about
Hebele qwelexd I don’t think Sans is happy in like half of these that one included, even if Papyrus is alive he still lost a friend
Panda Bear he isn't happy, but he is happier than the timeline where you killed papyrus too, he still hates you of course
I believe if you kill all the bosses but none of the random encounters, you get an ending where 'a small white dog' takes control of the underground.
+ace5762 He is probably Nator.
Think that's true but don't quote me.
also it's very possible that the dog is Toby. Toby Fox in dog form.
There's a few secret things stating this fact... but some of them spoil the game big time. If you're a dirty "behind the player" person who watches the spoilers, just check the wiki.

"maybe she's not feeling well? or maybe she's not feeling anything at all...? you'd better watch yourself, kid, things are lookin real bad for you"
Jesus, alot of these neutral endings are much worse and depressing than genocide.
But genocide is a bit spookier, seeing that one of the dead human souls come back and scare the living _hell_ out of you.
+acetrainer95 and unlike the neutral endings, genocide effects all gameplay you do afterwards. Literally. Like if you try to get any of the good endings, they will turn bad at the end after the credits.
That scared the shit out of me when I first saw it

I'm seeing everyone saying that this video's missing the "Alphys Hates You" and "King Annoying Dog" endings, but am I the only one that remembered the "Dirty Hacker" ending?
Nope.
Isaiah Awsome Dude
That's actually the first one in the video. However, if you're talking about an aborted-in-Hotland Genocide, that's the "Alphys Hates You" ending.
+Krispy Bacon explain the endings are you refering
what happens in the ending: "alphys hate you", "annoying dog king" and "dirty hacker" and how reach at those endings?
+YORCHspartan117
Okay, for the "Alphys Hates You" ending, do the Genocide run, but DON'T exhaust the random encounters before fighting Mettaton.
Krispy Bacon

I had no idea some of these endings even existed. Toby and his team put so much detail into this game, it's incredible. Incredible and emotionally scarring.
0:43 "... that's a joke. this is what happens when people like me take it easy."
That breaks my heart because he knows he fucked up and it's kind of his fault for not caring too much, and when he tries to laugh it off he can't bring himself to do it, even when he does that all the time (I suppose). I just find it sO SAD
Never looked at it that way. Now that's sad...
+Nael Also, if you kill more than 20 monsters that aren't bosses in that ending, Sans says "go to hell" instead of "see ya".
Depressing, huh?
And that's when he realized, he f**ked up. XD Sorry, I had to, but that is rather depressing.

Strange, on my end Sans' "Black Eyes" line from the "Everyone is Dead" ending was "Go to hell"
+Poison Trail the Go to hell line is added if you killed off all the random encounters.
+Mothimas It's when you kill every encounter you meet but move quickly enough to not clear out the areas. Basically non-genocide no mercy run.
The endings where Papyrus is sad about his "missing" friend and the miserable conditions of the underground really get me. It just feels like the characters are genuine people who've been heavily affected by what the main character has done, and I applaud Toby for being to able to capture that type of sense in a game
Hey buddy, don't blame this on the character. Who's holding the controller here pal?
“Really though.”
“I realized I was...”
“Not the greatest to her.”
“So I went to apologize.”
“And to ask her to help me rule.”
“...”
*”But I couldn’t find her”*
“Trust me. I looked.”
Proves that Mettaton really did care about Alphys. He just didn't show it enough
Genocide: I WASN'T PREPARED TO FEEL LIKE A COMPLETE MONSTER
Neutral: I WASN'T PREPARED FOR NIGHTMARE FUEL
Pacifist: I WASN'T PREPARED FOR FEELS TRIP
Undyne and Sans are your biggest threats, both in the Genocide run and after a violent Neutral Run.
Papyrus is a paragon.
Mettaton is scarier after he becomes more humanoid.
And Alphys needs help.
Not in all your endings in one she is
Mettaton is trying to do the right things
Seeing papyrus sad makes me cry. What's wrong with me. Even the happiest can be the saddest.
Oh, and Papyrus then comes and mentions that anyone who doesn't like Mettaton's TV show disappear.
This means that anyone who opposes him end up dead.
+Captain Svetlana's Shadow Bonnie well, you see. He has... Done some stupid shit with frisk in pacifist route. He's... Scary
and don't forget Alphys' Suicide
good now replace underground with undertale and mettaton with the fandom then
But now it's fabulous darling.

6:48 OK, hands up those who would risk it.
Hey, we've escaped Undyne before. For Papyrus, we'll do it again.
+vcom741 Sure. I'd be like "I'm here to see my funny bone guy, I hope you allow a temporal visit". What's there to fear, you're gonna be older and many times stronger (against them).
"You suplex 7 Undynes, just because you can!"
HANDS UP AND DOWN I WOULD DO IT.
MAKE IT A SEQUEL.
I'd risk it for my Cinnamon Bun.
Risk it for the skeleton!!!

+TreepeltA113 HE'S TOO INNOCENT, HE CAN'T KNOW THE TRUTH, IT BREAK EVERYONE"S HEART.
Not really, she wanted to kill humanity and I didn't kill papyrus
I just did a neutral run today, guess what? I got a bad ending. I killed Toriel, all the Dogs in snowdin and a (probably) 10 monsters. That resulted in Undyne ruling the underground and planning to destroy humanity. I spared Papyrus though. So Papyrus's life doesn't really matter in Undyne behaviour.
+daskrip it was pretty much like the 5:07 ending

Some of these endings are pretty deep. The music cutting at each important part makes that feeling so much more intense too.
Also, either Papyrus is slightly dull, or he's just too pure hearted for the world.

+Matthew Bofenkamp For that ending: Let some monsters live but hit Mettaton NEO with full power right?
MrTherandomguy42 I'm not sure. According to the neutral endings page on the Undertale wiki, it makes it look like you kill everything except maybe spare a frog or something.
In regards to the Toriel/Papyrus/Undine ending, I believe there's a slight variation if you've befriended Undine (as opposed to 'only' sparing her). Something about how she's feels betrayed that you convinced her to be friends when she should have killed you... and then murdered someone immediately afterwards.
It's more or less the same, but still.

I swear some of the neutral endings can be more emotionally jarring than a genocide run. Hearing Papyrus talk about the people you killed or hearing what happened to Undyne.... it's just a roller coaster.
The one ending where everything seemed normal and Undyne was severely depressed was really saddening actually.
KupKakes ok
But what if you kill Sam's than attempt to spare all enemies after sans.?
+G3t 5hr3kt Wilson Sans is the last opponent in Genocide; there's no way to back out and go to Neutral when you're at him.
Luigiofthegods k
I like how Sans seems totally fine with you killing anyone that isn't Toriel or Papyrus.
When Papyrus is sad it just breaks my heart. "Undynes not feeling well. Please bring her friends back" WAHH Papyrus your breaking my heart!
The ending where you only killed the boss monsters creeps me out. Specifically when Sans said "see ya". He said it with his eye-less expression. He only uses that expression when he's warning/threatening you. It's like he's saying he WILL see you later, and you're gonna have a bad time.

I guess that implies I'm a heartless bastard
***** Badum tish.
+Oddggear As in I never had a heart to begin with, because I couldn't feel anything.
What Sans thinks of you for killing:
Spare Papyrus-“Hey bud, what you did was pretty rude, but we’re still buddies.”
Kill Papyrus-“Go to hell”
Makes sense.
Kill his brother and you die
That's kind of the point lol
Older video had a duplicate ending in it. Revised and remastered for a better viewer experience. Also i definitely can be missing endings, if you found one that i haven't just post requirements and i'll check it out.
ua-cam.com/video/ptg2TO_fn3Q/v-deo.html - The two endings i kept getting comments about missing. There shouldn't be anymore missing from this list.
+Tuxwizzle Thank you, dude! I've been looking for a video like this everywhere!
+Tuxwizzle I have to give you some serious credit man, I was hoping somebody would do all of the neutral endings for Undertale. I really appreciate the work you've done here, it must have taken a long time. Thank you though! I bet you can beat Asgore with your eyes closed by now.
+Genhris Hris Hah. Funny shit. I couldn't even get out of the ruins on my blind playthrough on stream today.
+Tuxwizzle
I got a neutral ending where I killed every enemy that I encountered without going out of my way to find them.
One of the more memorable lines from the phone call was Sans hoping that "I had a good experience. That's a joke. I don't really hope that. Go to hell."
Hope that's helpful input!
+Tuxwizzle 1 ending I noticed you missed.... Kill everyone, including papyrus. Basically, do Genocide without "But no one came".
Papyrus' sad face just broke my heart...
"Just, constantly. Think of me, posing beautifully." Mettaton cracks me up.
Papyrus Doesnt Seem Himself In These Endings
Yaaaaaa...
He seems like you would expect in these circumstances
Who needs sun when you have the spotlight?!?
God I love that quote
I also like the glitter
I feel so sad for Papyrus. He is too precious, he has no clue..
Man, most of these are so sad.
Whoa how many subs did you have when you commented this?
I started to feel a little bad for Papyrus at the end of his solo end :c
he's feeling pretty bonley.
feel less bad nou
no :c
the mettaton ruling thing cracked me up xD
but sad at the same time
OH YES.
+lila Senpai I would love to live under his fabulous laws
+Claire McDermott me too
+lila Senpai That's the ending I got. I felt bad for not sparing everybody from Mettaton's rule.
The papyrus one is so sad..
"Sans said they went on vacation" Omg, that would have made me feel bad.
"Please don't noogie the skeleton."
Well, that cheered me up for a few minutes of this sobfest 2015
Somehow, I find these even more sad than the genocide ending...
In these, there's just a sense of hopelessness, like nothing will ever go well again.
It's like the game is saying "Ya dun goofed, you murdered an innocent person."
It's sorta like a extended game over screen, in the way that there isn't really any credits, and you just sorta get dumped back into the title screen...
DID YOU KNOW I CAN BENCH PRESS 7 CHILDREN? Undyne calm down XD
Lauren Kahn
Pfft... Only 7?!? What a loser! Lol
Correct me if I'm wrong.
shotgun6X
You are. Here are all 16 possible combinations that I mentioned before:
Dead, Dead, Dead, Dead
Dead, Dead, Dead, Alive
Dead, Dead, Alive, Dead
Dead, Dead, Alive, Alive
Dead, Alive, Dead, Dead
Dead, Alive, Dead, Alive
Dead, Alive, Alive, Dead
Dead, Alive, Alive, Alive
Alive, Dead, Dead, Dead
Alive, Dead, Dead, Alive
Alive, Dead, Alive, Dead
Alive, Dead, Alive, Alive
Alive, Alive, Dead, Dead
Alive, Alive, Dead, Alive
Alive, Alive, Alive, Dead
Alive, Alive, Alive, Alive
Again, this is not counting whether or not certain characters were befriended in a date afterward.
"Undyne's not doing very well."
This ending probably hurt me the most. It was the one I got first time around. Got frustrated on Mettaton and gave in. It hurts all the more now knowing just how amazing Undyne is.
She's a mentor, a friend, a dedicated partner, and a true hero.
*And I ruined her life*
Thank you for saving hours if not days and weeks of my life replaying the game to get different endings!
I get enough chills to start the next ice age whenever I see Sans' eyes blacken and hear the music stop.
