    Thanks for sharing that tool. Didn't know such a think existed but I need one. Do you have any trouble with your bead locks leaking air, a pound or so a day? I've had that problem with at least one tire on my last two sets of tires. Is there a sealant or anything that helps that you would recommend?

    • @AdrenalineJunkieProd
      @AdrenalineJunkieProd  2 роки тому

      Ya, it's a wicked tool! I haven't had any issues for quite a while. Not to the level of a pound a day. Generally its caused by debris or a bend in the rim. You could run some bead sealer on it but it's messy stuff and not sure if it will help. It might for a small leak. I know a lot of people like to run slime, I've had good luck with slime in the past but not sure how it will help with your bead leak. Are you sure its the beadlock? Have you checked the valve stem with soapy water and the valve core? Maybe try inflating the wheel to about 30psi and seeing if that helps you locate the specific spot it's leaking. In the past i've removed the ring and cleaned the tire and wheel well and solved similar issues. It's always a pain dealing with this kinda stuff.

    • @samuelwilliams8560
      @samuelwilliams8560 2 роки тому +1

      Jason, did you fill that tire with air from a compressor, or CO2 from a tank? CO2 leaks through rubber a lot faster than air, so if that tire was filled up on a trail with a CO2 tank, that may explain why it appears to be leaking faster.
      Background: The permeability of a gas through rubber depends mainly on its diffusivity and solubility in rubber. CO2 has a significantly higher solubility in rubber than O2 and N2, whereas the diffusion coefficients don’t differ that much. The result is that carbon dioxide (CO2) passes through ordinary rubber about 5 times faster than oxygen (O2) and about 15 times faster than nitrogen (N2). Google “Permeability of Rubber to Gases by Junius David Edwards and S.F. Pickering” for more details. It’s a scientific study from 1920, but still relevant today, over 100 years later.

    Nice video/ tool... I've been using a trailer tongue jack OR drive trk. on to tire sidewall, to break bead. (Depending on wheel) Like that 550 tool but $250+ is a little steep for what it is. Did Google search and Wal-Mart pops up with a different brand name replica for $59.00 (to my door) Yeah! I'll test it for that price.
    would have given $100-150 for Beadbuster brand but $250. Gonna try this knock off.
    Thanks for the tip. 👍

    • @AdrenalineJunkieProd
      @AdrenalineJunkieProd  2 роки тому +1

      Let me know how the knock off works out! Ya, they are a little pricey but I don't mind spending a few extra bucks on a product that works well that I will have for many years to come. When I can I rather support the brand that developed a product over the replicators in the market. However, it's not always an option when money is concerned. You gotta go where the budget allows, I totally understand that and it's often a deciding factor for me too.

    • @jemadv1594
      @jemadv1594 2 роки тому

      @@AdrenalineJunkieProd Me too. $100-150 would have supported the brand.
      Bead Buster offered a China made replica about 5+ yr. ago for less. Maybe this is it under a different name? 🤔
      Fisher's did a video about 8 yr. ago showing all the models. (Yellow was China brand.)

    • @AdrenalineJunkieProd
      @AdrenalineJunkieProd  2 роки тому +1

      @@jemadv1594 Ya, I saw the video he did. I checked out a bunch of their products and it looks like the smaller yellow models are being manufactured in Taiwan. However, they are still under the Bead Buster brand name. With that being said, this is a really easy product to duplicate and knock off. I wouldn't be surprised if the overseas clones are pretty much identical. It's just the way our marketplace is these days. Design a product and hope you can build a strong enough brand, as well as, saturate the market quickly early on before the scavengers and bottom feeds creep in and duplicate it.

      There is an optional additional plastic cover you can run on it to further reduce chance of scratching. Generally speaking it doesn’t cause any damage if you are careful but at times it can leave a small make on the inside of the rim and bead but you can’t see it because it’s under the tire. I wouldn’t use it on a set of expensive car wheels but for anything else it works great.
