Great video! One of the only ones I see in this actual finish. Hopefully they do an acoustic electric version of this finish sooner or later. Also another talking point, another celebrity that plays guild, mostly the D 55 is John Rzeznik of the Goo Goo Dolls. There are many videos of him playing that lives. Guild Mex and Craig guitar I’ve owned many! And they stand the test of time even in a live environment. Happy new year cheers!
I've had my D-140 with antique burst since Sept. 2023 and have never looked back. It's my absolute favorite guitar and inspires me to play every day.
They’re an amazing value! 🎸😎
Sounds really great!!! Happy 2025, my friend!🎸
I’m waiting for mine to get here on thursday…quite impatiently i might add🤣🤣
I agree, captivating from the first note. I know you told me about this one, but I wasn't expecting this sound! You mentioned it is imported? Do you know where it was built? This was a great review, Paul. Also, you're very kind to mention the channel, brother man 👍
Thank you, Brother man. This one’s a keeper! Great tone, great value! Made in China 🎸😎
I enjoyed your review. I've owned several USA Guilds, and now I have a 19 year-old Guild GAD-50 which was made in China. I believe it's the same factory which makes Farida guitars which are sold in the USA. It's a marvellous guitar, featuring a solid spruce top with bookmatched solid rosewood back and rims. The tone's rounded, mellow and powerful. These Chinese Guilds are excellent - well built, excellent intonation right up the fingerboard and a very comfortable neck. Fender owned Guild at one time, and the Chinese-built Guilds were introduced at that time (around 2005) as an affordable version of the USA-built guitars.
I also own a Guild mini-jumbo acoustic/electric bass, which delivers everything I could want. Highly recommended!
Excellent information! Yes, these affordable Asian Guilds are super impressive. When Fender owned Guild, the USA factory was located in my home state of Connecticut. My D55 was built there. Thanks for watching!
@@paulgeorgia8013 I've owned two D-40s, a D-25, a D-35. and D-50 but never a D-55. Maybe I need to do something about this.😊
Greetings from the UK, have a good Christmas and keep picking!
Wow, captivating from the first notes!
Thank you, my friend. This is a great deal! 🎸😎
Awesome playing and sound.
Which do you prefer between the Guild F-250e and D-140?
Have you tried the Yamaha LL16M guitar? Beautiful sounding guitar.
Thanks very much! I do prefer the f-250, but mainly because I love playing jumbos. I haven’t tried the Yamaha Ll16m. But Yamaha makes incredible guitars. I should try one again.
Hey man, where did you get this Guild? Looking for one that has a bell-like tone like yours, seems like there might be a slight tolerance between each guitar made, but yours sounds fantastic. Good demo and review!
@@SlypDisc Hey man, thanks a lot.
I got this brand new from a shop on Reverb. These days, it’s hard to find a place you can actually go and try them out, so it requires a little faith. But Guild has been pretty consistent in my experience.
Good luck, I hope you get a good one. Thanks for watching! 🙏🎸😎
Actually, if you're interested, I'd consider selling this one to you - only because I need to thin the herd to make way for something expensive i want. If interested, my email is PGeorgia421@GMail.com - it'll be an excellent price.
You said you will keep it! And now two weeks later you changed your mind already!? This breaks my heart for this beautiful guitar😅
@burt5070 well, I’ve changed my mind again
It’s staying 😆🎸😎. I’m prone to indecision
Nice sounding guitar 😮
Is it a thick poly finish? I am thinking about getting a d140, but I also love the Eastman stuff, they have a thinner poly finish on them.
I wish I had mentioned in the video
It’s a poly finish, but it’s very thin
@ thanks man. I think I’m gonna buy one.
@ you’ll be happy
I have to buy one...
I’ve got the Guild D-120ce, which is the all solid mahogany with a cutaway and built in Fishman pickup. Awesome guitar and value, just like the D-120. It retails for $800 and I got it for $600 new. It’s my go-to guitar. You can’t beat the quality for the price on the Guild 100 series guitars. All solid for $1K or less and they sound great! My friend bought the Guild D-140ce with the tobacco burst the same day and he loves it. I don't know why Guild doesn't get more buzz.
@@mjwaldrep thanks, and I agree. I’m doing my best to tell anyone who’ll listen that Guild is a great brand at any price level
Which Guild do you prefer between the F250e and the D-140?
Have you tried the Yamaha LL16M? Another on my wish list.
