Hey, just stumbled upon this video and I just wanted to drop some additional tips: Blockbench skin mode comes with a lot of useful tools built-in so you don't need to convert it into another format. If you use the buttons above the outliner, you can hide the second layer and space out the parts so that you can paint on the inside.
Great tip Jannis! Ill make sure people get to see this 😊
Sometimes when i paint i cant paint
@@ArtsByKevhow do u import the skin into mincraft

MumboJumbo, Technoblade, Grian every minecraft youtuber has it's speciality
and Kev has it too
These words hit the feeels ❤
RIP Technoblade.
This is really great if you use 32x32 texture packs. You fit in more with the world/environment. Thanks for the info, I didn’t know Minecraft even allowed custom 32x32 skins. You just don’t see them very often. I wonder why if it can be done.
It's currently limited to Bedrock edition, but java has mods and other workarounds 🤗
@@ArtsByKev do you think it will be possible in vanilla java in the future?
I sure hope so :)
How do you download it to Nintendo switch
how do u get another 3d layer like for the mustache?
How to add cape in skin pack for minecraft pocket edition 1.21.2?
how about for java skins?
Frankly java is limited, but you can cheat with one layer characters in resource packs.
Doh BUMMER. That's why I clicked! Lol, at least I saw this before I started. Soooo,... we get "easy" (cough) redstone, & mods but not as beautiful of skins. C'est tragique! 😉
@@ArtsByKev what resource pack
yeah but how do use the skin in game'
In bedrock edition, which currently is the Minecraft version to support higher than 16x16 skins, you basically upload it via the profile page ^^
@@ArtsByKev thank you, the problem is, is that i play on java
@@ArtsByKev i looked it up and theonly results say that you have to use mods
Yeah, that's unfortunate (I also would've loved higher res skins in java).
If you play single player and/or record on e.g. a server without other people - then you can set your skin to default on your MC account and add the higher res skin to a resourcepack replacing "steve" or "alex" and it'd be wearable that way (but only seen your end)
Is there a tutorial for making hats?
I'm making one, to drop on the more channel :)
@@ArtsByKev Awesome! Looking forward to it! Thanks!
I find it weird how such talented people like you don't get recognized by more people. Even tho i myself don't really use blockbench very often, your desire to educate and entertain people is what keeps me watching. Keep up the good work ! //Fellow Swede

How make brush paint glasy i mean how set transperency on skin?
There's an opacity setting for the brush; paintbucket, gradient and shape tools respectively at the top bar when you pick a tool
How do you load the skin into the game? For me the game just tells me its too big while it's still 64x64
Dude, u can make a tutorial about making the shading, its stayed really good!
Oh no..... my skin is too large at 512x512 at 64px, how to make tiny that not affect to him.... 😢😢😢😢😢
I have a 1 week project so i dont wanna effort of this project is in vain
How do you move around in the project to see the model better like go up and down in view?
right click and drag
Hi can you make a video with how to make a 3d armor??
For what version of Minecraft? Java has limitations that doesn't allow it unless you'd be modding the game 😊
On bedrock
Sure can! It is a bit of setup, but can definitely be fun to explore.
Yeeey
HOW DO I PUT IT INTO MINECRAFT THOUGH?????
Exclusive for Bedrock/Pocket/Console edition atm 🤷
does it only work on bedrock or does it also work on java edition? i made my skin and tried to upload it on the minecraft launcher but it said it only allowed 64x64 or 64x32 skins, and i dont understand how you uploaded it
Bedrock :)
@@ArtsByKev aw
Do you have a video on how to get it into minecraft?
If you use Bedrock (only viable opt atm) via character customization, select skin from local file
@@ArtsByKev no way for Java yet?
Frankly
why is this 2d when i make a skin is only 1d
1D = Not visible to our eye
2D = Image
3D = Model/Sculpture
4D = Mathematical cross dimensional abstract
Are you referring to only drawing in an image editor?
you can't use these though because the game only let's you use 64x64 files for skins
They're exclusive to Bedrock/Pocket edition still sadly :/
@@ArtsByKev cringe
Yep, pretty much so
it wont let me import it into minecraft
Java edition? Yes, this is exclusively limited to bedrock atm.
@@ArtsByKev oh *sadge*
i can't use mine ingame?
32x32 res and higher is currently for Bedrock edition, only 😔
But you can overwrite steve and alex skins with rp's.
@@ArtsByKev damn, aight thx tho
Do they actually work when uploading to mc
You should do a 138x128 video explaining how detailed you can make a skin.
Could be really fun :o !!
is there any way to use skins with a higher res than 64x64?
In java, not at the time unless you use default skin and replace steve/alex in a resource pack ^^
I might have downloaded the wrong version and naw it won't close.
EDIT: OK its gone naw
so disappointing i can't use my 256x256 skin, spent hours making one just to find out it doesn't work even on bedrock
I heard the Swedish accent immediately lmfao 😂
Ah shiet.... 😅 I'm exposed
@@ArtsByKev 😈😈 hehe
I was going to say do a 64x64 resolution skin but now I am like "yea that will look weird"
How do you put the texture in game tho. I made a bee but I am struggling to put it in the game for me
Via a resource pack. Are you doing it for java or bedrock?
@@ArtsByKev java
In your resource pack: assets/minecraft/textures/entity/bee/ then you have a few variants of the bee: default, angry, pollum, pollum angry (different names tho)

Hi, i just found this video and app and i was trying to do my own skin but after a few minutes, i had problem. I couldn´t place skin to the background, actually i couldn´t place anything to the background and i have no idea why, i dont even have the option of backgroung. I would be so grateful if you will answer to my comment and help me how to do it or if there is another way how to do it :)) (also im sorry for my english)😅
It would be great if you made a tutorial on how to texture custom blockbench entitiy models
Hmm 🤔👍
in bedrcok u can do 128x128
How do you put it in game?
In bedrock ed, you can apply it via the profile page, then load from file.
tysm
You're welcome
That's great tutorial
ArtsByKev Sorry i didn't reply in the live chat but yes I'm using the block bench webapp
This just had me realize just how much of a difference 32x32 is compared to 16x16
Oh yes, 4 times more detail 😁
64x64 is 8 times more detail to 16, a good example of why many find it easier to work with higher resolutions ☺
Nice! I love your new HD skin
Haha! Oh yeaaaah 😏
Nice! Thank You :D
Oo I can use this feature for my mod 😁
yes i love your blockbench on custom skin but how you making a mobs on custom skin model making a beta
Does this work on Java???
Not as of right now frankly
can you actually use the skin
or is it for show
In Bedrock Edition you can :)
@@ArtsByKev found a way to use it in Java 1.16.5

How would you import this into Minecraft vie only recently discovered what block bench is so I don't know much about it.I know you can do it via mods but I'm wondering if there's a way to do it without mods
The high res skins?
Anything above base 16x16 is Bedrock/Pocket Edition exclusive atm. You just save the texture and upload it to the client :)
do you now why edit doesnt show i tried the app and web app and edit does not come up
how do i make my own bedrock hats?
I want to see the sped-up part at normal speed with explanations, that's the whole reason I came to this video.
A more elaborated aspect of remimagining texture to a higher res? :)

how do you make a block bench hat made with your skin
MORE OF THIS PLEAAAASSSEEEE!!
OKAAAAAAAAY!!
You should make a 5096x skin!
🤨
Great tutorial but how can i uploade this skin in t launcher or the game i mean how can i use it in game
Bedrock Edition supports 32x32 base skins, and you can cheekily apply it to your resource pack (steve model), with the loss of outer layers.
We're still waiting for Java to allow higher skin res :)
とても参考になります!
はい、ちなみにありがとう 😊
Im trying to make a statchu of me but i dont want to paint it one coler by 1 how about importing the texture?
You can, just drag and drop an image in, and move (left little window) where each model cube has its textures applied by selecting a cube in yhe view and then moving the highlighted elements you see in that window.
Be sure to drag your texture - from the texture window, onto the cube(s, select multiple at once to give it to all of em) to add the texture to it.
What id you already have the file/image of the skin and just need to resize it without losing the editing?
Elaborate? Scale it up?
@@ArtsByKev Personally i use Medibang and I've been having issues making the skin 64x64 because when I'm done editing the eyes and resize the image it goes back to how it was before I edited it, so do you have any situations to resizing it in anyway? I've been trying to find one but maybe I haven't been looking hard enough
Blockbench has a built in tool for upscaling, or Photoshop as an example
you failed your tutorial sir. point being is that you forgot to show how to upload it lol just pointing that out :p
thank you very much this is a very informative and entertaining video I will definitely use this on my skin thanks!
Beware that high res skins are currently only available on Bedrock Edition, unless you use no skin in java and applies one via the steve texture in a resource packs textures/entity folder (layers may not exist)
@@ArtsByKev first of all thanks I will keep that in mind and second of all you replied within like 4hours and there's like 179 comments that's some sires commitment thanks!

Hello, I have a question. Can we make a new model skin instead of just painting over the steve, alex, or mobs skins?
Depends 🤔
If you play java you can make mods to override with.
In Bedrock you can replace with an RP.
@@ArtsByKev I see... Thank you!
it says Incorrect image dimensions or The file is too large what i need to do?
32x32 and higher only works in Bedrock Edition atm sadly :(

Like bedrock java or Console
I play/work in all versions 😊

Thanks for letting me know 👍
わかりやすいです‼︎
do you have a tutorial on how to export these to mcpe..?
All you gotta do with textures is to save them. You can use local skins via the character creator ^^
Oh thanks so much
I made my skin like the tutorial, i do in 64x64 and when i tried to import in Minecraft (bedrock) shows me "this is not a Minecraft skin" i literally just do the skin in that scale and nothing more, what should i do? :(
I'm sorry bro, this took 3 mo to reply but there is no other way:( that high pixel resolution isn't suitable for minecraft
For Bedrock
@@ArtsByKev But bedrock tells me isn't a Minecraft skin, but thanks for answer
@@jackfranklindefault42 NOOOO :'(

Excuse me sorry to bother u but when I try to put the 32x skin on it says I can't and it can only be 16x plz help
Aye, 32x32 and higher skin resolutions are exclusive to MC PE/BE atm :/
@@ArtsByKev ok thank u anyways
I just made my own skin using this tutorial. I am very new to this and would like to play with my created skin. I play on Bedrock edition, but I don't know how to start playing with my new character. How do I import it into game?
Open the character creator, choose skin and "import"
@@ArtsByKev i think he means how to get it out of block bench
Save the texture via rightclicking it in Blockbench > then follow the other message.
Can you only import this skin resolution into bedrock or is there some way to import it into java?
You can use it in Java by wearing no player skin and using a resourcepack and have it apply to Steve or Alex within that.
But... that's clientside :)
So cool but does this work for java or it's only for bedrock?
Only bedrock, unless you cheek it by using default skins and applying this to steve or alex in the entities folder of a resource pack
How do you use this?
666th like! NOICE!
Can you use them in game like on hypixe?
These higher res textures works on Bedrock 😊
I didnt quite catch if this is possible to do in Java edition, but I was wondering if it is? Also, can you do any of this without going to photoshop?
Oh! And i would love to see more of these types of videos too! I like watching you break down how you make a skin. But even for more than just skins. Like, doing mob skins, entity textures, item textures, etc
Sadly the HD skins are Bedrock exclusive atm. You do NOT need Photoshop (it just happens to be one of my tools of the trade). And, I will look into more such videos ^^
16x skin, when 32x skin appears: i used to rule the world
They'll still do since java doesn't support 128×128 skins
Ad argue that 16x16 is THE minecraft skin, as it fits with the world, but 32x32 skins are good with packs like faithful.
Seas would rise when I gave the word
I use a mod to get a 1024 x 1024 skin

hi i made my skin with 32 by 32 but i cant use it in Java what do i need to do
Cool but how do I change the model of the skin?
In java, you can't.
In bedrock, you wanna look into becoming a marketplace partner.
Your skin looks superb!!
for some reason when i try to upload the skin i created on MC, it says "this is not a minecraft skin" error, i made a skin with 64x64, and i exported it as a minecraft skin (png), what could i be missing here? i literately started today lol
32x32 is sadly the current limit... :(
I recently made my own 32pxl skin, but I don't know how to apply it. Does anyone know how to do it?
Requires bedrock to work sadly, but you can cheat java by using no skin and putting it in a resource pack as steve or alex.
