I watch a good amount of historical fashion videos, so when she was doing her hair, I felt like there was something off but couldn't really place it. It was about when Rachel said "...I'm wondering if [the hairpiece matching] really matters when we start adding the hair powder" that I suddenly remembered that you are supposed to powder your hair BEFORE you style it. On the other hand, dry shampoo is basically the same thing, so close enough I suppose! XD sidenote: hair powdering is where "powder rooms" came from! Since they did it regularly (about once a week I think), some houses had a specific powdering room to contain the mess.
@@jessiejvr1783 It does help with the tall hairstyles, and make the hair softer and more voluminous, but the main reason is hygiene. Rachel: Today I'm going to be a Rococo lady! Also Rachel: *Stacks chips on a Jersey Mike's Sub*
Wow those ending shots were absolutely STUNNING! Looked like a literal movie footage gracing my eyeballs! Really amazing work you looked so pretty! I loved seeing this come together and the struggles !
Really nice to watch this after waking up from a stress nightmare Helped balance me out. I often save ur videos for when im really struggling, they always work ,Thank you Rachel
The other day, my husband told me he would like to own a Rococo house one day. I don't think he knew what that meant, but now I am inspired to dress up for the occasion 😂.
You look positively smashing in that dress!
8:13 OMG YAAS QUEEN AMIDALA SLAAAAAAYYYYY
Rachel during make over: I am a potato.
During photo shoot: is goddess.
Fo SHO!!! .... goddess!
5:41 gave me Tiffany in the end of seed of chucky vibes 😂❤️
This was really fun. I especially loved the cut in of you eating with Nick. It’s just so funny to me how my boyfriend doesn’t even react when I have on crazy makeup. Sometimes I get a got chuckle from him at the midway point when even I’m telling myself to trust the process. 😄
Honestly I’ve never been a makeup person or understood makeup persons, but now I see. It’s an art form only some can master and this right here belongs on a masterpiece classic tv show. Bravo lassie👏🏼
Oh! Oh! Oh! I just had the best idea!!
Rachel, while your hair is still black/dark you should totally do a (historical?) Snow White cosplay thing! Full out, extra pale, pouty red lip and all of that 😍 Or, I know you're kinda into armor and such, you could do a Snow White and the Huntsman cosplay 😁👍
Me, normally watching this: Ah, lovely.
My writer brain: Hm, yes.. Rachel in a Rococo look is perfect for some character inspiration for my fantasy novel.
I love how you just bring any vision to life, no matter how "in your head" it is. you think it or see it, then (eventually lol) do it. and you laugh at your own failures instead of feeling embarrassed. please don't ever change.
The cinematography and drone shots were beautiful! Awesome work Rachel!
Rachel, thank you for being such a quirky and positive person. It's such a breath of fresh air on the internet. Keep up the good work!
Certainly another reason to look forward to Fridays
These aerial shots in the field were majestic! The cinematography of all the reveal shots were lovely, you have a taste for those and it shows! (also your camera person does great work!)
Okay but you *nailed* the timing on the golden evening light! The ending with the candle was a pretty finishing touch, too!
The perfect marriage of chaotic, glorious nonsense and breathtakingly beautiful art. THIS IS WHY I LOVE YOU. 💚💚💚💚
That reveal footage looked like a freaking movie. Absolutely amazing and so beautiful
Yay dress up video!!!!! Gotta love dress up videos!
Also
“The only good mercury is the planet and Freddie.” made me laugh cuz Freddie is DEFINITELY a good mercury. I love Queen
The shots of the frolicking in the field are soooooo pretty!! 💞
That final look was a WHOLE ASS MOVIE. It was so freaking perfect I have no words. You are so beautiful and talented Rachel!!
"I made a mark where I touched my forehead" girl cover it up with a beauty spot!!! That's what they're for! 😂❤️
Does Nick get all smooshy when he films you in these looks?...because you look beee-u-tiful in this look and that stunning dress! You would totally be the belle of the 18th century court in this. Awesome video. Loved it! 🌸💗.
I was thinking the same thing! If I had a wife this beautiful, I would never get anything done!
He better have at least noticed the bosoms. But the rest of her is also 💋
Same
Rachel's natural habitats; peaceful beautiful field or dark makers cave, there is no middle ground or halfway. ❤️ Fun video, I love when you just go for it!
I've never been this early to any of Rachel's videos and I'm getting a bit emotional about this accomplishment 😂
Me too!
Same here, sO eXcItEdDdD
13:10 --- Me after literally one bite of fried dough at the fair. Every time.
"I feel like playing dress up and as a 30 yr old, I can do that... whenever I want" 😁 Me. Every. Day.
I am loving your appreciation of everything being green at the moment...do love every shade of green xx
As soon as she said, “eyebrows,” my mind instantly went to Miss Congeniality!
“Eyebrows… there should be two!”
Hahaha 😀, yeah that's a good line!
Oh my gosh yes! Also, a little bit of Anne Hathaway getting her makeover in The Princess Diaries! He like names them “Frida and ‘something-I-cannot-remember-at-this-exact-moment-so-please-forgive-me’.” I’m so happy and genuinely surprised that I am not the only one who actually had that quote you mention pop into my head when she said eyebrows.

It never ceases to amaze me how you can pull off pretty much any era of clothing and make it look amazing! 🙌😍👏
LOL Gotta say, I love it when you go all whimsy in the whole look. And Nick has got to be one of the coolest guys around. Kudos to you both for living lives of fun and exploration without meanness. Blessings to you both.
Lol I literally always say "Smells like birthday" when I blow out candles! 😂🙌 Might be why I love the smell - reminds me of birthdays 🥰
The moment the sun went behind some clouds… your face and reaction made me shed actual tears and laugh so hard my stomach hurt 😂❤️❤️❤️ you’re my favorite
Hahaha lol Kitten will rule the world!!!🤣😆 Love your video yet again!
Ugh this is a masterpiece! I had such a good laugh, but holy shit, the shots at the end were beautiful. Everything I want out of content so thank you, Rachel!
Gee whiz, I love how much fun you’re having here! Also: “I had to listen to the call of the wild” is my new favorite way of explaining my own puzzling decisions.
I adore how indulgent the past two videos have been! It’s such a blast seeing Rachel up to her good ol’ shenaniganry
So much fun here! Wild preparations and you always get the cool shots at the end!
Eating a little lunch watching a little Masky. Good day! Thanks for making my Friday's brighter. Hello to Binx, Sir Frodo, and Nicholas! Hope you all have a good day and I hope Frodo got Nick a really good Father's Day Gift perhaps a premium bone of sorts.
the lighting in the reveal and post chat are both sooooo beautiful!!!
It's Friday already? Yay!
Honestly this is the best kind of content from you. This is why I started following you in the first place years ago. Historical or historical ish dress up 💗
Rachel:
*Opens literal hair powder*
Also Rachel:
Oh let me go get my dry shampoo!
Abby cox in the background:
*Have I taught you nothing!?* (murderous intent)
Right? I was like “But that’s what the powder is for?!”
Rachel also needs pomade to keep the hair powder on her hair! Oh well ...
Abby would have a minor coronary watching this video - its probably best if she never see's it. 😵
The song while you were powdering your hair is one of the ones they use when you're on hold for the NHS in the UK. So nice to hear it in good quality!!
My life has been a literal dumpster fire the last few months and your videos are bringing me even more you than they already have. Thanks for being you, Rachel 💜
Loved how concerned Nick was! “You gonna be able to eat in that?” Thank you for the awesome video!
rachel, amidst all the trauma in the world, you make life happy & beautiful!
My favorite part was the frolicking in the field! So wonderful!
Okay I had to stop the video to write a comment because Rachel has never seen the Nanny?!?! giiiirl you gotta, I feel like it would be right up your alley, it's so iconic✨
Also those reveal shots were A++!! The lighting, the posing, I loved it so much!
This video had all the feels of Rachel in her first home and I am 100% here for it! Something about the green chair and the floral wallpaper and her in that gorgeous field, all coupled with her beautiful hair and costume, just was filled with nostalgia. Thank you for such wonderful Saturday morning content. ♥️♥️♥️
Heads up, you got a huge shout out from young UA-camr Karolina from the Czech Republic,in ep 26 of Hand Crafted Homestead. She aspires to do videos more like you! Did you realize what an excellent role model you have been for young girls and women to be themselves unapologetically? Keep up the good work, doing what brings you joy, gives us all a much needed boost in self esteem and serotonin!😻
isn't Karolina from Poland?
@@lamoinette23 || I guess they're talking about another UA-camr?
Edit: I looked it up. The channel they're talking about is "Handcrafted Homestead" (like they said in the video title so it was easy to look it up). And nope, that channel is not meme-mom.
I love that you have been in your new home for 2 years and I've been here for the ride.
I imagine the people that review the sponsor ads becoming inmediately in love with Rachel's personality and subscribing to the channel inmediately, and it makes me happy
The cinematography of those outdoor shots in the end was so nice!!!
"If historical accuracy is your cup of tea, I am not the barista for you" is my new favorite saying thank you
This look is 😍😍😍😍😍
I love every part of this video ✨✨✨✨✨
The reveal shots with that light ! And even the recap with the candle...
Rachel you are such a creative maker, I love watching everything you do
xx
"If historical accuracy is your cup of tea, I am not the batista for you." This is such a clever and funny quote.
This was so much fun to watch! I loved the little historical bits you included, and boy was the golden hour frolicking ✨beautiful✨
YAY 💓💞💗 "Sprinkle yourself like the beignet you are.". I laughed so hard.
Absolutely LOVE the part of the 1700s aesthetic shots at the end where your tattoo comes into view! Some sort of vibes!!!
Now I only dream of Rachel & Micarah Tewers' collab in robe a la francaise dresses (probably as Barbie Movies characters)
P.S. Yay for Tchaikovsky's Waltz of the Flowers as OST!
