    Man, thanks for bringing this to my attention! I totally missed this during the pipeline stuff. I've been wanting to go the tote route for a while, but have been stuck between the low quality of Milwaukee's existing soft goods, or going with another brand but not being able to interface it with my packout stuff.
    I'm extremely interested in how this will hold up to professional daily use, because that price is a steep ask if it's going to fall apart in a year or so. I'll probably hold off buying one for a little while and be looking forward to your followup video.

      Yeah, the price increase from the old stuff is going to cause some consternation in buying it I would imagine. That knipex wire stripper has definitely replaced lineman’s for me. Though I am just a DIYer, so take it with a grain of salt. I also don’t use wire nuts anymore because wago lever nuts are just much easier to work with. Especially for installing smart lights, which often have pigtails built in. Anyway, I dunno why people use lineman’s with these modern options. Maybe it's just a "what I'm used to" kind of thing, but I've never really found a need for them.

    Do you currently have the folding Purdy tool? I do, and I have always been looking for a good fixed one to replace it. Do you like the Goldblatt? The Purdy one has one major problem for me, which is that the position of the release for folding it back up is too close to where I am already gripping the tool if I need to put a little bit more effort into something. If you are really scraping hard and holding it with your full grip, it can fold back up again and you have to pay a lot of attention to your grip or else have it pinch you.

Functionally I don't know that it's all that much different.

Did that affect the feel of it?

    The Veto looks obviously smaller to the extent of being too small. I think I’ll go with the Milwaukee.

    • @TinkerWithTools
      @TinkerWithTools  Рік тому

      My tool load out did fit a little bit better in the Milwaukee, but that came down to the individual pockets being slightly larger and therefore accommodating larger tools. But with that said, I do feel it worth mentioning that while Milwaukee has a 10" open top, 15" open top, 15" closed bag and a backpack in these new style of bags, veto has 14 different tools bags that are considered open top alone, all of different sizes. Picking either one will give you a quality bag but there are a lot of options on the Veto side.

      The slightly larger OT by Veto is better. Also the addition of Packout dividers snapped on the bottom adds to the sets utility.

      I think they are just matching Vetos price point to be honest. Some will find it worth it. Others won’t. Luckily they still have the lower price options if you prefer.

    How do you not have the best driver in the world. A Robertson...😅😂

    • @TinkerWithTools
      @TinkerWithTools  10 місяців тому

      Robertson just isn't as common in the US outside of pocket hole screws. I have a bunch of robertson bits and depending on the work, I will definitely have one in my kit... just not part of the standard tool kit since I never run into them otherwise.
      I think robertson (or square drive) is one of the better drive methods. Torx is more common here so most of my screws that I buy are torx becuase of their superior characteristics to phillips.

      @TinkerWithTools from what I have seen they seem a little nice then Milwaukee but I don't have one so I can't say they are any better though I have the 10 inch bag of Milwaukee and it's pretty nice but it's still not worth the $69 it costed

      @TinkerWithTools  Рік тому

      I get that. They came out with a backpack at the same time but if you think the 219 is a bit much the 269 or something they want for that will be overpriced as well.

      @@TinkerWithTools Yes. Milwaukee copied Veto for this bag. So the Veto Pro Pac medium tote is same too heavy.I'm an electrician. I like tougher tool bags, with each tool having its place. And I need to take my tool bag walk around. So the tool bag must be lighter. I have used Veto. It's really heavy. Now I using Toughtbuilt 10" tool tote. It's lighter than Veto. But still not very satisfied.
