This kit includes a gorgeous ultra-thin, full-color liquid crystal display offering five levels of electric pedal assist, battery gauge, odometer, speedometer, USB charging port and backlighting for better visibility and night rides.
Plus a 20 amp (for 36V battery) or 25 amp (for 48V battery) controller for increased torque, improved hill-climbing power, and greater towing capacity.
as far as i know, your the only one who has reviewed this product... Keep up the great videos!
Jack Herron thank you Jack
Thank you for sharing that info on the Display controller. It is nice to have a heads up on the gear I am getting. Awesome video.
Ronnie glad you like this video. This is a great display. I am impressed and am looking forward to playing with this display when the XS bikes arrive.
Hello dear! I have 3 questions:
1) What is the difference between 48-1 and 48-2 in the voltage setting?
The five point are for the accuracy of the battery percentage?
2) ”speed sensor” what does it mean?
is the location of the sensor?
3) What “slow start” means?
Thank You so much
1- not sure about about 48-1 and 48-2.
2- speed sensor is inside the motor and the number correlates to the number of magnets. This number and the wheel size calculate the speed.
3- slow start setting reduces the initial torque when PAS1 kicks in.
Thanks for sharing the details!
Bolton Ebikes Kyle, glad you like it. One of these days i may do a side by side comparison against your new color display.
Good advice found here. TY.
Can you take the speed limit off of 20 mph from the x-fold with this lcd and controller? I want to go a bit faster. How much is it also? Thanks
I have the xs and in advanced setting you can increase it to 25mph. It should be the same for x
@@mtownz6215 will it go 25mph on throttle only???
@@NoName-iz6bs my xs does
What does rhe slow start option do in advanced settings? My display only lets me get to 25 mph. Is there something im not doing?
Some of the displays (Fold XS and Fat XS) are limited to 25 mph while MXS can reach to 28 mph. The slow start setting reduces the initial torque for as smoother start when PAS 1 kicks in.
I am more of a Eboard enthusiast and I bought a Sondors Fold XS For my pops. None the less the good range, I want the bike faster when I’m riding it and possibly more torque, Can the Fold XS go faster. I used the code to unlock the speed to 25mph and the bike has hit 26mph but I’ve keeled the Amps to 20 due to the controller having the limit of 20, If I get this upgrade kit how will it change the performence of the bike ? And what do you think I should do ? Thank you in advance ! This video has been great ! I believe there is potential for the 48v battery and the 750 w motor it also comes with the newest Sondors LCD screen.
Hi Alvin, thanks for watching the video and the comment. For higher speed, you need higher voltage. Since you already have the Fold XS, essentially you have the highest level of controller and battery that’s available at this time. Your Fold XS comes with this display and controller as standard components. You wont gain anything by ordering this upgrade kit. This package is a good option for someone with an older Fold bike. Your only option is to get an aftermarket 52V or 60V battery, install it on a rear rack, upgrade your display and controller with compatible aftermarket parts. I don’t recommend it, with Fold’s smaller wheels and tires, higher speeds cause instability. Consider ordering a Fat XS or the upcoming MXS 27.5 bike (video will be up very soon).
@@eBikesUSA I have a fold XS and can feel it hit a limiter at 25mph (it want to keep going!) is there anyway to remove the limiter? Is it just a mechanical magnet or something? I just want another 5-6 mph
What does "Slow Start" mean or do?
You can adjust the power level when you start pedaling. This will lower or increase the torque level when motor kicks in. Some people prefer a smoother start.
I am very interested in a kit my bike is an ORIGINAL SONDORS of APRIL 2019
Can the speed limit be modified, and will it have more torque?
my battery is 36v 14Ah
thanks from MB florida 33141
This kit came with a 20a or 25a controller (depending which model you get) which will improve bike’s torque vs the the original 15a controller. The speed can be modded to 25 mph. I suggest joining the SONDORS Storm Owners group and SONDORS Swap and Sale group in case the company doesn’t have these kits in stock. Sometimes the owners are selling these kits. The
Price is now $250 for this display/controller combo. Would you consider this combo worth double the price compared to an aftermarket 25a controller and a LCD3 or even LCD8H display?
This is a great display with solid features, you can even set it up as 3, 5, 7 or 9 PAS levels. Something the other displays cant do. The controller that comes with this stops at 25mph. The aftermarket displays and controllers exceed that speed, something to consider. Also if you have a 7 speed SONDORS, you would need to change the throttle if you go with an aftermarket package. I am familiar with the LCD3 and LCD8H, they are great displays and value. If logo doesn’t mater, go with the aftermarket.
Damn, I wish I could crank mine up to 40??? How do you do that?

@@AwesomeAlexAdam ? how do i do this?

does anyone know what slow start means as well as speed sensor & assistant num?
How can I get the pass code to enter the extra settings?
If you color display came with your XS or MXS bike, it’s 1515.
Can you update the videos? It is 2020.
In this video, the speed was changed to 40 mph. On mine, it will only go up to 28 mph
40kph = 25mph
How much will this set you back?
Erica Guidino this combo set is $199 but also comes standard on the new XS bikes.
While you can use a GPS app on your phone, this is designed to manage the bike’s power delivery system and PAS levels. It’s more than a speed display,.
I just installed the new controller and lcd screen.
In order to access the admin to set up the PAS level, it asks for a 4 digit password to change advanced settings. Is there a factory default? Its not in the manual that I saw.
Michael Wood hi Michael the clues to the 4 digit passcode is embedded in the video. Also, have you joined the Facebook’s SONDORS Storm Owners Group? Please post your pictures of your bike and what the installation was like. I bet you and the other owners can figure it out. I want to wait a few days to give the owners a chance to crack the code.
Michael, try 1665:)
Thanks.
played around with some of the settings and now my throttle and psa wont work, how do i reset back to factory settings. Thanks
Simon Ho Simon, please join the SONDORS Storm Owners Facebook group and we can help you reset the display.
😂 40 mph. A 750w motor can only go around 28mph. The display is probably set up in that 40 mph for a 72 volt system and that's why it's in there
Your telling me you can adjust the settings and the miles per hour on a sondor xms? No way
If you are being sarcastic, that’s a good one. If you are serious, yes way:)
EBikes USA lmao no im beong serious cause im tryna learn about ebikes and all💀
EBikes USA and also can you put an extra battery and have it connected as well so it can be doubled range and or speed?
EBikes USA if i were to change it to 35mph or 40mph what settings are apporpriate to change
Thomas Lukosevicius Hi Thomas, yes, there are lot’s of adjustments and upgrades you can make to these bikes. I suggest joining the SONDORS Storm Owners Group on facebook. There are many of us that would be glad to answer your questions and help with the upgrades. Welcome to the SONDORS community.
how do I find the pass code for msx?
Try 1515
what is the admin password for the controller
If you have a color display that came with your bike, 1515. If you have the upgrade kit from Nov 2018, 1665
@@eBikesUSA can i really change the speed a little bit??
Opanga Cliner yes, you can.
Where do you get the password for the controller ?
Hi Michael, which display do you have? If yours came wit the XS bike, it’s 1515. If you purchased the display controller bundle, it’s 1665. Hope this helps.
