@@nursesteve2004it actually continued a little while longer. Last Confederate forces to surrender to the Union were in the Oklahoma territory, ironically they were pro-Confederate Native American units from the “civilized tribes”.
The fact is, that General Lee was able to ride into his men AFTER the disaster! Greatest Respect
