    Hiya Lee, I've just been watching Garden Rescue (the episode with Karin and Chris) and was gobsmacked at the end result - Congratulations on all that you have achieved - Very much well deserved for the hard work you have put in to your craft over many years. Wishing you all the very best, and please keep doing what you do, Pea x

      Aww thanks so much for the lovely feedback and comment. Don’t worry. I’m going to keep on doing what I love to do. Which is design gardens and help new gardeners unlock the benefits of their garden spaces! Happy gardening. Lee 🥷🌿🥰

      Hi Tippy. Yes I thought it’s a bit of a whimsy plant for me and why not. Fingers crossed it survives and establishes!! First year or so is always the hardest for such plants when you’re recreating the conditions they like! 🥷🌿👍

    Ok first of all, AMAZING SHIRT! And second, brilliant idea lining the planting hole for the Gunnera with plastic! Can’t wait to see it grow!

    Love your videos, because you are a great teacher and you have a cute supervisor. Unfortunately I can´t watch the show on BBC in Germany, so I have to wait (much too long) for Amazon Prime.

      Hi Donald. Well sometimes it’s worth trying new things and big gardens get a bad rep as boring but that shouldn’t be the case!!! Have a great week. 🥷🌿👌Lee

    I love guneras! How quickly do they grow and how big?!?

    • @Gardenninja
      @Gardenninja  2 роки тому

      Hi Katspray. They tend to form a solid root ball first and then in a year or two will start really putting in growth. They are deciduous so loose their leaves over winter. Hence the need for a root ball so each year they can fire up growth! 🥷🌿🥰

    Lee have you any vids on growing acer trees thanks

    • @GB-qu1kq
      @GB-qu1kq 2 роки тому +1

      Morning Lee l love tree's, but only the appropriate tree in the appropriate place!
      Unfortunately some people do not know a thing about how the right tree in the right place is so important for not damaging Boundaries and path's in their neighbour's garden's!?
      As for Acer tree's there are so many beautiful tree's to choose from and l would like to know what the appropriate area needs to be in size, as obviously you have the root system and canopy to take into account when planting any tree!?
      Enjoy your gardening tips and l am out in my garden now after you recommending getting the weed's and invasive Plant's out or under control now! I have been far too late in the past in getting on top of the weed control!?

    • @Gardenninja
      @Gardenninja  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Paul. If you follow my Feb tour or the bareroot tree planting guide that will help. Acers just like other deciduous trees are usually planted in winter. If planting a container Acer. Water it well the day before you plant it. Dig a hole 1.5x Don’t feed! Plant. Water well and then water every week for the first few months. That’s pretty much it! Good luck planting!! 🥷🌿👍

    • @Gardenninja
      @Gardenninja  2 роки тому +1

      Hi GB. Couldn’t agree more but there a huge misunderstanding about tree roots ruining foundation etc. Only a few trees would do this and you’d be mad to plant them. However Acers are super slow growing. Always consider boundaries and shade but other than that plant away!!! It’s never too late to start weeding. Get going!!! 😉🥷🌿

      @@Gardenninja l have been out in my back garden today.
      The tree's that my neighbour has planted are a Silver Birch right up against the hedge and it lifting my path and pushing my lawn edging slab's out of alignment!
      The Oak tree planted itself and although l asked for my neighbour to pull it up as it had only just sprouted , he said yes and then didn't and it is up against the Boundary hedge and about 5ft away from the Silver Birch!?
      Seriously it is a nightmare!
      My neighbour has said l will have to pay for all the damage his tree's are doing to my path, Boundary and lawn slab's!
      I cannot get insurance now to cover me for the damage!
      On Gardener's World they are always going on about planting a tree for effect in your garden, but there is never any advice on why you shouldn't if when it starts growing it can cause major problems for your neighbour's!
      Sorry to have wittered on , but if l was causing problems to this extent for my neighbours the tree's would have to come down!
      I was brought up in the country so l know the damage that tree's can and will do over time!
      Have a lovely Bank Holiday.
      Thank you for the advice about the Acer as l was thinking of putting it in a pot, so it will have to be a smaller variety.

    Are the gunnera invasive? Do you need to control them like bamboo? Thanks Lee I’ve missed you 🥰

    • @Gardenninja
      @Gardenninja  2 роки тому +1

      Aww thanks Harold. They can be invasive in water ways. Ie river banks. Here however it will be really well behaved because I control the moisture level and there’s no where for it to escape to! 🥷🌿👌
