The French fly is a hidden extra closure with an inside button tab attached to an internal belt or waist stay. its function is to allow the flap of the fly to sit down smooth and flat in a more relaxed way by taking any strain off the top of the zipper

I believe that. Just makes it harder to go to the bathroom

I guess I never had a problem with it considering the rest of the fly was also buttons.

$28 on sale at Primary Arms.
I have a pair of Propper OD Green Stretch/Flex Fit lightweight & love them! Waterproof, stretchy & extremely comfortable & pockets everywhere! They are great for Conceal Carry. I got mine & the Propper UNI OD Green/ flip over Camo belt as well. The sizes are correct as well, I normally like a longer leg size for when I wear my boots but 32-32 fit perfectly! Where as I would normally get a 32-34. I'm 6'1" 175lb. Note- no good access pocket for my Note 10+

I have 3 pairs of 5.11 Taclite pro shorts and that secondary closure should have been primary closure instead of that snap Imho . I like the Taclite pro's but one one occasion only the snap did pop open as I bent over and put some torque on it .
I just ordered 2 pairs of the 5.11 stryke shorts so we'll see how they go . I like the idea of a button primary closure on them
I also ordered a pair of the propper Kinetic shorts too . They were the cheapest at 33 bucks on sale . Don't know what to expect from them .
But I do like 5.11 shorts and the stretch waist ... Theyre very durable shorts. Not cheap but ya get what ya pay for . I also have a 5.11 rush 72 pack too . Love that thing .

Seems to me like a more square-y version of 5.11’s Stryke. Not too shabby. I wonder, though, how the overall feel of them is, compared to the Stryke. Great video!

I think they are in the same ballpark. They both have similar fits and pockets.

    the real question is
how many more SHOT Shows before we get to see the first prototype from SnareMan Tact?

    • @SnareMan

RizetoPower believe me, I've tried. I made a whole bunch of suggestions to lapolicegear for the pants that they are supposed to be coming out with. Waiting to see what turns up.

      I'll be waiting too.
I mean, if you couldn't design the ultimate tactical pants, who could?

I certainly have my opinions one what I think would work. :-)

well you are definitely qualified to be a tactical pant expert.
and if lapolicegear doesn't work out, create your own brand.;)

I agree with other viewers and I think you are the man to consult if I were a tactical pants manufacturer.
By the way, what do you think about the rubberized stripe worn directly on the skin ? Thanks a lot !!!

Good to see someone copying the best pants, 5.11 Stryke. I might get some if they hold their colors for years. Or I'll play it safe and get tan.
I also don't like the inner button and would take it out.
The rubber thing could be: "Proven to stop plumber ass crack" haha. I always tuck in button up shirts for work, so that might be good.
I have never owned fabric softener.
I'll probably upgrade my old S5 to an unlocked S9 if I can find it. I hear it's good.
I keep a Leatherman Wingman in the pocket opposite my phone.
I remember one thing I don't like about pants. The ones with flaps on the back can be pushed up on their ends and I'd rather not have any flaps. What person buying these pants for all the other pockets would even use the butt pockets? We learned a long time ago we don't want sit on things in those pockets. I cut off the inner lip on both sides of the 5.11 Stryke pant's back flaps so they can't be pushed up.

Yea, I suppose they are fairly similar.

I've decided to save hundreds of dollars and get the new Moto G6 phone instead of one like the S9.

I used to be all Moto for their large batteries, but they seem to have lost their way in recent years IMO.

What is the seamed hole on both front pockets for?

Thought those front pockets were for pistol magazines. lol!

Nice pants, but overpriced for what they are. Should be more like $35 or $40. The LAPG Atlas pant are significantly better than these and cheaper.

    • @SnareMan
      @SnareMan  6 років тому

It seems to be about where the market is as far as price other than with the LAPG stuff which is always cheaper.

Poor man's stryke pants. Just like their taclite knockoffs they are going to tear, split, and blow out. Every pair of propers I have owned the seams come unstitched and they fade super fast. Spend the extra few bucks and get 5.11 pants that will last.

I have a pair of 5.11and Proper pants . Both doing fine so far. Then again I don't use them as most folks would in LE or military duties. I find them comfortable/durable. I'm retired military and after 30 years of service I grew accustomed to wearing tactical clothing. Still wear military boots.I own a air of Tactical Research/Vibram boots. Some things are harder to let go than others I guess. lol! ;)
