    Hi Doug, Supreme Surface here. We appreciate you posting this video; hard water stains and mineral deposits are a very common and difficult issue for granite composite sinks. It seems some individuals are encountering some difficulty, and we would like to help!
    As shown, hard water stains and mineral deposits such as calcium and lime require a lot of elbow grease. This is because granite requires pH-neutral cleaners (non-acid, non-basic), but pH-neutral cleaners are not effective on hard water and mineral deposits. To combat this, we formulated a product kit that is specifically designed for removing hard water/mineral deposits from granite sinks. This product is called the "Supreme Surface Composite Granite Sink Care & Maintenance Kit."
    The kit is comprised of two products: the Scum & Mineral Deposit Remover, and the All-in-One Treatment (which is used in this video). The Scum & Mineral Deposit Remover uses a powerful time-release formula that breaks down mineral deposits over the span of a couple of minutes, and requires little to no elbow grease to remove. The All-in-One Treatment is then provided to form a protective layer and a streak-free finish. The All-in-One treatment uses a unique formula blend called "ioSeal," which bonds to your surface to reduce absorption. This protects your surface from stains such as the hard water spots and mineral deposits in this video, making them easier to tackle in the future. Coincidentally, this actually replaces the need for any oils or waxes such as PAM or mineral oil.
    If these two products do not work, the reasoning is typically due to "etching," which often manifests itself in a way similar to water stains. In this case, simply give us a call and we would love to help out! Happy cleaning, everyone!

      I just read this and bought your products. My sink is only a few days old and I honestly had no idea that water stains were a problem, especially with a darker sink. I’m hoping that starting off with your products will keep me happy with my sink! Thanks so much.

      You bet! You can also substitute a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser for the scour pad. I find that works even better :)

  • @doughofmann
    @doughofmann  4 роки тому +6

    *UPDATE* I’ve found since I made this video, I definitely recommend using a Mr. Clean 🧽 Magic Eraser to scrub initially instead of the microfiber towel or scour pad, before Step 2 adding the PAM. Also really rub the Pam in and saturate the sink with the oil. I find it really adds as a protective layer. Also, @Supreme Surface has a Daily Cleaner that you can use in place of the PAM.

      I have been using olive oil, but nice to know Pam is an option. I had bought a different brand of cleaner and it made the problem even worse. Will look into what you're using for cleaning. Thanks

    I simply use Barkeepers Friend soft cleaner. Rinse. Let dry. Then, put some Canola Oil on microfiber cloth and rub on. Walla! No more water stains and looks brand new! Just a suggestion.

    no need to use pam, you can use baby oil and give it a good wipe down. I bought the supreme products but it doesn't remove the white calcium/lime deposits from my black composite sink...it gave it a shine but doesn't remove the hard stuff...especially the ring around the little lip of transition to drain...my drains are all black too which looks better than silver by far. I wish someone would create a product that actually works and works well....we have used baking soda/vinegar, every product on the market you can buy that's advertised for this issue and none work well....manufacturer doesn't give any good advice either....ugh had our sinks 5 yrs now....as beautiful as they can look (i keep mine wiped, dried and oiled at all times) they are A LOT of work and a pain in the rear...

    • @kellysnider5138
      @kellysnider5138 4 роки тому +3

      Exactly. I will never buy another one. I thought it was our fault when it happened to our first one - was diligent on the 2nd one and the same thing happened. There's no way a family with kids can keep the sink dry at all times 24/7. It's a horrible product and should never be used in a home with people that actually live in them.

      Use Wynns Mag Wheel Cleaner to remove the water stains, when the sink is clean and dry rub any mineral oil into the surface to shine it up... it's that easy.

    All you have to do is cover completely with pure baking soda add vinegar to make a thick paste... let it set for 30 minutes...take a scrub sponge no scratch ...use circular motions for 5 minutes scrub with force, then let that paste remain on for 30 more minutes. Then scrub one more more time for 5 minutes... then rinse with warm water-pat dry with cotton towel. Finally, with cotton towel apply generously with pure mineral oil. Allow the thick mineral oil to remain on over night....next morning gently wipe in circulate motion allowing remaining oil to soak in. It will look new and will last for a very long time.

    • @misskj7773
      @misskj7773 2 роки тому +1

      @@alonhapayne122 It will usually last about 2 weeks, depending upon the level of hard minerals in your tap water and the depth of porosity in your specific composite sink. For mine, I try to do this sink treatment every 1 1/2 to 2 weeks. It makes my sink look new. Another tip, ALWAYS wipe the sink dry at the end of the day. I never allow water to set in the base of the sink. Composite sinks are aesthetically beautiful, but they are, in fact, extremely labor intensive…but I would not want any other type of sink.

      I bought one before doing thorough investigation and I’m trying to see if I should exchange it for a simpler one. Is the sink worth the extra care it needs?

    • @misskj7773
      @misskj7773 2 роки тому

      @@alonhapayne122 I guess it depends upon each person. I am willing to maintain its beauty with the necessary care and patience, because I love the aesthetics of the style and appearance of this type of sink. But, for many, this would be not be the right sink for them. For me, most homes have stainless and porcelain. Those are commonplace and are seen everywhere…I like a sink that is unique and not traditional nor ordinary. But, to each his own.

    A bowl was sitting in my sink for a while and when I moved it, it left a ring - (like a water stain, not a white ring) how do I get that out?? It's almost like the circle under the bowl discolored cause it wasn't getting air, if that makes sense. Ever happen to you?

    • @karyn116

      I would put white vinegar in the sink and let it sit over night. Or if it's super persistent, use baking soda and vinegar and scrub it with a toothbrush.

    • @SupremeSurface

      Hi Jill!
      The underlying ring could be caused by one of two things. In either case, we may need a little more information to get to the bottom of it. If you give us a call from the phone number on our website, we would love to walk you through it and help out.
      Happy Cleaning!

    But doesn't the Pam spray leave an oily substance to the next washing of say maybe a Rubbermaid bowl or plastic cups and does the Pam spray need to be reapplied after each use of washing or rinsing things out?

    • @doughofmann
      @doughofmann  5 років тому

      I find that the PAM after every cleaning helps to add a sealing layer that washes off rather quickley. But it does leave a nice shine and seal for a while after applied. I don't find that it contaminates any dishes.

      We use oil..it's like seasoning an iron skillet except you have to do it weekly with a black sink..lots of labor..you want to keep that protective coating there and NEVER leave anything in a black sink..nothing..ever.. you can't with black granite composite..:-)
