- Lely Sphere is a circular manure-handling system for separating mineral streams and creating value from emissions. The system separates manure and urine and converts nitrogen emissions into valuable fertilisers. You can use these for precision fertilisation. Might be a more expensive upfront outlay but this is where people need to start looking further ahead. It actually might be much cheaper in the long run

Interesting (& as has been said) I suspect quite expensive. With looming new regulations around ammonia from livestock I reckon it’s only a matter of time around Europe before this type of system will be mandatory on bigger farms.

With the current market prices, it'll be tough to get farmers to invest in this.
Very innovative though.
We take prices we were getting 30 years ago. Every year dairy consumption rises worldwide but the price farmers get paid remains static. And all imputes rises wether it’s machinery costs feed fertiliser or whatever else. Dairy farming is in debt to the neck and it seems it’s just business as usual.
I'm in the Dakota's and dairy is booming here. Wouldn't be real hard to sell it out here.
In Germanny you are basically forced to do so soon. In most places you wont get a building permit if it means higher emissions, so you use this technology in your old barns and in the new one so youll have more cows but the same amount of emissions.

Which program did you use for this animation?
Everybody is talking about that it's expencive, but why should it be? It's a ventilation system with an acid resistend air washer. The Tank could be a regualar fibreglastank and the cleaning robot inside is just a big cleaning robot. The question is how high is the acid concentration and can it be safely operated and I guess it can, otherwise they wouldn't offer this product. Maybe in combination with a seperation system it can be even more effective
Beautiful animation! Also curious on economic aspects, with additional costs and benefits and possible revenues related to it. Can this in principle also be realized in an existing barn with a manure storage underneath?
Where the Sulfuric acid (H₂SO₄) and/or Nitric acid (HNO₃) are coming from? Externally obtained from outside the farm? It is called a circular manure-handling system for separating mineral streams and creating value from emissions. What exactly adds on circularity, because also additional nutrient containing chemicals are required for the system by externally adding Sulfuric acid and/or Nitric acid HNO₃. In return though, it can and will generate extra nutrients, which can replace or reduce the fertiliser that normally is added and spread, like ammonia - nitrate. Other possible advantage could be that different valuable fertilisers are produced and available, allowing for more precision fertilisation. This may require additional equipment for application?
That's the problem none of this is new tech and farmers are very willing to do these kinds of things but it's not economical.

Nitric Acid is vicious stuff and really only suitable for a lab IMO, I would not want it near a farm.
Looks to be a sound basis, but I can't see it being viable unless there are some strong numbers involved along with a heavy government subsidy.
What percentage of nitrogen in liquid fertilizer mix?

dann lieber doch einen kompoststall, denn was weniger kostet, muss man nicht wieder verdienen. würde die milch das doppelte kosten, könnte man sich so einen luxus leisten.
Kompoststall ist eine hygienische Katastrophe ganz zu schweigen vom fehlenden Tierwohl durch die schlechte Luft und im Sommer die Hitze von unten und den enormen Massen an Stickstoff der ausdampft. Warum nicht einfach einen normalen Stall bauen?

Bevor sowas Verwendung findet ist die Landwirtschaft in Deutschland abgeschafft.
Aber keine Angst, Landwirtschaft und Ernährung werden für die Menschheit immer notwendig sein. Müssen sicherlich auch auf regionaler Ebene in kurzen Ketten produziert werden. Natürlich mit möglichst geringen Umwelt- und Naturauswirkungen. Neue Anbau- und Landwirtschaftskonzepte sowie technologischer Fortschritt werden weiterhin notwendig sein. 🚜🙂

Hier gibt es bis dahin keine Landwirtschaft mehr, da a) die politischen Rahmenbedingungen ein Witz sind b) es keine Person mehr macht, weil gesellschaftlich immer mehr angefeindet aufgrund der grünen Spinneridiologie c) Innovative Verfahren in Deutschland zu hohe Risiken sind d) die Erlöse viel zu gering sind - und zwar seit 20 Jahren.
Deutschland schafft sich ab, wir kaufen lieber im Ausland.

Danke, das tut mir leid. Ich dachte, dass es mit niedrigeren Grundstückspreisen und gutem Land und guter Technologie in Deutschland möglich ist, ein angemessenes Einkommen zu erzielen.
Bieten die angekündigten „Green Deals“ der EU noch Erleichterung?
@@corgraveland4874 niedrige Grundstückspreise? in den 90ern kostete ein Quadratmeter Acker hier noch eine Mark, jetzt sind es schon 6-10 € und das ohne jemals eine aussicht auf Bebaungsabsichten, reine Landwirtschaftsfläche. Keine Ahnung, wo Sie wohnen und in welcher Lotterie Sie gewonnen haben aber für einen nornalen Landwirt in Deutschland dauert es mindestens 2 Generationen bis sich ein Flächenkauf amortisiert. Der Green Deal könnte Chancen bieten, wenn sich die EU vom Weltmarkt abschottet. Tut sie dies nicht, wird nur die hiesige Landwirtschaft daran zugrunde gehen.

Ja, in den Niederlanden müssen wir uns auch mit solch hohen Landpreisen nur für die Landwirtschaft auseinandersetzen.
Aber ja, das ist eine enorme Preiserhöhung seit 90ern. Ein Freund wanderte in den 1990er Jahren nach Osten des Deutschland aus und begann mit den niedrigen (Miet-) Preisen. Konnte bald zusätzliches Land kaufen und wurde in kurzer Zeit reich. Aber in der Tat, wenn Sie jetzt noch Land kaufen müssen, ist es sehr teuer und es dauert Generationen, um etwas damit zu verdienen.

Your sheds would end up being filthy. Have you not seen the amount of shit cows make, especially on a milking diet. That robot would be going non stop and would break down every other day, id imagine theyre not cheap to run either. Whats wrong with a weeping wall, separators or diegestors? I can tell you now that 95% of farmers in Ireland wont even consider that system, even if there was a grant for it
