Very nice trailer. It’s nice that you’ve carved out some time for some R&R with your lovely wife.

It's a very nice camper. I showed my husband and said we need one like this. I'd like to suggest maybe doing a corner sink in the bathroom. I mean you don't want to brush your teeth in the main area?! Maybe a corner medicine cabinet also. I like to put on my makeup in the bathroom so I can wash my hands afterwards (if that's what your wife does). Maybe a shelf (or 2) above the toilet for toiletries. And I noticed where the burners are would be an issue. Seems like that'd be a prep area for food seeing how it's near the fridge. Maybe move the sink and burners over. I agree with the L-shape counter peninsula (or a flip up extended counter-top in case you need the open option when there's more people visiting). So many options.

In the bathroom, what about removing the vanity replacing it with a triangle shaped cabinet with a sink in the corner? Using minimal space. Just a thought.

I know that whatever you do, it will make your time in your camper more livable and the weekend escapes even more enjoyable. I think the thing I loved most in this video, was seeing your camper in a normal state. Dishes out, food being prepped, towels hanging, etc. Sometimes the video tours are so sterile, but seeing it lived in, gives a good idea of the comfort, storage needs, etc. Enjoy your time away from the builds

Sweet dogs! The Schnauzer is the perfect dog for you, smart, loyal, active, minimal shedding, loves the outdoors, calm temperament, and a man's dog. So well matched. Here are some thoughts on the remodel:
    1. Cut the bath cabinet in half. Get rid of the sink side. On the other half stuck to the corner, leave a bit of counter space for toiletries. Below it, is a large Trelino toilet on a slide out. It stays out for use except when showering. The slide out tray could have tiny legs for support. Since you cannot push it into the dinette slide out, this is the way.
Now the whole shower area is opened up. You can increase wall cabinets on both walls to compensate for toiletries.
    2. Yes, fridge is too small for those who like to cook. Very good idea to increase fridge and freezer size. I cook my own dogfood too, so I like huge fridges.
    3. Where you have a brown ottoman sitting currently, could be space for a Magic Chef 1.5 cu ft washer. This could slide in and out of the bathroom wall to occupy space in bathroom or pushed out during shower time. Very handy to have a washer in your camper. I've been looking at this mod myself. Laundry is the biggest hassle when on trips. Washers range from 0.9 - 2 cu ft in size to be practical. Avoid the dual chambered ones, as they are bogus. Magic Chef, Giantex, Costway, Black and Decker.
    4. I would not have two sinks. I'd have one large, deep, typical Humble Road sink where that tiny one is currently. Plastic sinks are an abomination. You can also have a fold down sink in your bathroom, if you like. Make one yourself with Corian.
    5. 4:20 - The space where the toaster oven currently sits, has a lot of unused headroom. I think personally, I would raise up that toaster oven and use the counter space for dish drying.
    6. I would put a large sink where the two burner stove sits, with dish drying rack to my right. Move burners way to left side near entrance. In between is your prep space as you move from fridge to sink to prep to cooktop in one flow. The current placement of items on the counter is not optimal and breaks the natural movement. It also chops up space too much. If you have empty holes in countertop, put wooden cutting board sections that lift out to a trash bin underneath or a blender on a lift or such. You can also put the toaster oven on a lift to go into cabinets when not in use. You could do that if you left it where it is right now.
    7. I would put the TV up on the ceiling with a swing down arm. Add wall cabinets where the TV is currently.
I'm indulging in my favorite pastime, dreaming up mods. Have fun, George! Everything is a work in progress, even life. Great to see you and your lovely wife, and your adorable dogs!

  • @Greybeardmedic

George, what if you were to remove the vanity CABINET, but keep the sink. Get a nicer sink, kind of like a pedestal sink set up in a residence, use chrome or brass drain to make the uglies look presentable, move the sink higher up against the wall, shorten the counter down to around 8 inches at the point where the toilet is. You gain some added foot room, and needed elbow room when sitting on the throne. If you could definitely make up for the loss of storage by putting some clever wall storage for rolls of TP and other knick knacks, but ultimately SAVE the function of the sink. June may like doing her hair and make up alone whilst you tinker away elsewhere.

Ditch the bathroom cabinet but refit a small wall mount toilet sink. You don’t want toilet soiled hands mixing it up in the kitchen. The plumbing is already there so best to utilise it

I'm planning to rebuild the kitchen cabinets in our Keystone Outback using what I've learned from your videos. All 8020 extrusions. I'm actually going with a Dometic CFX3 100 in a drawer to get more counter space.

You indicated that you intend to resell the trailer, so I would not remove the sink from the bathroom entirely, possibly a fold down sink over the toilet, or an adorable small corner sink. Actually... I would basically turn the vanity so that it is opposite the shower.... Sink and cabinet to the left of the existing toilet and mirror cabinet above that. (It would of course be a narrower cabinet) Short shelving (4 inches deep?) going up the wall above the toilet for vanity items and a towel rack on the wall where the existing sink is. I think that would really open up the space.
If you were keeping the trailer, since June has that awesome toiletry case that she likes, I would find a way to put it on a shelf and strap it in so she can access the contents without having to unpack it into the cabinet, since I also tend to just pull things out of my case as I need them and toss them back in. If she were to unpack that case, then you have to find a place to store the empty case.
Also, in that small space, kitchen counter real estate is precious. I would not have a bar sink and a kitchen sink, although the existing sink is far too small. I would add an outside quick connect for the propane so you can quickly hook up a nice size gas grill for cooking outside. It looks like you need to sort the heating out. Also, everything has a place and everything in it's place. Does everything have a place? Do you need to add more storage somehow? You want to remove the vanity, but you actually need more storage in there because the toiletry case is living in the shower. It is a nicely set up little trailer, though!

I would be uneasy with people doing bathroom sink stuff (esp tooth brushing) inches away from my stove and cooktops. Replace the bathroom vanity for sure, but maybe you could still mount one of those streamlined sinks (short depth, long width) directly to the wall. Most of the plumbing needed is already installed.

So, as a guy who 1st noticed the class B possibilities on YT. And, as a guy who further found his interest magnified & piqued by the magic of Humble Road. I must confess. These last two HR episodes have been, at the least, confusing, or at the most, downright disturbing. Mr. George, your consistent journey down the RV rabbit hole known as Class B George’s Wonderland, This sudden growing RV travel trailer discussion has left me feeing traitorous!!! You never know, something I do in this trailer may inspire you to do something in your class B van and vice versa, I am an equal opportunity creator!

If you add the return with the big sink in it & the dinette slide is in; would you be blocked from getting to the fridge when you stop for gas and want to pop in and make lunch or use the potty? If not then go for it!
I really like the curtain idea. That may be the only thing you need to do for the bathroom to become more functional. Then you could leave the bathroom sink and have 3 sinks!

You could turn the bathroom into a wet bath, put the storage on the wall. You could still have a sink maybe in the corner if you want. I think you might be sorry making the L in the kitchen for the bigger sink. It would really crowd the trailer. JMO.

Take out the toilet and get a Trelino. When you want a shower, put the toilet into the hallway. Maybe do the sink removal but have a flip up or pull out work space so that the looking good and getting ready hygiene tasks are done in the bathroom rather than taking up kitchen space.
