I can absolutely see the sims teams that worked on the builds and townies hearing you suggest stuff like having the landgraabs own all the apartments builds that aren’t owned by pack townies and going “shit why didn’t we think of that?” 😂
tbf it could have been quite hard bc i don’t know if you can programme that with premade sims already in the game or if they’d physically have to go in and change it. bc if you wanna own a place, you have to buy the regular residentials that we all know when nobody is living in it but i stand by the fact it would have been hilarious
I don't think so. Almost everyone made that joke at some point. I don't think that they wanted to make everything be owned by white people 'cause it would stink of colonialism.

@@EnglishSimmer Yeah, I think you couldn't connect it up reliably - like imagine adding For Rent to your game, then opening a save where you'd deleted the Landgraabs, or were actively playing them
As I'm a Thai language user, I'm so happy that you tried your best to check the pronunciation. There are many words that I am not sure what is the origin language, but Thai words that I can recognize, I think you read really well in almost all of them.
I was especially amazed when you said: "Chee-wit Chee-waa" (ชีวิตชีวา=Lively) at 7:38 perfectly, even the tone of the pronunciation was correct.
The only word that in the Thai language may be pronounced differently from general is the name "Kasem" in 13:42. While the name looks like an Arabic name, if it's Thai, it might be from the name "เกษม". Sem in Thai sounds more like the word "same". (You may copy เกษม and check the sound from the translation app)
Thanks for the overviews about lots and townies so much detail. It's enjoyable knowing them earlier before the pack comes out. Not many channel that shows every lot and townies without skipping. I watched your overview like this since Growing Together but I commented the first time because of the Thai language. Great Job!

EA basically tried to combine the entire southeast Asian culture into one world. Not bad tbh, you got Thai city and island names but the lore is more tied to Balinese. While on the pier you do see some Filipino style boats. And at the night market you do see some NPC selling Burmese foods.
I dooooo quite like the setup of the empty unit surrounded by units rented by the same family, if only because I think that's a fantastic setup for a cute storyline of playing as Thi's across-the-hall neighbour, and trying to navigate a romance whilst her entire family is hanging around and poking their noses in. Like... Jane Austen by way of Tomarang.

During the Pandemic I lived in a basement apartment with no oven or fridge. I had to buy a mini fridge and later a air fryer. I used slow cooker and Toaster oven to cook.

I love the townie families in Tomarang! When I played Sims 2, I immediately evicted and deleted all the townies because I was eager to play with my own characters and stories. It wasn’t until Sims 4 and the pandemic that I discovered sims content creators on UA-cam and realized I’m actually fond of the official lore. Sure, I have my own take on certain families, but I enjoy being part of a “fandom” now. Happy Pandemic discovery. Thanks for the great video, Molly
The world is beautiful, I’m cool with the lot sizes but do wish there was 1 or 2 more of them. I love the swimming and fishing possibilities. Best of all, the name of the lounge. The Screaming Gecko is hilarious!! Thank you Molly ❤❤
The Night Market Arch ways reminds me of the one in Seattle Wa at the Pike Place.
I like that they thought to include the lot challenge for regular homes too. I like having challenges on my lots as that is the type of gameplay that keeps me wanting to play TS4.
yeah i mean home ownership is not easy so it feels way more realistic! i played with it a bit but didn’t actually experience the events so i feel like it doesn’t happen quite as frequently as the cursed lot traits from city living so i feel like it’s actually an accurate way of getting that sort of gameplay!

LOL, it's not the case of "not having enough money to buy an oven"😂. Ovens just aren't used in the Southeast Asia and if they have one in their apartments, they end up using it for storage. I'm sure that there are some exceptions but I've never met anyone from this region who was using an oven on a daily basis.
oh thank you for pointing that out i appreciate it! sorry for the ignorance. i just figured with her story she was kinda thrown into being property manager without any experience or planning aspects but that makes sense bc i was using the pressure cooker way more than the actual oven as it was less time consuming (but the lot i was referring to doesn’t have a pressure cooker either from the get go, just kettle and microwave just as a heads up). lack of amenities also has an effect on ratings so i’m hoping that even if you choose not to have an oven but have a pressure cooker instead that does count as the needed appliances

I guess it could seem that way in the context, I just happen to know a lot of people from that region and they always joke about that - especially to me because I use mine often. I think that they've mentioned in the stream that they didn't add a ton of appliances on purpose to not influence the gameplay of each player.
This makes so much sense now I think about it! In New England, we wouldn’t use the oven in hot weather. I always think about this when my sims are preparing food in the warmer seasons or locales - so glad there are more appliances for cooking in these situations. Would love to see more options for warm weather food - love a good cold salad bowl with grains and veggies 😋

I saw the same issue in the deep dive with the walls in this new ep with cutaway view that was broken in the high school pre patch, spikes walls, can see into the next apartment but just empty same for apartments in Eco life and City Living after that patch. Why is this issue ignored for over a year and now in this new ep. Unbelievable!

I'm more interested in playing as a tenant rather than the landlord and am wondering if I can move other sims in to the neighbouing apartments, then mark them as unplayed so appartments are populated with my own sims to interact with?

Two of the houses that were shown on the trailer Ro Kaya Rockslide and the tall pink townhouse don't appear to be already in game. Are these lots given with the pack when you search your library under Maxi, that come with this pack like other packs have had, like Cat&Dogs, Dine Out, Spa Day... Or do we have for search for that on the Gallery?

You don't need Growing Together to see sentiments, they're base game, so it sounds like they don't have any. Which s sad, and also surprising?? Horse Ranch had some really cool ones, earler ths year. But then I never heard anyne else talking about them, so maybe they fgured it wasn't worth the effort. :/
i muddled my words with family dynamics and not sentiments but TRUE. i forgot they came with base game before snowy escape so yeah deffo none in this for townies
Can’t you buy the unowned building and not evict the tenants? I assume you’d just be taking over from the NPC or invisible landlord. Buildings change owners with people living there IRL at least…
you can!! just when i did this, i did it through the “tutorial” and it weirdly glitched and told me it was a single unit bc i moved into it, rather than me owning the whole thing. but i think i tested it without the tutorial and living there and being the manager worked
okay yeah i double checked, it was the tutorial that got it all messy. you can own that building by either moving into the empty unit and then buying the whole thing in live mode or live on another lot and then buy it so you're not living in it too. pertaining to my "I wish they had just given us a fully empty one" that deffo would have made the tutorial much easier to follow and is why i also mentioned it in this video. It still feels weird with the flow of the game to move in and then instantly take over the property management of a place where two families were already living but i do think they kept that unit empty so that was an option for players. I personally would've also preferred one more fully empty residential rental. I hope that made sense lol
@@EnglishSimmerGotcha, I could see (however misguided it was) them thinking they were helping the player out by giving them the option to buy a place where they didn't have to search for their first tenants. But it sounds like the 'how' wasn't exactly clear. 😅
yeah basically i feel the tutorial REALLY messes with how you visualise stuff bc it seemed even that was getting confused even tho i knew i was doing stuff right from my knowledge of the game before this pack 😂

Is it just me or do the EA made houses actually look good? Almost the same quality as when simmers make them.
Unpopular opinion: i dont want the queer rep if it gets too unrealistic. I dont know how similar my culture is to that in SEA countries, but to me the cultural norms and dynamics feel similar and homey as a turkish queer and in a world so small with so little townies, my priority would not be to add 3+ out and proud lgbt folks because then the immersion is broken. Queer people exist everywhere, yes, but so does discrimination and in a lot of countries people live and die pretending to be cishet or under different names and ways to exist. Enforcing the "nuclear family" stereotype onto them, especially in a pack that explores multigenerational bigger families, feels odd and offputting to me.
But also, the cool quirky aunt stereotype, im okay with because its clearly a self insert of one of the leads that presented the live event and it would be understandable if she wanted to go into her culture's environment again, but with more freedom over what she can do without the pressure, basically what the sims is made for.
we should expect packs to be at least the size of Windenburg or willow creek. I don't care how great it looks, the content is so lacking it's a ripe off. Everything is super expensive right now and setting aside the money to buy this pack only to get 9 lots is an insult to loyal customers.

Rabbithole lots is sheer laziness on EA's part. With a whole team of people working full time on the development of the game, we would expect to see at least some depth to the gameplay, especially when the majority of modders create such amazing content... On their own... In their spare time... for free! Seriously, what do the devs do all day?
I think they were a little busy building complex gameplay features that have never existed in a Sims game before. 👍

they don’t have any lore tho minus their traits really. they don’t have any descriptions or anything
I really think the devs dropped the ball on that “botanical garden” they could have just made an area extremely lush/beautiful & then some planters etc out in the world instead of using an actual lot. 😅
They also should’ve included that board from Growing together so the sims could power walk around the botanical garden, smell the flowers etc.. 🥲
