The most terrifying movies are those that are believable. The more real the scarier. This isn't remotely believable. The better ending would have the shark just swim away.

Well, I feel sorry for you. Because this is objectively the best shark movie since _Jaws._ It's suspenseful, doesn't overstay its welcome, and Blake Lively carries the movie very well. _The Meg_ was a decent big-budget B-movie, but it was more mid compared to this.
