I think initially you would be fine with a lightweight but eventually you will go into listening to more complex cardiac sounds (I’m assuming, I’m not a doctor!). I don’t know what year you do that but the lightweight is perfect for manual blood pressures, lung sounds, bowel sounds and it is cheap!! 😊
Could I switch out the light weight chest piece for the classic lll chest piece?.. I like the color options for the lightweight better but I want sound quality of the classic lll.
So I just tried to switch the chestpieces of the Littmann Classic III and the Littmann Lighweight and it does work. The Classic III chestpiece does fit into the Lightweight tubing however I'm not sure what impact switching them out has on the acoustics as they're not made to be changeable. Also you would have to buy two stethoscopes! But the short answer to your question is yes, it can be done. I might take it to work and see what the acoustics are like with the changed chestpiece for future reference. Thank you so much for watching Brittany :) I hope that helps! Jenny
The serial number on the chest piece is needed to register your warranty as per the Littmann website. Could it be that your stethoscope is not an authentic Littmann? I would check with the seller where you bought it from to make sure.
@@NurseJenny Wow... it's been 3 years... that was when I just started getting into healthcare and the classic 3 is still holding up well! Thanks for the reply heheh
Thank you for giving such a detailed comparison!
You’re welcome Devon! Thank you so much for watching 🙏☺️😃🌷

Docprepper Great choice and a great stethoscope!!! 🤩😍 Good luck in your nursing studies 🥰
I went with the classic 3 as well. I got the black and rainbow finish one.

How could I register littmann lightweight stethoscope for warranty, if there is no serial no. On chest piece?
Please help.

Omggg i wish i could have one of them 😍😍😍😍
Excellent Video...thanks so much
You are so welcome, thanks for watching!
Would you recommend light weight to a student nurse?
Charles Vergel Marcera Yes I would. I think it’s a great choice for a student Nurse 😊
@@NurseJenny thank you Nurse. 😊
Absolutely
Thank yoo for this video.i almost buying the lightweight they should donate rhis to nursing students 😭 but thank you so much ...
Which should I get if it's only a $20 difference
I’d probably get the Classic III. It’s got a stainless steel chest piece and will last you longer 👍
I decided to get the classic (I probably don't actually need it but I do like the 5 year warranty)
I think that’s a good choice! 👍😁
