    My tai chi teacher was a lifelong martial artist and incorporated elements of Chen tai chi, white crane kung fu, Okinawan karate, and ba gua into his Yang style form. One of the major differences in his style was this type of stance (which he called the box), rather than the usual Yang style bow stance. This is an amazing connection, or perhaps just a confluence of recognizing an advantageous posture.

    I am loving seeing the releasing of muay boran books, please keep going. I will be honest though I would prefer if you like an entirely solo training book, not with recreation but old photos or manuals doing moves something like that, something someone could pick up and practice all the movements by himself to develop his form, keep up the good work

      I've recently translated the oldest Muay book ever published that was used by the ministry of education in Thailand to teach Muay in physical education schools, that might be what you are looking for, it's called "Baeprian Muay Thai"

      @@GaawutProductions yes yes that’s actually why I made this comment, just got it. I have a recommendation for a book for you to get. Amir talib, Silat a perspective on the Malay martial art. It’s about $25 and probably one of the best books I’ve ever seen, that is how a solo manual should be constructed you oughtta buy it nd see what I mean

      @@GaawutProductions I lump muay boran, Malay/indo silat, kalari, arnis all together as one since they’ve all influenced each other synchronously highly, I believe you should do the same you’ll find connections to every single one like a spider web in all of them

    I'm always looking for your videos. Why are your muay boran basic skill videos private?

      I'm going to remake them all, however I'm currently finishing writing a book, a comprehensive guide to Muay Boran that is going to shed light on the art and has information from Thailand never translated before.
      The old ones are private because are extremely outdated 🙏

    A weapon stance

      @GaawutProductions  Рік тому +2

      Yes, this is also used in Krabi Krabong, the foundation was the same for armed and unharmed fighting so that they could master both quickly, and training one would benefit the other.

      @@GaawutProductions i saw silat and arnis they did the same thing in the past. Using much in blade and short stick fighting. That's why i see the similarity of all kinds of it.

    why stupid mask...something wrong:(

    • @GaawutProductions
      @GaawutProductions  7 місяців тому +4

      That's inspired by the masks of the Thai Khon teather, which is profoundly linked to Muay Boran. More precisely, it is inspired by the masks of the human characters, which are not used anymore.

      The course is periodically updated and I'm planning the biggest update yet 🙏
