surely the best and cheapest most rugged survival pants you can get is to simply strip off and start wrapping your entire lower half in gorilla tape, I've been wearing my pair for 3 months solid now and they're just sooooo comfy, the only problem with them was the fact that i had to perform surgery upon myself to fit myself with a colostomy and urostomy bag, now its all plain sailing.

I'm retired military. Have worn a uniform most of my life. I bought a pair of these pants because I love the cargo pockets foe the amount of gear I carry around daily. I love 'em! They dry fairly quickly. Will be investing in more of these pants. They are worth the investment.

I’ve been wearing these pants for the past year. I work as a manager at the usps and they have held up beautifully. With regards to the fraying, I have noticed a little, but all I did was took a lighter and removed those frays and have not had any issues since. Also, I was able to find my pants for around $30 each off of Amazon and I got 2 pair. I will be ordering more of these pants in different colors.

I have two pairs of LAPG Operator pants and a pair of 5.11 pants with the knee inserts. I found the 5.11's at Goodwill for just under five bucks and they still had a price tag attached. All three pants are very comfortable. The operator pants have lasted me two years now and show very little sign of wear. I paid $30 for each of the operator pants. However, like you, I wear shorts well into my winter hikes and don long johns (Nike) should it be necessary. My hiking shorts are by Columbia and I love them for the comfort factor. Another option are my And 1 sports pants with the cargo pockets and they are lightweight, quick drying (wicks well) and are just super comfortable. They double as my work out pants at the gym. I am a miser when it comes to expenditures on outdoor gear and apparel. I cannot justify spending over $100 except for hiking boots and shoes (and ski boots). Much of my gear is military surplus and bargains from ebay, Goodwill and yard sales. It's amazing what you can find if you're patient and willing to search. Just this past summer I found a 12-ft Emotion kayak for $50. I had to buy a new paddle at a Dick's sidewalk sale for $20.

Luke, I like the Tru-Spec 24/7 Tactical pants. They offer all of the same features as the Proper pants with only a slightly different pocket configuration. The regular price on the Tru-Spec pants are about the same as Proper, but they are often on sale at various merchants for $32-$35. I see others have mentioned LA Police Gear pants. I own a number of those and they offer an even better value, but slightly less quality, in my opinion.

Tried a variant of these, weak point on MY pair was the zipper, loss of teeth so need new zip, also mine had shallow pockets and a tight fit, I would now say "Try before you buy". ps my 5.11 dont have these issues but are heavy for summer wear, 5.11 seem to be better quality than the Facebook specials I have once tried, I have learnt.

I just got a pair, 32-32 Olive stretch/Flex Fit off Primary Arms on sale for $30 & the Propper OD Green/ flip for camo "uni $8 stiff belt." Great for Conceal Carry! Very comfortable & waterproofed because of the material & the way it's stiched ..
I wear mine out on the town & outdoors in stickers & barbwire. No tears, etc.. Definitely true to size. I normally wear a 32-34 with my boots but they only had 32-32 & these fit really good with my boots. These lightweight stretchy pants has pockets everywhere, non that really fit my Note 10+ very well. I burned off my loose threads. Stains wash out easily also.

I was recently (early 2022) issued these pants as a police officer. So far they have been very comfortable and held up will. I have worn these every day for about 5 weeks now and I think my department could have chosen much worse pants to issue us.

Columbia makes some nice light weight convertible cargo pants with Omni-Shade material to stop sun burn. The're great for hot weather.. They dry fast and you can unzip the lower pant to convert them to shorts. Mine have held up well in and out of the river water and hiking trails, good stitching. They run around $45 bucks.

I have wore these plans for outdoor use on numerous occasions I wear a 3X pair of pants I like them because they come in my size and they come in multiple different colors as far as durability goes I have never seen the issues that you have had with these pants so you might want to contact property and let them know that you're having problems like this and I'm sure that they will resolve it again these are great excellent pants I have stand behind them 100%

LA Police Gear has pants very similar and I know they are durable. I've had 4 pair for I'd say 5 or 6 years and there have been no issues. I've wore them out in the bush and even to work. They are "DEFINITELY" worth it. When I saw these I thought they looked like the same pant with the rip stop and all. When you said those were worth the money I almost laughed, LA Police Gear's are $25. Seriously they are almost new and I've wore them a lot.

First thing i always look is the depth of crotch, most of the problem is in that area, too deep crotch like this one you are showing here is just lacking in mobility, example at 5:53 you can see the crotch area at half of your thighs can even take a knee properly, first thing in "tactical" pants should be mobility and that is sure a problem here...

Tactical pants are made for casual use, pants that you can conceal carry in the public domain and have the tactical features, with casual look, if you want something that is durable you need bdu's. Those pants aren't meant for bushcrafting, BDU's are.

Looks like a less expensive version of 5.11 stryke pants. Speaking of which I luv my stryke pants. I've ended up replacing all but one pair of my jeans with them. I've had two pairs for over a year and another two pairs for a few months. I used to have another pair that I owned for over a year but I recently blew out the crotch area on that one.

Hey Luke, thanks for the info. Have you looked at the LA Police Gear Urban Ops Tactical Pants? I've seen some "bushcrafters" say they are great so I bought mine around -2- years ago and they seem to hold up. Then again, I'm far from an expert I just like the tactical for my everyday use with the pockets, and they are comfortable. And at a price of under $25, I'd love to hear if you have an opinion on them. By the way, my bank account hates you since you show far too many toys I seem to feel a need to purchase. Thanks for all your hard work on all these reviews, it goes miles for us guys who need the truth about products. Stay safe out there my friend.

I have had these pants for about 5 years. I wear them when I am not at work. The only complaint I have is about the sewing on one Velcro tab for one front pocket. It is "mendable," but like many people, I am not the best with needle and thread. Would I buy these again? I sure would! At $20 they are very much worth it. The error in sewing was only in one pair of 4 shorts and pants that I bought.
