Once every few years THIS happens...

Something happened that very rarely does... our home kite spot froze over. What does that mean? We scored an awesome day of snowkiting in the city of Toronto with friends!

Many thanks for your videos, really inspiring. Just wondering why snow kite only on frozen water. Dont you have any snowy landscape to ride?
BTW, your place is on my living place list. Will only need long adaptation after kiting for 3Y in Dubai 😂

Thanks! We kite on frozen lakes here because there aren’t many landscapes that are both publicly accessible AND suitable for kiting. Yuri used to ask farmers to kite on their fields back in university but here in the city there’s not much farm land. Hopefully someday we can try snowkiting in western Canada (BC, Alberta) - there are way more options there!
Toronto is a nice place to live for kiting but yeah - it will be just a *little* chilly after 3 years in Dubai! 😄

I am still waiting the snow in the French Caribbean’s this winter, but spring is coming too fast this year! 😜
Kiting daily on the water starts to be just boring especially when wind is always between 16 and 25kts! 😇

Sounds like you’re in true kite paradise!! We had a very nice spring session this morning, was 20*C and around 15-20 knots... until the thunderstorm rolled in with 50 knots gusts!

Hi. Thanks for your videos...very informative... as a beginner what type of bar do you recommend?

Thanks! We use the Flysurfer Force bar - it’s great. Of course pretty much any new bar on the market these days will be fine. For beginners the biggest thing is safety - so we recommend to avoid using an old bar as there’s a higher chance of worn lines breaking or safety mechanisms failing. So really, we’d recommend buying a brand new bar if you can :) hope that helps!
