Less birds or more SPACE ensuring enough feed for all. This will stop the canabalism. Overcrowding stresses the birds. This causes aggressive behavior.

I have 2,000 chickens and I never debeaked them. For me, it's a waste of time and resources. The debeaking machine alone is expensive plus the electricity and time you consume doing it. For more than 5 years of growing chickens, I only experienced twice pecking which led to the deaths of 2 laying hens.

Do birds who have enough personal space still have this same behavior or is it just when you have too many birds in a small area without enough resources to go around adequately?
Space plays a role but it's not a sole factor. Ive seen it happen in well spaced and fed birds.
Backyard chickens also do attack on other chicken . because they want a dominance on each other they want to rule .

Yes, it is the same but time consuming, I use to put in 6 knives , but it was hard for a flock of over 1k birds, try it

Today when I was out of feeds for my layers I got a feed called luncefeed for both layers and broilers and the far away the polythene I was seeing it like kouji
Ive had between 50 and 100 free ranging birds for 8 years, I ve never had the canibalism problem.

My name is Hisham from Nigeria. I have been watching your channel for more than two years.
I’ve derived inspiration from what you do and have already started a small farm in northern Nigeria.
A peculiar challenge we have in our end is excessive heat. The weather can be very very hot n most farmers especially layers farmers have decided to stop production because of the low productivity and high mortality rate during the dry season.
Is there an advise you can give from your wealth of experience on how to deal with excessive heat from the weather.

And what's it's benefits
Simply because of cannibalism.
Benefits of cannibalism: it eliminates one of the factors of mortality.
a group of chickens picks on one. It's not always the smallest or weakest. If that one cannot escape (or hide), they keep on going, especially if there is blood. In a way, it's also 'boredom'. It hardly happens with free-range chickens - on a 400-acre farm this is an option?!.
Anyway, take that one out. It takes 1-2 weeks before they have another victim. Take it out. You'll end up with a small group of victims. Problem is, these ones do the same. So free-range these ones. Or eat them :-)
As for the eggs, also debeaked chickens can easily crack open an egg. Only few chickens seem to do this but they kind of 'teach' others. Observe well and get them out. Of course if the eggs roll away out of reach, you are OK.

I wonder what would happen if they weren't stressed by being over crowded and had enough food? I bet things would be good enough that you wouldn't need to debeak them. I wish you would try something else. That is terrible.

Please check the feet of the chicken, you will find it goes on all fours. There are others we eat regularly that are abominable such as the cat fish, snail, prawns or srimps all of these are bottom feeders (or the cleaners of the earth) we are not to eat them, but our disobedient people love them as delicacies. That is why God does not answer their prayers, because God is far from them. Our enemies know us, we unfortunately do not know who we are haven been destroyed through thousands of years of repeated captivity and slavery. Read deutoronomy 28:15-68 and see if any of it is relatable
