I've been to about 9 or 10 buffets in Las Vegas trying to find a buffet as good as the Medley buffet at the Okada Casino in Manila. My journey brings me to the Rio Carnival Seafood buffet in hopes of a dining experience similar to that of the Medley buffet. Can Rio's buffet surpass the Medley buffet? I intend to find out...

I’m not a fan of buffets due to the sketchy cleanliness of the patrons. Tim really didn’t just go rooting through the entire tray though. He touched one spring roll, he plated the one spring roll. You guys are reaching deep for the negatives.

another oldie near the very start...that's a huge buffet i'll have to go watch the Medley buffet one mentioned after this...man that was a huge good looking desert area. Thought it was funny to see your viewpoint on deserts then to now...deserts are good eat them all

Bread fills you up so does rice as well as salad. If you fill up on the cheap stuff you have no room for the seafood and more expensive stuff.

The Rio buffet, that brings back memories of the 90’s for me .
It was very good back in the 90s
So with the ticket you give to the chef, you can only visit the lobster station once?
Yeah, that was one of the draw backs... You can go to the seafood section as much as you want (which they have a good variety), but the lobsters where restricted by either 1 whole lobster or 5 lobster tail-halfs (the lobster tails where split in half and you only get 5 pieces). Still okay in my book as they have many good seafood offerings -- though if you get a chance, the Aria would definitely be one to visit.

Thank you for all the Buffet videos. I have also been to so many Buffets. Unlike you I like the carbs but that's why I am so big haha I think comparing the Okada and Carnival buffets are really more about your preference. Okada is amazing for seafood and Asian foods and of course desserts where Carnival is more for westerner foods. I prefer Carnival because of the many choices I grew up with and the unhealthy choices. I don't really like seafood so much. When you are on vacation you should eat what makes you happy then you need to work hard when you get home. But again thank you for the buffet videos and now I am hungry I will go eat.
Thanks for your comment! I really like the grandeur of a buffet 🙂 and am hard pressed to find buffets this over the top outside of Vegas. Totally agree on making the most out of the vacation and indulging 😋 and planning to go back to Vegas soon. Would be interested to find out about your favorite ones out of the many that you've tried.

Thanks Raul! I'm actually in Canada on the West Coast. Love the Philippines and I had a chance to work their for a few months and made lots of friends there.. I actually started doing these food videos when I was in Vegas by myself for a conference. Had some free time on the weekend and decided to visit as many buffets as I could (ended up going to 6 buffets on the Saturday :-)). The videos were more for fun on my part and am really getting into this hobby as it's a great chance to meet and connect with people here!
I haven't been to the east coast but must give Atlantic City a try -- thank you for the suggestions and hopefully Atlantic City Casinos and New Jersey Diners are a little easier on the wallet as the Vegas buffets :-) Much appreciated!!!
try Sterling Buffet @ Bally`s ...$100 will buy you ALL no limit lobster or any seafood you can eat and bubbly drink
Hi Frank, thanks for taking the time to reach out and thank you for the suggestion. I actually did managed to give the Sterling Buffet a try. How right you are! It was pricey but certainly worth it as it was an experience that one doesn't forget :-) Have you find one that rivals the Sterling Brunch yet?
Lesser crowd as compared to okada Manila. Plus you appear more relaxed and composed here, great difference detected in monetary terms. Perhaps not to compare after all.

Ismael The Emperor this was one of the more expensive ones. The weekend buffet with the seafood add-on (with the lobster) was around $50. Without the seafood add-on was around $35. Have you tried many buffets in Vegas? The Aria is quite good and good value too!
Thank you mate. I have tried a few, Aria, Bacchanal, Paris Las Vegas, Mirage etc and Aria is the best. I have always hesitated to try Rio's and I am sureprise to see that Rio's carnival buffet has quality stuff too and will definitly go there next time. Your video was fantastic and I can see that you chose your prime rib well and don't want the dry part. The lobster looks nice and without the lobster at $35 I will be happy too with a huge variety of seafood. Fantastic buffet

Looks like a mile-long walk to get your food. I’d be tired by the time I get all I food and there’s a limit of the time ( lady checks your wrist for time) and the number of lobsters to get . A NO from me for this buffet!
He really did not seem too enthused by this buffet. Seemed like a bit of letdown.

Cari Lynn, everything is quite pricey on the strip or major casinos. I think it was in the $60s with the seafood/lobster option. Are you heading to Vegas anytime soon? I've never tried but heard great things about the Studio B buffet. Might be worthwhile to check it out

It's one of the pricier buffets... The weekend dinner I went to was $34.99 plus another $20 for the seafood upgrade. So in total, $54.99. I would suggest the buffet at the Bellagio as well.

Hi Susan, I went back recently and they completely changed the buffet...no more lobster and limited seafood, but they dropped the price to around $30ish so a relatively good value.

That's an unfair comparison since the best food and variety of food is best found in the Philippines.
The best lesson I ever had was when I went to a buffet in Las Vegas and so a large group of Asians filling up on food differently from what Westerners ate. I asked why they didn't try some of the Western style items? They said they spent a lot of money to come to Las Vegas and they were going to eat the best food. They ate fresh vegetables, fruits, and meat mainly beef. The young daughter later told me those food items are very expensive in Japan.
In the end I noticed they ate more than me and the most expensive foods. My waitress said Asians are the most knowledgeable buffet eaters and tend to eat the most expensive items with is not so obvious to Westerners.

Vegas buffet offer more variety, larger serving and better taste than Okada. Fortunately, Vegas buffet don't serve Filipino food! lol
It was quite fun to compare different buffets :-) Yes, that's the one thing the Vegas buffets are missing -- having some great Filipino food would be amazing! Which buffets have you visited or would recommend? Always like to find new places to try.
