In this second video of the series about key squares, IM Alex Astaneh will have a look at more complicated examples and different cases in order to deepen your understanding of the key squares theory.
    Summary:
    - The rule book for the key squares theory changes, when the pawns moved beyond the half of the board (beyond the 4th rank). Once that happens, we still have our usual key squares but that in-between row that we typically skip suddenly, we don’t skip it anymore. This is very good news for the side with the pawn that is pushing and bad news for the defensive side.
Another special rule applies for the rook-pawn:
    - For all the pawns with the exception of the rook-pawns there are usually three key squares, at least if the pawn is in your half of the board. If on the other hand, the pawn is, after crossing over into the opponent's half of the board, then you have three additional key squares, so in total six key squares.
    - Rook-pawns are giving you only two key squares. g8, g7, g1, g2 - Similarly on the other side of the board.

So clear. So great. These videos are definitely the most under appreciated corner of UA-cam. Thank you.

This is great stuff! Will you be discussing blocked pawn key squares in this series?
Oh, also, for "regular" key squares, can you do some of those paradoxical "long way around" examples, where White takes a long route around the back of his pawn to beat the Black king to a "further" key square, because the shorter route would lose the race to the "nearer" key square? Those are very practical situations for getting the win rather than messing up and drawing with the "natural" direct route.
