Yeah, it's supossed to happen the first time you reach rotten vale. It's under coral highlands (where that monster that fell called Legiana lives), to show that the Rotten Vale is some sort of putrid graveyard for monsters. Either that Legiana died cause of the toxic putrid air from flying too close or the corpse fell from all the way up. Pretty cool way of showing the world building.
