- Welcome to the finalists of the Birds of the World Category of The Pangolin Photo Challenge. In this round we celebrate the bird photography images that made it final selection from which we will be choosing the winner.

Pelican beak... That is some stunning shot and wonderfully thought capture.
All the images were amazing. The 2 that struck me the most are the Penguin in a snow storm and the bird holding the frog in its beak.

I lean towards the owl in the lupine, but that's because I particularly like owls. Too many fabulous to make a real choice! Beautiful!!

As someone who has been a professional photographer for 50 years, and has settled back into wildlife photography in semi retirement, I could probably discard a third, but the quality is so high you would need to pay me to try and cut back to the top ten. I would need to consider technical competence, difficulty of subject etc, absolutely fantastic images

The photo of the pelican touching down on the water with a nice reflection is my choice.

I love the birds at 1:33, but all of the entries are magnificent :).
Wow....no idea how the judges will manage to choose just one winner! At least 10 could easily be winners: the shoebill, the pair of owls, the pair of bee-eaters, a few penguin shots, the kingfisher shots! All just so good....I have got lots of photos to take to get closer to this level. Well done to all finalists.

Lots of quality entries! My favorite would probably change each day. Today it's the Green Heron. So hard to find them on a suitable perch and then to have the perfect timing like that made that a lifetime shot to me.

I love the owl at 5:33 and the kingfisher in the rain at 7:00 although there are many other amazing images!

Hey, at 5:24 there is my image of Penduline tit which unfortunately cannot be awarded as it has been previously awarded in a competition before the ending of the submission period for pangolin photo challange (October) I forgot to remove it sorry. Hello this is a bit off topic: Is there a camera/lens combination that can quickly and reliably focus on a small bird that flies towards the camera from 8 or 10 meters?
