Now that is a product placement - you two smoothies. Beautiful Lancer! Very nice example. Thanks for taking care of it Dennis and for documenting it Lou! You guys are the best.
Hi Jeff, Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-) My pleasure documenting this car for you. Good news! Stay tuned, Dennis has more to share, Lou
Hi, Lou! Boy, Dodge sure knew how to give its customers the Royal treatment, especially with the tri-toning! Virgil Exner really worked wonders to get Chrysler caught up in the styling department in '55! Some years ago, NBC was "must-see TV". Today, you've got the "must see" channel with all the "must-see" cars! Thank you, Lou and Dennis, for bringing out this breathtaking beauty!
I had one of these from 2000-2004 but it was evident I did not have the skills for the serious rust repairs that it needed so I sold it and the next owner did it nicely. The chrome on the dash is just beautiful on these and so glad it still has the original 6 volt. Remember these (and a lot of '56s) on the Highway Patrol tv show.

Pretty awesome car. You can tell the late fifties era styling is ramping up with this model. Wings, jet engine lights, hood ornaments, chrome, two tone paint. Beautiful
I love how people from Chillinois say "DAHHHHHGE." I remember two of these 1955 Dodges in this color combo. A mom of one of my kindergarten classmates had a 55 Dodge Sierra wagon and a carpenter who worked on the addition to our house had a '55 Dodge Royal 4-door. He would open that trunk with the pushbutton and I thought that was neat. That was 1968. Kindergarten was 1963-64. I've been a car nut my entire life. These were the cars of my childhood. Nothing else like them. Thanks for featuring this one.
Hi Jonathan NC, "DAHHHHHGE" NICE! :-) Happy to read this one brings back memories of your Kindergarten Classmates Moms car & the Carpenters car too. My pleasure sharing this one with you, and you're welcome, Lou
"Ach du lieber, mein freund LOU"! WHOA MAMMA! What a piece of GORGEOUSNESS!! I'd go nuts trying to pick my favorite tri-color combination! When this car came out, I was 15 - I'm now 81! The 1950s were really a "renaissance" for beautiful cars, never again to be seen! "TANKS"!!! "Gesundheit"! Oh, the LaFeme (spelling?) model was a knockout too!

It sat in the garage more than she drove it ,had a small accident & never drove again! Thanks Lou & Dennis . He has a cool stable of cars !

Hi Guys - Cool car & ride / A sidebar story - My house was built in 1936 for Chrysler & Dodge employees only. They ran a bus from my house from 1936 to1965 to the plant in Detroit & Highland Park. Maybe the guys who built this 55 Dodge lived in my area. Westacres. Take care: Gary 🚂
Hi trainroomgary, Thank you for sharing the "sidebar story". You're probably right, so I think there is a connection from the people who lived in your house on helping build this car. Nice! Lou
what a baby doll. just great. and a 3 on the tree to top it off. the beginning of the Forward Look, which transformed Mopar from a stodgy hat-wearing old person's car to a stylish performer to envy. looking forward to the rest of Dennis' stable.

What a Great guy he is Lou. Nice to see a Real down to earth fun guy who enjoys what he enjoys and loves to share with others. Sharing does make the hobbie a lot more fun. Think in 1955 with the New Ford, Pontiac, Chevy, Dodge, Plymouth. Everyone today knows 55 Chevy but back then I would of chosen either the Pontiac, or Ford, over the Chevy. Wow Lou you got me on this one! Another one of Dennis's beauties! A far cry from his usual Ford Motor unit. I am always excited to see what he has next for us in collection. This was a great year of Dodge. I love the three colors on this car and that v/8 sure sounded good! I bet that ride along was fun. Been a long time since I saw a person operate a three on a tree like this one has. Just a awesome unit owned by a awesome guy!! Thanks for sharing Lou and Dennis!
Hi Steve, Happy to read you enjoy the colors and looks of this car :-) Dennis has some fun cars, and stay tuned, there will be some more from his collection. You're welcome, Lou
I really enjoy the trunk-n-treats Lou! You do a GREAT job with your channel and I always enjoy all the classic cars that you bring to your subscribers!
Funny how the overall profile and look of the big three from these years are quite similar. Which means they all got it right. Very cool Dodge fellas. Thanks for another great vid!
Super detailing, chrome embellishments sure sparkle, 3 paint hues, distinctive, very clean engine bay, looks like a keen runner, another nice find for the show Lou!
Sweet Dodge. I really like the triple tone paint. I feel like these cars get overlooked alot when people are looking for a classic to fix up. Thanks for sharing, lou. Take care
Very beautiful car Lou. I dont see many 1950s Dodge, Plymouth and Chrysler's at the car shows around where I live in Oklahoma. I was told my grandpa had one once his was 1956 model. I think it was a pink, black and white color combo. I know that I mention alot of my grandpa's cars often in the comments but he swapped cars alot for some reason not sure why.
Hi PlymouthDuster 225, You're right, you don't see many of them at car shows, so when I saw this one, I wanted to make sure you saw it too :-) Happy to read your Grandpa had one too. NICE! Lou

What a year '55 was for car styling. Everything looked so much less stodgy, even though I love the older stodgy cars just the same! LOL These cars are perfect examples of when people wanted a "pretty" car more than anything. We didn't yet need to go 70-75 on the highways and turn off on an exit at 65 and these cars had everything needed for a pleasurable ride. As soon as I saw Dennis I knew the car was going to be a real gem - and a gem it is!
Super nice car! I had a 55 Custom Royal Lancer with the 270 hemi 3 tone pink , black and white would like to find another one. The 55 is one of my favorite years.
My parents owned one for a few months. It was a real lemon. When my mom was driving it to pick up dad from work the steering wheel came loose from the column in her hands. Dad traded it that weekend for a new Buick.

Also have a 1967 barracuda fastback with a 440. 1973 duster with a 383 and a 1956 Chrysler Windsor with a 331 spitfire. But the 1955 with the 270 red ram is my favorite one to drive..😁
Lou. My dad’s step-dad bought one of these new in 1955. I’m not sure if it was just a Royal Lancer? Or the Custom Royal Lancer? I do know that it was pink, black and white. Upon his step-fathers death in 1965, my Grandmother kept the car until 1970. I can remember riding in it. When she went to get rid of it? I guess she offered it to my dad, as he was starting to be a car collector? He turned her down. I think later on he regretted his decision.

Hi Joseph, Happy to read you enjoy this "pretty" car :-) Glad to share this "gem" with you, Lou
Super nice car! I had a 55 Custom Royal Lancer with the 270 hemi 3 tone pink , black and white would like to find another one. The 55 is one of my favorite years.

Oh boy !
:-)
My parents owned one for a few months. It was a real lemon. When my mom was driving it to pick up dad from work the steering wheel came loose from the column in her hands. Dad traded it that weekend for a new Buick.
Hi Blair, Sorry to read this car brings back memories of your Parents lemon :-( Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou

Love the old 6 volt system? Maybe?
Yes, 6 volt.
Do any of those books ever mention a dodge la femme?
Hi Jesse, I'm aware of that car, I think it came in a pink color. Have not seen one yet to share on this Channel. Also, I did not see it mentioned in the car brochures, Lou
Thanks for the info! Hope one day you feature one, that would be amazing! Keep up the great videos!

Hi ROY, Hope you are behind the wheel of the right car for you soon, Lou
That engine almost looks like a Chevy "W" series engine. Never knew about that.
Happy to read you learned something from this video. Seems I'm learning from the Care Takers, or car brochures all the time. I find that to me FUN :-)
