Season 1 Tree Trunks is the kind grandma you think of because you don't know her backstory. It turns out she's rich and living in a comfortable home by her own merit. She’s probably Finn and Jake's family friend because their parents knew her well enough back when they were solving mysteries. As we get more lore about her, I enjoyed thinking of her as a retired adventurer with a new lease on life after getting married to Mr. Pig and raising Sweet Pea. Her wilding out in the later seasons was her redirecting her wild spirit into her family and the greater good. Wyatt being her man baby husband makes more sense knowing that he was probably her longest term husband prior to Mr. Pig. He was so needy and wanted to keep playing a victim that she realized that he was never going to mature into the equal partner she wanted. In "Joshua and Margaret Investigations", she was distraught that a monster was allegedly eating her pies, only to find out it was Wyatt gaslighting her/ planned an elaborate ruse to keep stealing whole pies to eat. When TT pointed out that he could have asked for seconds i.e. share the pie together, he whined that he wanted to stop when he wanted to stop with 3rds and 4ths. Selfish enough to literally and metaphorically drain TT of her resources and love. I like to think this was TT in her housewife era, baking pies and settle down because that's what Wyatt felt comfortable with. Randy proposed to TT while she was breaking up with him to pursue her own endeavors. Danny deceived her with a dummy brother to get married and away from the ship. Mr. Pig was up front with her from the start. Her being "randy" with men was her looking for love in all the wrong places😅. I think her baker's spirit is an expression of her love for those around her.
He flirty personality is what made me like her. To explain her drastic change, I look to the crystal apple. I think she was suffering from dementia in the first appearance. When she took a bite from the apple and got possessed, I think her mind was partly healed. It was a magical apple and she dose start to show signs of her former self after her time in the crystal dimension.
To be fair, she is at least middle aged and was introduced being hella creepy towards Finn. Calling him sexy, trying to make him her king etc. While Finn was...*checks notes*.... A 14 year old boy with absolutely 0 relationship experience to speak of. *FBI open up*
@@foxmusicalchemistI think it makes it even worse knowing that Tree Trunks knew Finn and Jake’s parents to an extent, so they most likely grew up knowing her or having her presence be around from time to time
Idk if it’s because I discovered the show in my early 20s, but I’ve always been very amused by Tree Trunks. Maybe because she reminds me of Sophia from Golden Girls and I grew up watching that show with my grandpa lol
@@connormarsh6286 1. How dare you say that about my Queen!! To my face no less! 2. That was said by Princess Bonnibell "I do war crimes for breakfast" Bubblegum 3. She's lonely, she's sad, she's desperate for a friend, does that mean she has no self respect?.... Yes, yes it does. Your right about that part, but I still love her damn it!
Idk if this will be mentioned in the video but Tree Trunks getting crystal eyes when she becomes powerful is strangely similar to both the Ancient Psychic Tandem War Elephant, and Magwood (who’s supposedly a dog but it really looks like Tree Trunks to me). There’s just something about these crystal animals that never really goes anywhere. It doesn’t have to, but the connection feels very interesting.
I don't but honestly that is really interesting. I'm sure its a massive coincidence (Well I'm not sure about Magwood they did look very similar for some reason) but it is interesting to think about.
I assumed the ending of "Tree Trunks" was always supposed to dovetail into "Crystals have power". Without the after-credit animation her return would be even more surprising. The first episode ending would be darker and even more incomprehensible, but not necessarily morbid. After all, a poof does not always mean death, we could only assume.
3:24 I remember when i first saw this episode. My family had the first three seasons on dvd (we barely used cable, there was 7 of us at the time, 9 now lol) and we all sat huddled around our tv, having fun watching. Then this shit happened- it was so hilarious for all of us that my mom literally replayed it like 5 times lmfao the best 24:51 twas me. I *begged* for it. Most character intros are gonna be way different from the fleshed out character bc they havent even been made a real person yet. Like you said earlier in the video, they were originally planning on killing her off so they probably didnt think too much about how she would be used later on- they just wanted a sweet old lady for the plot. I love what they did with her character and i do wish that maybe her backstory wouldve been in like an earlier season but i loved it regardless ur just a hater lol 34:00 Rest in piece Polly, you were wonderful
Tree trunks was just like most of us girls who had a toxic mother nd was too empathetic to deal with sad men who took from her. It changed her personality so when we met her she wasn’t her true self and didn’t know healthy love until her relationship with Mr. Pig. Finn and Jake helped her not become too codependent and Mr pig not to rely too much on her. She was giving fearless and strong ❤
How used to like tree trunks? But then figuring out that they made the character promise Having 3 or 4 different marriages just because she got bored in the relationship.
I still hate Tree Trunks lol I don't like how some Adventure Time characters were creeps. Ice King had a point, reminding me of how people with tumors or other brain injuries become inappropriate. Tree Trunks.. I don't get it. It's like an aging Blanche from Golden Girls.
I would excuse the discrepancy between the 1st episode and the rest with the crystal apple having actually killed this universe's version of Tree Trunks, then fusing all the infinite alternate universe versions of Tree Trunks into a single consistent version across the timelines, missing just one degree of kindness.

Need a adventure time X Scott pilgrim episode where Mr pig has to battle all her exes
Sounds pretty epic. And in order to do so, he has to travel across dimensions to find Wyatt, who is now trapped in a silent movie world.
Beautifully crafted video 💕 Gives so much more insight to a character that’s rightfully enjoyed
