Have you tried to engrave different colours of metal business cards? I have soms green, blue and purple but the settings are not the same with the black metal business card... And still looking for better results 😅
We are aware yes, actually it’s pretty funny timing that you mention this because we were going through our copyright alerts a few days ago 😂 they also had a few others of ours and like 7 other channels doing the same. Some with 10k+ subscribers which made us kinda mad 😂. Thanks for sharing with us anyways! We really appreciate it!
With any blue diode laser you’ll typically want to use a black paint, marking spray or similar method for glass, Like the LP2 the xTool F1 can engrave on glass with these methods. We have a few shorts on our account where we demonstrate this
Hi, I love your videos they are very easy to understand and effective to work with them, I would like to engrave photos in gold plated charms, can you make a video with that sample? That’ll be great for me ❤
Would love to see you do a photo image on a slate coaster. Preferably one that is of a white image such as a white dog or rabbit. That’s the process I’m really trying to nail down on the F1
i was wondering if you have an email I could talk to you at, I need to laser some stuff but cannot afford one so I thought I could ask if you could do it for me! Thanks
How did you get the photo on the metal business card to fit like that? Did you use the xtool software or crop it using another program and what were your settings?
Yeah you can no do it in XCS on the newer versions. It’s called masking. We have a video that goes over this feature here. Hope that helps! ua-cam.com/video/VphNAmR2Z9E/v-deo.htmlsi=M99cbrRRKUxcV4se&t=930
Thank you! You bet, with stainless you ideally want to be any where between 2-20 speed, 100% power, and 300 lines per cm. The lower speed the better but it just depends on how big your design is and how much time you have. For any small jewelry or keychains we typically do around 5 for speed. Hope that helps!
Thank you! Yep you’re right it is a vector. Here are the settings. IR laser Power: 100, Speed: 60, Lines Per CM: 260 You could probably speed it up a bit but we like that speed for nice bright white engravings on slate
Here is a short where we ran some test on acrylic might be a good starting point. You can increase the dot duration to make brighter images or decrease to darken. Small Photo Engrave Part 2 This Time with Acrylic #xtool ua-cam.com/users/shortsU7Nsyqh3G3o?feature=share
For the photo printed on the card- is that the card sold through XTool? I purchased elsewhere and do not have that “clank” to them. Looking for exactly that! Thanks!!
We were looking for a clanky card too! 😂 Purchased ours off of Amazon and we love them. Here are our affiliate links, we placed the ones we get closer to the top so it’s easier for you to find. The ones in the video are the medium ones, thick ones are the best but quite a bit more 💰Hope that helps! linktr.ee/VelfCreations
I have an F1 and dislike doing photos or other complex artwork. It takes too long for a business. It's fine for personal use when time doesn't matter, I suppose. I'll be sticking with customization using simple lettering and artwork.
Fair enough, we came from using a Glowforge on slate coasters and photos do engrave much faster with the F1. But yeah we agree it is definitely one of the longer types of projects.
Really just trial and error. With any new material, we always try getting once that we can test with. We also start with full power and a higher speed than we think we will need, then work our way down with the speed. And we make videos like this to hopefully give our viewers a head start, but photos can be tricky and each photo may need minor adjustments.
We’re not exactly sure where we got the one in this video, it was in a cabinet and fit perfectly but it broke recently. Currently we bought a 2 pack of 5inch rechargeable usb c cabinet lights from Home Depot. They are really nice and dimmable too! We attached them with some Velcro command strips. Hope that helps! Note: They work great but if you plan on recording video they do flicker if you don’t have the perfect shutter speed. www.homedepot.com/p/5-in-Rechargeable-Battery-Dimmable-Bright-White-LED-White-Portable-Task-Light-2-Pack-RE1174WHG05LF2D/322631527

Are you aware that ‘Swing Design’ have duplicated this exact video?

Will this engrave glass, like wine glass or a glass beer mug like the LP2?

Great video. What were your settings for the JOY words on the slate coaster? I am assuming they were different from the photo that was engraved.
Thank you! Yep you’re right it is a vector.
Here are the settings.

@@VelfCreations The F1 is faster? Oh wow! Well, at any rate, thank you for the video. 🙂
Omg thankkkk youuuu...as an F1 user I am so glad i found this video!
You are very welcome! We are glad that we can be helpful!
This was super helpful! But what about doing a photo on a glass mug?
Ohhh I like the idea 😄 We will start testing
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
THANK YOU!!!!
Did you do anything to the photos before ccs ?
Nope, just directly imported the photos. XCS does a great job!
can you do a photo on sterling silver or stainless steel ?
We will give it a try!
HOW DO U KNOW WHICH SETTING, LIKE POWER ETC

How about Zinc / Alloy, as in a coin?
I would avoid anything zinc related, due to the dangers of fumes that it gives. (My personal choice though, even if most of the fumes are vented etc).
What light do you use on your f1?
