Thanks a lot Dr Nosa for this. Your videos are always very enlightening and helpful. Hopefully I can come back after passing my PLAB 2 to give a shout.
Thank you so much! This video was very helpful! And I was just wondering that having a youtube channel helped you with the communication part of the exam! Keep it up!
Thank you Dr Nosa i cant fully express how helpful this is!!! Am an IMG on my plab journey and would like to ask if the 5 wk preparation with the resources mentioned was before your samson course or after
Thanks Gabriela! FY1>FY2> ST1 paediatrics to ST8 so that’s a total of about 10 years after medical school before you become a paediatrics consultant. Hope that helps!
Hello, Doc. I find your videos immensely helpful. I want to know, do they (the examiners) strictly take your spoken english into account, while examining you in PLAB 2 ?
Thanks a lot! Your English is not being asssesed, the most important thing is the patient understands what you’re saying which is why in one of the stations were they ask you to explain a procedure to a patient, asking the patient to kindly run through what you’ve just told them is a good way to assess understanding. Good luck!
Doc, good day. I have a few questions: 1. Kindly explain the “eligibility application” for FY1 2. Do we need to have passed PLAB 1& 2 before applying for FY1? (I’m asking this because I’m expected to graduate by the end of this year & I want to know if it’s possible to apply this August for the 2022 program) 3. I read the English proficiency eligibility for FY1 & one of them states that I am exempted from IELTS if my institution’s name is not on the GMC’s list of unrecognized universities to teach in English. Kindly confirm this 4. For FY1, we need to provide “Evidence of your right to work in the UK (sponsorship can be arranged for those who are unable to provide evidence of their right to work).”, what is meant by this?
You’re welcome! Hmm, it’s really difficult to quantify cause it really depends on your individual circumstances for example if you have accommodation to stay in when you come to the U.K. or not.
Hi Dr Nosa this is extremely helpful! really glad you took your time to explain this .I am an IMG on my plab journey and would like to ask if your 5 wk preparation was before you attended your course or after the course
Thank you Dr Nosa for these self explanatory videos you have put together for us. I'm about taking PLAB 2 exams, hopefully after the lock-down is completely eased, but are you saying that with continuous and persistent practical (applying these things at work with real life patients), self studying for about 5 weeks, like you did, and use of geekymedic videos and other helpful videos over again, there might not be need to attend those academies with their (at least to save some extra pounds which we don't have. lol)? Or did you have to attend academy still?
You’re welcome! Thanks.....You don’t have to attend but honestly I think it’s helpful to! Even if it’s just to pay for the mock exams which I know Samson offers, you can save by just paying for the mock exams instead of the whole course. That’s what I recommend 😀
Hello Dr. Nosa, I know you mentioned you took plab 1 in November and plab 2 in March the next year. Did you have any issues getting your desired date for plab 2? What was your experience? I have heard it stays booked up for months and I am just wondering how to plan especially since we don't have access to register for plab 2 until after passing plab 1. Thanks for sharing. God bless.
Anne O hello Anne! The dates are usually booked up months in advance but also I found it quite easy to find a date cause people cancel all the time, you would just have to be checking often XX
What to do if my medical school is not listed on the website of world directory of medical school so what are the step to make my PMQ verified by GMC Please make a video on that topic What are the steps , document required M from INDIA
Hello Dr Nosa please I wanted to ask if it’s true that even after passing both plab 1&2 it’s still difficult for an international student to get a job especially if you have not had any clinical hospital training in a hospital after you graduate medical school?... thank you so much Ps. Your videos really help and encourage me a lot
sliver some thanks a lot silver! Glad to know my videos are helpful. It’s very difficult to get a job in the U.K. if you have not done 1 year internship. Once you’ve done 1 year internship in your home country, trust me, you’ll have endless job opportunities here 😀

I’m sorry but I don’t know because I did not do IELTS.
@@DoctorNosa Overall band score of 7.5 and at least 7 across the 4 domains.

How long did it take for your PLAB 2 results take to come out? And after that how long did it take for GMC registration?
2 weeks if i I remember correctly, GMC registration took about 2 weeks after that as well I think.
Doctor Nosa thank you so much for your response ❤️
