This book was a great resource for ideas, practical advice ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx-b91_bYU48sOwHX-XC49tRRXRxcnOmZm and pro tips I purchased the plans for the 10'x16' colonial and used them for the basics and made my own modifications. I built my shed for storage and lawn equipment, but decided to sheath and side it in case I ever wanted to add insulation and turn it into a shop or bunkhouse. I poured over this book all winter while I planned and found it to be the all-around best shed book out there.
I'm getting unable to live alone because of health reasons so I'm looking for ways for my son in law to redo their shed for me to live in & I love this one so much ! This is absolutely lovely & has all the room that i need !
Have a 10 by 16 have just started on making it in to my home have most of my solar thank you lord getting insulation this week it’s slow going I am 68 and am trying to do it by myself one step at a time
Thank you so much for posting this I just purchased me a 10 by 20 lofted cabin to be delivered in 4 weeks and I really had no idea how I was going to design it but now I do thank you so much!!
If it's just 1 person these types of homes work great. I'd like to maybe one day get me 2 or 3 of those, put them together and make me a really nice house. And far cheaper than a regular house and it will be built with my 2 hands. Good stuff

Hello. It’s only a small starter system that operates lighting. The actual system in use now is a larger grape solar panel, 30 amp Morningstar charge controller and golf cart batteries. Probably 300 dollars in the whole thing. Runs lights and small electronics.
Very nice. Thank you for the video and ideas. Can I ask what the dementions are for the whole place in each area. That way I can get a better sense of the layout overall. Thank you and have a great day.
This is very nice! I was wondering, could you provide details on the solar system you have in place, such as company and cost, etc? I'm looking to put solar on my cabin in the near future. Thanks! :) And great job on the build!
I could be wrong but it looks like 100w panel. They install DIY. Just research typical RV or solar projects and you’ll find lots of diagrams. You start by making a list of all the things you want to run. Then their amps and watts. And then pick your system based on that and how long you want it to run.

could u please if its not too much trouble tell us a little about how much the bathroom set up cost as far as water heater and if u connected to electric and water on grid and did u do most of the work urself....i would have done a few things different but what u did was perfect i would want to add a loft and found a place in wv where im from where i can get a 10x20 loft type cabin for like 4000k but i need to connect electric and water and buy a few fixtures plus insulation dry wall etc...this is the time i wish i was so much more handy to save 1000;s on the finishes...also i saw the solar but could u tell me what breaker box amp/watt would suffice for the basics 4 wall sockets microwave, tv, mini refrig laptop etc basic things like that couple of light fixtures (3)? thank you any info will help
Really didn’t break down what each area cost. But I’d guess 1000 on bathroom. Water heater electric just enough to take about 5 minute shower. The solar has been upgraded but does not operate entire unit. Just lights and chargers. I sleep in adjacent RV so bedroom wasn’t necessary for my use.
I would put shower on the opposite side then the toilet where sink is and eliminate the sink. I would make a kitchen with a counter and sink with the space allowed.
How did you get the drain piping from your water underneath the cabin? Did you have to lift it at all? I have a shed I’m converting but there is only a couple inches of clearance from the floor to the ground.
My husband and I are currently doing the same thing and we wanted to know if you used the same paneling for the walls on the ceiling? If not what did you use?
Great job but my aim would be to be off grid. Is the gas, electric, water, internet, Sky tv etc all free? No monthly standing orders etc. But I could quite happily live in your fine cabin. We really don't need all the space we have or the junk we fill it with!
interesting points ,if anyone else trying to find out backyard storage sheds plans try *WoodBlueprints. Com* Ive heard some decent things about it and my colleague got cool success with it.
I won't be able to pull it off in the next couple years but I swear to myself and have for years now that one day , one day I will build my vision of to me what would be my perfect two story shed house, hoping when it happens to have the funds to by a size of roughly 14-16' wide by 28-34' long and have a 4 sided barn style full height second story which I'm pretty sure I could fit a humble bedroom with a decent size walk In closet and queen size bed and still have the room prob to build a very small office/library that also had like a fold down comfortable cot style wall mounted guest bed, and as many windows and storage areas as possible because what I would imagine the hardest part of living in a shed house would likely be insufficient storage for belongings , clothes , and random stuff
I have this same shed but it's 12x32 26 feet inside and a 6 ft porch on the front i have no idea how i should do the floor plan can u give me some better ideas on how to do the bathroom and kitchen an bedroom an living room
I'm building fish house camper and making ceiling one foot taller and adding cupboards on ceiling. Adds lots of storage losing no floor space. Also adds some degree of insulation.
Volkswagenplanet it’s probably enough for his TV and occasional use of micro. It’s 12v I run a cabin with 1200w and eight batteries at 24v. It depends on what you calculate for your dream usage.
@@blairbushproject always thought about doing it. I live in Fl. Can't get much better than that for sun. I would run a/c, tv, and the norm. Thanks for commenting.
Volkswagenplanet well AC and appliances you have to start at 48v study resources. You would need panels plural. And probably the sizing would depend on your sun calculations hours per day and amps per hour. And mounting angles. How much sun would they have access to. So you would either be grid tied. Which would mean you would use any electricity you wanted. But your panels would feed back into the grid with island protection of course haha. But one panel is probably a TV for a few hours like he has. Probably the occasional microwave. Maybe his laptop phone. If his battery is lithium.

Very nice tiny home.
I would hang the microwave on the wall and make a draw under the table for knifes, spoons and forks, nice shed
That design is considered a cabin to tiny house
But I must say an awesome built 👍

For a bed use a Murphy bed that goes back up.

Nice! Love the Music 💗
What is the best material for building a shed?
What size and brand of solar panel did you use?
I would put shower on the opposite side then the toilet where sink is and eliminate the sink. I would make a kitchen with a counter and sink with the space allowed.
How did you get the drain piping from your water underneath the cabin? Did you have to lift it at all? I have a shed I’m converting but there is only a couple inches of clearance from the floor to the ground.
All the water lines are running along the inside wall and the sink and shower drain into a 2 inch pipe through the floor and out.no toilet.
My husband and I are currently doing the same thing and we wanted to know if you used the same paneling for the walls on the ceiling? If not what did you use?
No the ceiling is a fake wood pattern on a thinner sheet so I could bend it as I nailed to form the contour of the ceiling.
The material shown laying out is on the ceiling
This is my first attempt. In process of adding on to it. Will probably post progress at a later date.
Great job. Loft maybe or jackknife couch with drawers below. Cute
Brilliant use of the space, just sleep on the floor saves even more room.
I have to take my hat off to you. That was great
Maybe I’ll just give up and live in one of these on a friends property until I pass away
Can you tell
Me how big it is ?
If you're thinking platform bed overhead ... Don't. You'll be kissing the ceiling.
Dude, this is soooo cool! How much did this cost?
What's the info on the solar panel? Does it power the whole building and what solar panel is it
The solar has been redone. One 100watt panel 2 deep cycle batteries. No does not operate entire unit.. yet
Sorry meant what size is the bathroom?
How did you get around square footage laws and not putting in a concrete foundation.
as a day cabin off grid,,u see that 50 watt solar?,,NOT hooked up to the Electric company,,
Don’t have that issue where I live
Awesome job!

Well all dishes and utensils are disposable and anything else is rinsed off in the bathroom sink. Primitive I know but it’s working.
