I love at 14:05 they praise Mike Stoops, then less than a minute later in the video they gave up 21 points.
If OU can play like that 2nd Quarter the entire year, they're unbeatable.

Big Game Bob who leads all active coaches in wins over ranked opponents, just got his 51st such win over TCU. That nearly double what Nick Saban has who recently lost to Big Game Bob in the BCS Sugar Bowl.
drwinstonOboogi I'm the biggest homer, but it's safe to say with multiple nattys in recent years. Saban isn't a good coach to compare Stoops to. I'll take championships over a big bowl win
Nick - HAHA! You may be right, and I respect your opinion but there is nothing in my post that isn't true. Bob Stoops is also the only coach to win every BCS trophy and a National Championship.

I'm not to sure about that, its more of a lack of experience in the backfield more then anything. Who would you hire in his place?
I can look up a few, but that's not the point. I'm sure bob stoops and his staff can choose better than me, just like they did with Riley. The point is after all these years the Defense need new and fresh perspective, strategies or plays, just like they did when they change the OC.
Heupel wasn't ever really the problem. It has ALWAYS been Mike Stoops. The bad OU defense put too much pressure on Heupel, and when he's pressured he doesn't call plays properly.
False. OU players on defense have continually had problems lining up since 2010. They looked genuinely confused in big parts of most games. At first it looked like it's just because the big 12 runs fast offenses. But then you watch other defenses and realize that it's mostly us. Ohio State doesn't run at a fast pace and we still couldn't get lined up. We also play a catch and read technique and Mike Stoops gets way too conservative when given a lead. And honesty, they're plenty of talented DCos out there that would come to OU. Only reason mike isn't gone is because Bob wouldn't fire his brother. I don't blame him, I wouldn't either. But maybe they can get another Codefensive coordinator like the early days of the Stoops era.
We may kick their ass but they got some badass uniforms and helmets

You gotta feel for Bob Stoops. He must know Mike has to go. I don't envy a man who has to betray his own brother.
Keeping Mike Stoops would be a betrayal, because he still thinks that he's actually good at his job when the evidence shows otherwise. Firing him would be proper, but the far more honorable thing to do would be for Mike to step down.

Shep. The defense can be fixed with actually good play calling, doesn't matter who the other corner is.
yup sure Sanchez even though Shep was the better player. OU's weakness is the CB opposite of Thomas & OU had one of the best secondaries in the nation last year
But the opposing team has all day to throw, and the corners give cushion EVERY play. There'd still be this problem WITH Sanchez in

Its like as soon as Mike Stoops realized he was doing something that worked he thought hed change it up a bit. He also rushed 3, 4 TIMES, to get TCU 21 points
This game could have easily been a loss. Fortunately TCU missed wide open receivers and dropped a few big passes. I'm not too optimistic for the texass game.
Best defense in the big twelve. Too bad TCU'S Offense sucked butt. otherwise they might have won this game and the on the happened yesterday.

It's rough on your defense when basically all the starting linebackers leave for the NFL and when you have a very inexperienced cornerback opposite of Jordan Thomas. I have faith in Mike Stoops.
J Phillips Maybe if it was just a talent drain I'd give Mike a pass, but inability to line up properly every game, wasted over a dozen of timeouts to save a huge play.
Not to mention other conferences have no problem stopping Explosive Big 12 offenses.
