I know a young woman from England with whom I became friends and I got such a kick out of her accent. She was hot anyway but the accent just made it all the better. One day I told her I had a little crush on her and to my surprise she had one on me too. So that was pretty awesome. We're not together presently but oh well, it was a long time ago. Didn't last all that long. But anyway, I said her accent was one of the reasons and she said she hated it and tried to change it. I couldn't understand why. Oh well. So sad that some people don't realize what they have. I do kind of miss her, if I'm being honest.

I hate to be that person to make a correction, but the voice actresses for Valanice and Sharpei are in fact different. I know it's crazy; they sound *exactly* the same. I later learned that Carol Bach y Rita (who played Valanice) actually played Stellar Santiago in this game (wat). Unless it's a weird mistake on the IMDB pages but I don't believe it is. As for the game: this is one of my favorite Space Quests. You're right, the puzzle design is pretty absurd. I have personal ties to the game but I am also just a bigger fan of Mandel's writing over Crowe and Murphy's; I personally think it's funnier, and I thought the Tango and Cash reference was particularly so. I still like SQ5 the best, but for nostalgia's and humor's sake, I go for this one. As a Space Quest game in the series, it definitely is an anomaly; just doesn't seem to fit the previous tones of the other games. Excellent and hilarious video as usual, my friend! :)

I didn't know the IMDB page was incorrect; I looked this up a long time ago and believed the credits to be correct since Carol was correctly credited as Stellar. I'm not "bullshitting" (the fuck does that even mean in this context?), I was simply incorrect. There's no need to be an asshole about it; Scarfulhu is my friend, he corrected me, and that's it. There's no need to get preachy about something as innocuous as this.
+Scarfulhu Yeah, I always questioned it too because they sound identical. But then I thought, "well, if they got Stellar right on the page, maybe they got Sharpei right as well." I remember my fans and I looked it up one day during a stream and we were super confused, but didn't have the game credits readily available. I am actually glad it's wrong, otherwise it's way too weird.

Daww. I have a big soft spot for SQ6, I know it's considered one of (if not) the worst of the series, but I have a huge nostalgia connection to it. It was one of the first games dad got on a CD for our new CD ROM drive at the time! WOAH. We were living in the future, but now! (Or then). Just like when I got SQ1VGA with our soundblaster card. The midi blew my prepubescent brain load... Anyway, RIP Gary Owens
Marty Dmf Me too!! It was the first my dad played when I was a kid and my sister and I loved sitting around the computer and watch him play. This game has such a special place in my heart, even if it’s not the best in the series.

10:04 - this is actually a "Don't copy that floppy" move. Having stuff only available in the instruction manual part-way through the game means you'll probably stop pirates from playing it the whole way through. Or, you know, they'll copy the instruction manual, but... who does that?
Actually not. The solution was *not* in the manual. Sierra messed up and cut the extra box materials to save costs, but didn't realise it was required to finish the first act.

At 5:21, I'm surprised he didn't decide to show off the death that you receive if you fall into lava, perhaps that was a tad too graphic for even our Scarfulhu to handle? :)
+Lewis Wilkinson There were plenty more death scenes I could have shown, I just picked a handful. The lava one looks kinda goofy to be honest though. I guess I just find skeletons funny.

+Hugo Bedward That's what I would have thought, but copy protection mostly encompassed floppies. This game was CD-ROM so it wasn't really necessary. I'm pretty sure I heard it was just a timing issue for this one. I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure it wasn't copy protection here.

The "secret attack" for the Street Fighter game is supposed to reference a stupid game kids often play with each other in school etc where they try to make you look at a certain spot you're indicating by forming an O with their fingers (as you can see your fighter character do). When you successfully trick someone into looking at your O-shaped fingers, you have the privilege of giving them a punch and they're not allowed to resist. I have no idea if the game has a name, and even I did I probably wouldn't know what's it's called in English. But it was very common when I was a kid, i.e. when this game was released.
I agree with you on a lot of this stuff. Space Quest VI was out of place, I don't count it to offical SQ lore. And I never ever re-played it in my life, played the others about 5 times.
The setup for this game feels just kinda weird. There have of course been games where Roger lost all his notoriety; his heroism fell out of favor over time by SQ2, he wound up displaced in time and space in SQ3, SQ4 was a time travel plot so his exploits kinda undid themselves. But at the end of SQ6, he’s a captain (albeit through weird means), with a loyal crew, a new love interest, and the entire surviving crew of the *Goliath* owe him their lives. Forget being court-martialed; he should be at an award ceremony for what he did in SQ5, and his crew would have backed him up. It’s such a weird break from the previous game.

+Arthur Serra Lopes It's just a claim as opposed to a strike, but it won't be resolved. As far as I know the other company isn't earning money from the video, but pursuing it further would cause a strike, and while I'm sure that I could fight against that, I really don't want to. March ended up being one of my most successful months ever anyway!

To be fair, about the fruit statue thing working like that, it is repeated that the guard is a very very very veery mypic alien when you look at him.
And the end of the game is definitively better or at least more itersting than the rest of the game. At least the idea of doing a 'fanstasic voyage' thing and cyberspace hadnt been done by the seres yet so it was niceto see a take on it.
