    The following paragraph is taken from the vender’s description for this welder, can anyone advise just how this upgrade process is carried out?
    “The RAZOR200ACDC is a Digital Controlled Square Wave AC/DC TIG inverter welder. Intelligent digital control of the main functions are realised by software providing ease of operation and high accuracy, software upgrade is possible by simple download function.”

    Thanks for this video.
    When you hold the torch button fo 5 seconds to switch to manual control by the torch wheel or the optional foot peddal, do you by-pass the all the automatic settings for initial amps, upslope, ect or do you just have control of the peak amps?
    Is it full manual, say with the foot peddal, or do the other featured still work?
    I have your viper 182 Mig machine and love it.
    I also have the Razzor 200 AC/DC but have not really "got into it", Not quite worked out the settings yet.
    I found this video very helpfull and will be onto the machine tomorrow to get it working for me.
    Thanks.

      Hi Charles. I bought this unit recently, and it seems that it does work as you presume and goes full manual in remote mode in regards to amperage. Gas settings remain as you set them. In 2T mode you can set max amps and still maintain current control up to that preset amperage. I haven't played much with 4T to know if it functions the same.

      @@Unslaven Work that remote control with a potentiometer in the pedal ? Because in all manuals, there is described this funcion but every distributor says to me, there is no such thing as pedal(remote) control for this unit. Also, I do not find any electric schematic for a DIY pedal connection. Maybe that wheel control on the torch is digital, not an analog potentiometer.

    • @Unslaven
      @Unslaven 4 роки тому +1

      @@banny123456 Hi Robiovic. I do believe there is a pedal for this unit. (unimig.com.au/product/tig-welding-foot-control/). I don't have the cash to splash on one right now though. If you do manage to reverse engineer a pedal i would be very happy to know what you came up with. I have no idea on the analogue/digital status of the controller, but there are enough connections on the plug for it to be analogue, otherwise it could just be a 3 pin, which would be much cheaper to produce.

    RE: 2T and 4T. Assume you have a torch with no trigger control and have a foot pedal plugged in. Does it matter what the 2T or 4T settings are? Is the foot pedal overriding those settings? Do you have to hold the foot pedal down for 5 seconds to engage the "remote" EVERY TIME you want to weld? That's what mine is doing.

    I have this machine and I can't seem to set the Base Amps in AC pulse mode, it's stuck on 5 and doesn't adjust. All other settings can be applied as per settings in the video above, but not base amps. Is there something I need to change?

      Actually answered my own question. For anyone else who finds the same issue, I followed the following steps:
      1. switch off welder,
      2. unplug footswitch
      3. turn on welder
      4. adjust settings
      5. turn off welder
      6. plug footswitch back in
      7. turn on welder, all issues resolved, and can now adjust settings with footswitch plugged in, unlike before.

    Hi Unimig - In DC Pulse I understand the Pulse Hertz range is 0.2 to 200 - This vid says 80 for that task but the manual says 2 for 2.0mm Stainless with 1.6mm Thoriated -That is a huge difference but still within the range - This vid shows 120 Peak and 70 Base and the manual shows 100 peak and 30 Base and suggests 20 to 30 percent of peak - Less difference for thicker material ? - I have use of a 180 Viper and 200 viper - Can you please explain both ? - Thanks Confused newbie Greg

    • @unimigsupport
      @unimigsupport  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Greg, we mentioned at the start of the video that this is a preference-based machine, the settings we used in this video are the settings our on-site welder uses on a day to day basis, however, this does not mean they are 100% perfect for you. We would use these as a starting guide and tweak them for your preference. In regards to the 180 and 200 AC/DC, they are exactly the same machine with the 200 having a better duty cycle, the settings should remain the same on both.

    I've worked with this specific machine, quite powerful and quality one, but there is a huge drawback, which is the torch configuration. I seriously don't know why they didnt follow the WP torch series, since this torch nozzle and Colette is quite peculiar in shape and you cant feed the wp series gas lenses and cups to it which makes the entirety of the machine useless. However i saw these machines with other torch series in TAFE but it just makes you to spend another 200-300 buck on a torch to fit it with "common" parts. so lets say 1800 for a full accessory machine + 300 for another torch. I'd say: thanks, but no thanks!

    • @unimigsupport
      @unimigsupport  3 роки тому +9

      Hey mate, We designed our own torch for one main reason, as we saw the life span of "'common'' consumables to be way too short, as well as some consumables being able to be combined to save you costs (Collet & Collet Body). These have been tested and have been proven to last up to 20x longer for some consumables, with most lasting over 10x longer. They are made out of higher grade materials thus lasting a lot longer. Sorry for your concern.
