I think Hag could have been better against a non-cleave board if you run the "Summon a copy when attacked" secret.
1. Hag in front
2. Leeroy
3. Leeroy
If you go first, Hag reborns the first Leeroy, when the enemy attacks in there's a 50/50 chance you get a reborn, taunted, 3/3 Leeroy. If you go second, one Leeroy always dies, then Hag attacks in, reborns the other Leeroy and when the opponent attacks into the reborn Leeroy you get a 3/3 Reborn Taunt copy of Leeroy.
If the opponent has cleave then you are just sad.

Why buff the Leroys at that point adding gems to them is worthless since your gems were 90% attack not that it mattered since your other minions had stupid amounts of attack but seems wasteful

He's playing around small taunts like Brann or whatever. That is the typical way to neutralize leeroy once he is out of blaster range. If the leeroy is buffed big enough to kill the small taunt without dying, then it can stick around to execute a much larger minion that attacks into it.
