This is the first song that got me down the Sleep Token rabbit hole. I'll say that Blood Sport is the song I listen to most by them. Both the album version and "From the Room Below" version are great, but The Room Below is so much more intimate.
Their bassist is very underrated. Vessel and the drummer hog the spotlight, and deservedly so, but their base guides the melody a lot of the time, and the guitar work is incredibly effective without being overly complicated. I think they both need more attention than they receive!
Looking at the credits on the first two albums, Vessel and the drummer are the studio band (although their producer George Lever is credited on bass). Obviously they need to bring in other people to do it live.
@@djin81 Same with new album too. So basically all the music (sans drums, side note their drummer is really great) is written by Vessel. Really made me appreciate everything even more knowing it's basically all the artistic vision of one person
I find this funny considering Vessel is technically their bassist and guitarist. He does everything in the studio besides drums. III and IV are only paid tourists
I’m a sucker for nerdy science lyrics. Ever hear “Third Rock From The Sun” by Joe Diffe? It’s a totally different genre and topic but uses science lyrics in a fun way. This song is a little dreary but still interesting, similar to my ear as Evanescence. I’ve seen Tool in concert.

Sleep Token - Bloodsport (from the room below) is the most beautiful song I've ever heard. Just vessel singing raw while playing the piano beautifully. I definitely recommend it. Just turn off the video after he rests his head down at the end of the video before the music label scene kicks in, it ruins the feel lol

it's funny because in the live videos there are always lot of people praising the bassist and of course whatching him perform is so fun and refreshing
