Hey @Raptor Im german so Nebelwerfer means in english fog thrower. At the beginning the task for this maschine was to throw smoke over the battle field after that it was the counter for the russian Katjuscha. o7

It was named as such to fool the Allies into thinking that it was a smoke launcher, not a missile launcher, hence the name "Nebelwerfer" (literally "fog thrower")

To be fair, those men on boats did have the British and U.S navies to soften up the German defenses.
They also had B25s but the cloud cover was to thick
Well, they were the least defended beaches in all the atlantic coast. And if the panzer divisions were there, then goodbye D-day.
The tank that flew and got nailed by AT at 17:01 actually got hit TWICE by AT if you pay close attention
