If you ever go to Somerset do not fail to visit Fenny Castle. It is a very small earthwork, with two mounds, one bigger & taller than the other, in a field. No notice, no information, but very interesting.
Building that bank of earth would have been a heck of a task. Would some lord have been ordering his serfs to do that work? How would that have been achieved?
The rain must have washed it away now, but I went up there a few weeks ago and it was a minefield of sheep's droppings at the top of the hill. 😂 Glad it was all clear for you!

Sounds interesting, I will have to visit there next time I am in the area.

As always, tread carefully!
And thanks for subscribing.
There are two castles in Thetford, the other is a ringwork called The Red Castle. It is marked on the board at 19:05.
Never been there but just watched your video on that and subscribed.
