Ive used this method to germinate many different types of fruit seeds after watching my great grandmother do it throughout my childhood. You are the first person I've seen doing this besides her. Great video. Thanks

I've been trying to grow lemons several times by my methods (put it in the soil and let it be) and it didn't work. I tried this and now i have healthy lemon plants. Thank you!
I don't know if my comment will be appreciated but here it goes. In the mid 60's my mother grew a lemon seed in a pot of soil, with no problem,. It eventually grew to about 5 feet in height and had been upgraded in several pots as it grew. It was healthy, but it had one problem ... it dripped a gummy substance which eventually caused my mother to want to find it a new home. Since lemon trees are warm weather trees, it would not have survived being planted outside so the only way for it to survive was to find it another home. I did the adoption and I found a very nice couple with a green house that wanted it. Be careful with growing citrus plants, they may have the same problem. On the other hand, she also started a peach from a peach she ate and also potted it and it grew until it was big enough to plant in our garden. And it gave HUGE PEACHES every year.

So during the this times on my quarantine. I’ve germinated Lemons and I am excited to grow and fruit it! Also bell peppers, habanero peppers and avocados! Amazing! For sure in the next pandemic, In which they are saying in another 20 years or so. I am ready 😂
Thanks young man I love the video and to think thats why my seeds never worked, but now I'm so happy for you to have shown me the greatest way to start. GOD bless you always.
I tried the experiment by leaving 1) two seeds with the outer covering, 2) two I removed all of the outer covering, 3) two I removed half of the covering and 4) two I removed 1/4 of the covering. Number three and number four: all four seed germinated on day 5. The number one both germinated on day ten and strangely enough number two, only one germinated on day ten. I potted all of them on the day I removed the coverings and planted them in identical pots with identical potting mix. (Each one of the same type shared one pot.) I put them on top of a heating pad for seedlings, inside a tray with a plastic cover. My theory is that the partial covering protected the seeds, same as the one with the intact covering, but that one took longer because the seeds had to break the covering. The first four already look like tiny little trees on day 15.
Here's a new update as of today. The ones that I removed all the covering are now both the shortest (1/2") and the tallest (3 1/2"). The ones that I removed none of the covering are 1 1/2 and 2 1/2 inches, exactly the same as the ones that I removed 1/2 of the covering, but the smallest of the two that I did not remove the covering had a bit of damage in two of its leaves, probably trying to break the cover. The ones I removed 1/4 of the cover are 3 and 2 1/2 inch tall (The best results are these last ones, since the smallest of the two has 5 leaves already and the rest either 2 or 3.)
New update, the little trees that are looking the nicest are the ones where I only removed part of the skin. The others are fine but not as nice. Not including the last one to show up, from the set where I removed all the skin, it's not growing but it does have two tiny leaves finally. They all get the same care. The rest are now from 3"-5" tall. I'm planning on transplanting them to individual pots and start to feed them. In other words, you don't need to remove all the skin, just enough to make it easier for the baby to break through.

Update after a week. The ones that were peeled sprouted, most of the ones that weren't ,rot. I'll say that's a success. I was looking into the soil I need, I guess soil for flowers is as good as any😊 I'll be growing strawberries too 😍

Bought a bunch of strawberries and used a hairpin to get seeds off of it. I recommend that you freeze seeds or put them in a fridge (I think that will suffice) before planting them. Thanks for this! We are leaving a rental property that has an amazing lemon tree that is heavy with huge sweet lemons every 3 months and I’ve been looking everywhere for this information since most sources say not to bother. No harm in trying.
If you have access to the mother tree, you can make a clone of it, by taking a few branches, and then have a fruiting tree faster, and it will be an exact replica, that the seed might not produce the same fruit, because citrus doesn't grow true to seed. But if ypu don't mind waiting for the fruit, this is great too 😄
I don’t trust anyone who cuts fruit with a steak knife. “Don’t cut the seeds in half”- Cuts the seeds in half “Spray them once or twice” sprays them 9 times.
I started one about three years ago. Today it is over 5 foot tall. Still no lemons yet, but getting there. Also started a couple lime trees to go with it, they are only 6 months old so long way to go. Thanks for the videos. Going to try the pineapples next!

It works just the way you instructed. I had roots growing after 5 days. I am so excited it grows so fast after peeling the seeds . Thank you for sharing this . 😊😊😊😊😊
It really works thank you
My lemon seed germinated after 9 days😍
hey just a heads up, the glass cutting board is probably contributing to your knifes getting dull
Hate glass cutting boards, set my teeth on edge and ruin your knives
& I was wondering what dolls my knives all the time! Thanks for the info
Thank you very much. I will try. If some of the people have nothing nice to say why do you even come here?
I planted 3 lemon trees from seeds. After 6 years I am still waiting for lemons to appear, although they are big and healthy. A farmer told me they now need to be grafted, which I can not do. So I feel I wasted my time. A while ago I just bought a lemon tree and it has lovely lemons.
Some regions the weather does not permit them to growing fruit.
@@renetaylor1186 Becose lenon needs grafting. You can make a plany from a seed but this is the wild lemon. You better reed some books before to watch this videos ;) I am agronomist trust me
Ruth Nisley there is always negative comments on you tube. I agree with you.
No trichinosis, nolistria, then you're ready to sell their ever lemonade, I only want €.10 of the top.😄
This guy has never cut a lemon in his life before this day!
I thought that too. How difficult is it cut a lemon, ha ha
I tried this method to grow lemon seeds and it's successful. Thanks.
I rooted the seeds following your advice. Just got them planted. Let’s see how it goes.
Thanks bro i got the help from your video and 12 seeds geminated out of 14 that's pretty good
Thanks! My lemon is now around 15cm high, after 1-2 months
My lemon sprouted super tall, thanks so much
Thanks for this!
But if ypu don't mind waiting for the fruit, this is great too 😄
So happy I found your video . Was wonder why my seeds was taking so long to grow. 🤗
I don’t trust anyone who cuts fruit with a steak knife.
“Don’t cut the seeds in half”- Cuts the seeds in half
“Spray them once or twice” sprays them 9 times.
Bishop White buahahahhahahahah
Have you got an update on what these look like now? Would be great to see the results so far!

I started one about three years ago. Today it is over 5 foot tall. Still no lemons yet, but getting there. Also started a couple lime trees to go with it, they are only 6 months old so long way to go. Thanks for the videos. Going to try the pineapples next!
How big do they get cause I’m not sure where to put it when it grows
I seen this video years ago, my trees are 13-15 feet tall now :-) Thanks for the advise on peeling the seed. It drastically speeds up the germination .
How about not cutting, but peeling the lemon so you don't damage any seeds?
That is what I have done!!! The lemon can be sectioned
Hifaz Ahmed
or just have a lemon jus and keep the seeds
B.ernadette Bailey
yeap, it works very well. i tried it. got a bunch of seeds. soak them in water and i have several plants in a pot - distinct hights. from last winter. they grow slowly... and it all started with showing my daughter how plants sprout from seeds. :))
You could just sliced in half horizontally and squeezed it out like everyone does. Simple and easy, less possible damage to seeds
Why I’m i watching this i already have a lemon tree
LMAO!!!!
Only 1 Fanny?
then get the fuck out of here you idiot.
Soap same

Your knife technique needs to be stronger, that lemon was giving you too much trouble.

I planted about a dozen Calamondron seeds straight from the fruit. After a month I gave up on them. Then around the two month mark I noticed a couple had sprouted. Good thing I didn't throw them away. This must be why he peeled the seeds?
I'll try this w a lime seed.
I tried and it works
Will the tree produce fruit?
Velia Thomas If you take care of it properly yes
