- High Heat, Mid Noon, High Sun, Mid Summer, Summer Bassing - Whew. Have to do this at least once a year. High heat, high noon, mid summer bass fishing. Just keep the expectations low and the AC on high and you'll be alright and tight. I almost forgot! I brought a flask of water took a swallow and closed it up. I did not realize I didn't put the cap back on tight and soon saw a puddle at my feet. We made it but my throat was dry most the day in the high summer heat. Played a bit with the short fat worm. They are pretty cool. Saw what it do and look forward to doing some more with it. I expected a few shots which I got. One nice missed strike and a crash that never produced. That's how mid noon high sun summer bassing goes often. I do at least one trip as such a year for many reasons but next time all gonna be about worms and deep water for sure.
Tough time of day.........very nice for relaxation but you know sunrise and sunset...Fish Your Way
Oh hell yea love the diabolic relaxing yet tough conundrum, I expect a few good shots which I had. Have to do at least once a summer when its 99 out but next time with my more formal approach for sure electronics and all
Hi Jerry, Sometimes I cut about an inch or so off the Senko. The smaller fish can get to the hook on a smaller bait. Have fun in the boat, Mickey
Wonderful idea
Plastic worms like the senko, texas rigged are my confidence bait for sure. Hope you start to love them too!
I did like the action highly, I generally been fishing with the ribbon style tailed worms, I like how the drop, little flutters and darts caught my eye as some days the fish key in to this action over a more rhythmic forward motion. Will enjoy using em again for some big bass!
The summer doldrums of August make catching fish more challenging. Things will be changing, soon enough.
One of the joys of fishing!
